I'm watching "Kate Plus Eight"....

Watched the show and am unable to put any intelligent thoughts together. That was a mess. Hopefully, the kids can lead a normal life now (if it is not already too late). Kate mentioned once that the show gives her kids the opportunity to take vacations they otherwise would not. They should take a time out from vacations for a while. While we all love a nice vacation, some things are more important in life (like stability and togetherness). It really bothered me that she seemed so disconnected from her own children at times.

 I'm not expert on body language, but those two are doing the naughty, for sure.

Agreed. I was watching her yell at him for agreeing to pizza and then saying "let's talk inside - I don't want to do this in front of the cameras" and I thought "It's Jon, part II" :lmao:

Let's see - It's Jon's fault
It's Jodie and Kevin's fault
It's Ashley's fault
It's Jamie's fault

My goodness I wonder if she ever watches the show and see whose fault it REALLY is.

There is NO WAY I would ever think that Kate and Steve's relationship is platonic after watching that episode.

I was so glad the guide called her on her behavior. Did anyone notice how he said some of the kids acted the same way as Kate did?

Did anyone else notice the interactions between Kate and her "bodyguard"? No way that's just a platonic relationship.

I could not agree more, especially when she asked him to come into the RV--there was a look she gave the camera man, when she realized the the interaction was being filmed--kudo's to TLC for putting it in the episode. It w

Although, wasn't there a post on Kate's twitter (I don't twit, but I do read what others report was said) that they are all friends and made up now?

There was. I didn't watch the show, but did follow the Twitter feed for about 5 minutes, LOL :upsidedow

Jamie & Kate have been friends for years ... I'm sure their friendship has ups and downs, just like everyone else's friendships do!

Wow - where to begin?

Kate was ridiculous! Out of everything, the thing she was most happy with on the trip was her organization?! She showed absolutely no interest in the incredibly beautiful places that she and her children were visiting.

I did hear her call her kids pre-schoolers. What was that about? Just another way to sort of undermine others, I guess.

As horrible as Kate's behavior was, I agree that Ashley and Jamie should never have bad-mouthed her in front of her kids. I get that they were angry, but they're both adults and are further damaging those kids. Ashley should have sucked it up since there was just 1 more day left - solely for the well-being of those kids. Don't get me wrong - have a private conversation with Kate and tell her she can kiss it, but wait until the trip is over to leave.

Honestly, I don't think there's much hope for those children. They still have Jon and Kate as parents even though the cameras aren't rolling (though I don't think Jon is too much of a problem anymore). And I'm sure Kate has been a terror at home taking her frustrations out on the children over the canceled show. I'm sure nothing they do is ever going to be good enough for her, and she is going to really have her hands full in a few years when they start to rebel. But none of it will be her fault, of course.

I also wanted to add that the river rafting guide was AWESOME- I loved how he called Kate out on her horrible behavior and didn't bow to her majesty! I will stress again that she is more concerned with organization than having fun with her own children while on vacation! She needs to shift her priorities around a little bit because some of her kids will turn on her over all of this in a few short years.

:thumbsup2

And I will add that I can't imagine going on a rafting trip and complaining about the hot rubber seat (and I raft myself) and then being worried about getting a drop of water on you is absolutely outrageously stupid! That guide was obviously hand-picked to handle Kate! And I'm so glad most of the kids got out of the raft and got wet briefly!

I haven't watched the show for a long time but the previews lured me in and I had a good laugh!

I was also lured in by the previews. I feel bad that those kids are living this life. That woman is really off. She seems to have no soft, maternal feelings for her kids. I think when they get older, several of them will cut her out of their lives, or she will cut them from hers, just as she has done to other family members. They probably won't know how to help her.

As for the trip: I would say her "organization" was not as great as she thought. I don't consider myself a great organizer. But I would have planned more for a 2 week trip. I at least would have found out which presidents were on Mt. Rushmore. And planned where to get food & do laundry along the way.

Am I the only one wondering about the RVs that they rented? Did Kate or TLC make the arrangements? Doesn't seem like they picked very reliable ones. I am not a camper, so maybe all these breakdowns are normal. Didn't seem like the best choices for a smooth trip.

