"I'M STUCK IN DISNEY!!!!!!!!" A Delightfully Unliveable TR ~ NEW TR 9/27!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so glad you got to experience your halloween/hanson/f&w dream, even if it was a year later than expected. It definitely sounds like it was worth the wait. Oh to be at Disney on Halloween...how magical!!

I love seeing the costumes! That family of Mary Poppins (and Alice) is super cool, they don't even know. That Mary dress is insanely spot on. Love it! Boo for not being able to go to another party though. I totally get wanting to go as many times as possible.

Can't wait to hear more.

What a great way to spend your Halloween in DISNEY! Definitely made up for the to-be Halloween trip last year, I'm sure :thumbsup2 I am so jealous right now of this. 3 MNSSHPs and then you just got to spend a day wandering around the parks on Halloween, too much fun!

That's so great how you got to draw Merida! Really nice job on it too. The Animation Academy is one of my top new must-dos for my next trip so I'm really hoping I'll get a cool character like you did for that.

I'm so glad somebody in the Disney community agrees with me that Wreck-It Ralph should've won the Oscar. Brave was such an easy choice because of the concept (not to mention the Academy has some weird bias towards Pixar), but in terms of execution Wreck-It Ralph was by far a better movie. Better script, better characters and actually a better story in my eyes. It's been awhile since a Disney movie under the Disney name has won an Oscar, there's something wrong there let's be honest.

*end rant* *ahem* What a beautiful day in the kingdom it was on Halloween! You can honestly never have too many castle pictures I agree. The fact I only have so few myself is a travesty. I'm going to come home with a thousand after my next trip, no doubt about it.

Oh Lia, cut yourself some slack. I have no frame of reference since I wasn't here during this supposed "Golden Age" of TRs (but if I wasn't there, it ain't no Golden Age ;)), but I have been an avid TR writer and reader for some time and though there are no real amazing TRs that don't use pictures anymore, still yours is by far one of the best I've read and that is coming from someone who has read a TR from the majority of current writers on here. When I first joined there was a scarcity of younger adults writing TRs and now there is a lot more writing them around here. With that said I think the TRs being written currently are by far some of the best since the perspectives are so varied from adults with families to even borderline teens (like 12 year olds). It's so great and I think you've got to look at it that way in that your TR came at a time when people are becoming more prone to writing TRs as well as trying new ways to write them. I'm probably sounding uber cheesy and this comment is getting particularly long so I'll end this little section now.

I can't believe you've managed to not ride Splash at all the whole trip. I don't think I could ever do that. The self-control you have must be amazing! Like I would totally freeze my butt off just to get at least one ride a day on it. Wow, major props to you my friend!

Can't wait to read about the rest of your last full day! :mickeyjum

AHH I know, it was perfect. I am still so thankful that it even happened and I always will be!

Thank you! It was such a nice surprise to draw her.

I agree. In general I think Pixar is a lot more creative than Disney these days, but Wreck It Ralph and Brave switched that up entirely. I think Brave is fantastic for a number of reasons, mostly because it features a young strong female who doesn't take crap from anyone, including her family. But the story itself is not the most original, meanwhile Ralph is completely unique and extremely creative.

I like this plan. Definitely the more castle pictures the better! :thumbsup2

Thank you SO MUCH. Hey, I'm not saying my TRs aren't good. I know they are. Yeah I rock these boards. :joker: But honestly I don't think they're better than the ones I mentioned, not by a long shot. And that's fine! I don't care about being the best, I just love that I've carved out my own little place here. It's a nice feeling that people actually care about reading what I write, especially because there are so many other TRs on here they could be spending their time on. I JUST LOVE YOU GUYS.

LOL I do not think you are quite grasping the extent of the coldness. Sandy made sure that Splash was a 5 minute wait the whole time cause no one dared go on! Thank goodness it was warmer on Halloween!

I am so glad you got to experience your halloween/hanson/f&w dream, even if it was a year later than expected. It definitely sounds like it was worth the wait. Oh to be at Disney on Halloween...how magical!!

Aww thank you. I am so glad too. It was absolutely worth the wait. I never could have imagined how it was going to be an even more magical trip than I had previously envisioned.

OMG that is nothing... I have way more costume pics from people watching! You shall see.

Thanks!

Day 11, Part 3 In Which I Find The Dream

Hello! WOW.

So I need mental help. Like that's a surprise.

But no really. I had a literal nightmare last night over not going to Disney this fall. My sadness over this is now translating into my dreams!!! DISNEY, GET OUT OF MY SUBCONSCIOUS MIND!!!

I CAN'T TAKE IT!!! I'VE CRACKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe I'll turn to a life of crime. We'll see. I'll let you guys know.

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled Disney Trip Report.

SO I got my Fastpass for Splash.