I did want to stand & applaud the guy from the rafting! :thumbsup2 He didn't seem to care who Kate thought she was. Just did his job & didn't care about her attitude. I think Kate only went coz she was told to. And I bet she put up a huge stink with TLC about it.

Preschoolers? How insulting to call 7 year olds preschoolers. I'm sure their friends at school will have a good laugh over that. :sad2:

"Who talks about underwear on TV?" The same family that showed showers, potty training & a father disempacting his constipated son on TV!!!! :headache:

Are Kate & Steve "doing it'? Maybe, but I bet not for much longer. He looked pretty over her.

What's next for them? I'm sure Kate will kick around TV for awhile longer. I hope the kids will not. I hope they get some quiet normal time with their dad. And lots of therapy.

If she is the queen of organization how did one of the kids not have enough underwear?

We thought that was great too (along with Ashley's "That's OK, she's like that all the time!" crack) Finally, someone who wasn't afraid to take her over-the-top behavior or bend to her quirks! I loved it that he kept blunting her every protestation with the reality of the situation. And that "My kids won't be peeing in the river!" thing, please! Sorry Kate, but TLC didn't pre-position porta-potties along the river banks just for you guys!

I didn't think it seemed like the talking bad about Kate was in front of her children until the very big blow outs which really how could they avoid being within an ear-shot of any child in such close quarters. I also think it was one of those situations where Ashley became so frustrated and wanted to do her own "damage control" with the cameras rolling because let's face it, Kate also has a way of twisting things around to the public as well as to her children.
I agree that Kate's kids shouldn't have had to hear them ragging on her. But I agree that given the confines, inside "their" RV was the most privacy they had.

What a shrew. That really was Kate at her best/worst last night, My God. Besides wondering who in the hell gets on a RAFT.... in a RIVER! and complains about water - I was also wanting to slap her hysterical face when she was wigging over the bathing suits. Who was going to die if one of the little boys wore shorts on the rafting trip instead of bonafide swim trunks? That woman makes me :headache:

Anyone else bothered by how the nanny, the girlfriend, producers etc. were all bad mouthing and name calling Kate...IN FRONT OF HER CHILDREN. I'm all on the Kate is a total bitc* bandwagon. She is intolerable at times. But, with that said, Kate's children should not be sitting there while ADULTS talk about their mother, calling her names and describing her terrible behavior. Sorry, that's just not acceptable to do in from of her children.

P.S. I agree with everything the nanny, girlfriend and producers said about Kate...but would never say such thing while her children (or any children) were sitting right there. That's just wrong.

:worship: Yup. I agree! I was horrified her older girl was sitting there. Inexcuseable.

My DS17 walked in and said-" Who is that blonde lady on the show?" Ummm... that's Kate. "Boy... she looks different.":rotfl2:

Did anybody else notice the conversation Kate and Steve had about the photograph someone snapped of them and think it was odd. I thought it was funny when she asked him if he was going to "take care of that photograph" and he told her no. Good for Steve. I wonder if she makes him bodyslam anyone who snaps a photo of her and then smash their camera into oblivion.

I bet we'll see that photo in the tabloids next week. Methinks someone is about to become very wealthy ! :wizard:

I would argue that the example Kate has been setting for her kids the past few years is much worse than anything the nannies or producers said about her in front of them.

DW and I were laughing about that too. If we had been in that campground, we would be snapping pictures like crazy too. What could Steve or Kate really do? Nothing. I guess that's why they hung a tarp up between the rv's.

and just wait until those kids Google themselves. (if they haven't already) Even if they only read the stuff said by their parents and not the venom spewed on the anti-Gosselin sites ... it's pretty awful :(

Wadecool, did you see Kate when she was in town a few years ago?

At the end she was talking about "everybody leaves" It seemed to me that she thought everyone was leaving because of the amount of kids. she has no clue. I wonder if she tells the kids its their fault :confused3. She is a lunatic.

I was lauging at that too. No Kate they are not leaving because it's too much work with all those kids. They leave because they cannot stand you.....

:thumbsup2. Yeah, they know. I hope everyone enjoyed their entertainment. Just remember, this is real life for 8 kids. It won't stop when the cameras are gone. That is their life. (it's probably going to get worse for them) :sad1:

No. I think she was speaking at 1st Christian church in E-town, but I refuse to do anything to support her behavior.