9400030332_8a7f7809e1_z.jpg

And then I headed back to Main Street! On the way I spotted a little Merida:

9397264797_7d358d42ed_z.jpg

Every time I see a kid dressed as her I just freak out over the cute because the wig is so funny and big on such a little person.

So then the giant birds started appearing. IDK what it is with the Magic Kingdom but Alfred Hitchcock could have had a field day there. Well I mean, maybe he did. What do I know?

9400030652_c570e2fdfa_z.jpg

I mean... JUAT. Wouldn't you think that's fake? Like, my God.

9400030890_fe280961a8_z.jpg

Omg please never attack me.

9397265417_9f96574c7a_z.jpg

Okay so there is a store in Liberty Square that sells Liberty Squarey items... like historical stuff? I don't know, I don't usually go in there. It's called Heritage House.

FOR HALLOWEEN THEY TURNED IT INTO A NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS POP UP SHOP.

It was alarming for someone like me who is such a big Nightmare fan. I was just passing by, minding my own business when I spotted Jack through the window... and when I walked in, I was engulfed in Nightmare merchandise.

9400031274_a0e1c3b5af_z.jpg

It was so beautiful.

9397265779_22e4e3da92_z.jpg

JACK SKELLINGTON EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK!

It was wonderful. I bought everything. And then during #BirthdayFestivus13 I bought even more stuff and in the future I will continue to buy more Nightmare items and THIS IS HALLOWEEN! EVERYBODY SCREAM!!!

It really is the little things, like that just made me EVEN MORE happy than I had been. It would be like if you were already on speed but then someone forced you to down a few 5 Hour Energys. I WAS HAVING A GREAT TIME.

During my last day in the Magic Kingdom, I always tend to stick to the Main Street/Hub area, even if I just chill out and wander... I'd rather soak in that atmosphere than go on a buncha rides.

9400031578_f0f59fbc0d_z.jpg

"Gosh Minnie, you've always been a princess to me." <3<3<3

9397266077_4d60b938c6_z.jpg

9400156350_d3fcac5822_z.jpg

It was time to go to the Plaza and get a Mickey Mouse Kid's Cone!

9397266181_97ec2f7db5_z.jpg

Here goes my obsession with Disney light fixtures again. LOL.

9397387715_b89a3e8262_z.jpg

If you only knew how many light photos I take that I do not include. If I ever get to design my own lighting someday, my whole house is just going to be replicas of lighting in Disney World. I AM SUCH A NERD AND SO PROUD OF IT.

9400153630_bdfa133eb5_z.jpg

YAY the Plaza. I can't wait to write about #Disney24 because Gina & I had such a hilarious experience in here. I mean... no one will probably get it because it was like 1am and we were in the Magic Kingdom getting ice cream and everything seemed really funny to us... but whatever we were DYING. I miss that night!

Anyway, back to Halloween. I got my beloved Mickey Mouse Kid's Cone, but I ventured out a little bit with the flavor. I always get Cookies & Cream, but they were having a special! Cake batter was available for a limited time, so I had to get it!

9397390387_6e9fcffb52_z.jpg

In my opinion, it was a little TOO sweet. Which is saying something because I am literally a sugar addict. Cake Batter is a tricky flavor, at some places it's divine and at others it's a little too much. I still enjoyed it though, just not more than the Cookies & Cream which is PERFECT.

I then made my way up to the castle to get a good seat. It was almost time for Dream Along With Mickey!

Honestly WHAT better way to celebrate Halloween than by joining a party, A CASTLE PARTY!?!?!

9397390719_2abe9013f0_z.jpg

And not just any Castle Party... one in which dreams REALLY DO come true!

9400156746_7fc3217306_z.jpg

So much to doooooooooooooooooooo!

9397391517_ba6d3e3425_z.jpg

I can't even tell you how much I LOVE this show. I honestly think it's one of the best things Disney has ever done.

AND FIND A DREAM

9397394439_f94658d815_z.jpg

FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDD A DREEEEEEEEEEEEEEAMMM!!!

A lot of things, and I mean A LOT of things at Disney make me cry or even just tear up a bit, but there is something about Dream Along With Mickey that brings out the actual SOBBING. I don't even know how to explain it and I am not exaggerating. I think it's because in real life I can be super cynical sometimes and while I'm still a dreamer, I've definitely become less confident that those dreams will someday be realized. But this show is just such a celebration of hope and fun and dreams and magic and DISNEY it does make you feel like you can do anything. And I am so happy that despite all of the things that have happened in my life that do make me a little rough around the edges, I can still watch a show like this and sing along and cry because things like this do still touch me deeply. Disney just brings out that PURE JOY inside of me and it always reminds me how insanely lucky I am to be there at that moment.

AHH I just went on too long about a show at Disney World, didn't I?

What can I say guys, I like joining a party, a castle party.

WHERE DREAMS REALLY DO COME TRUE!

9400160260_c393516bce_z.jpg

9400160424_423fe493ea_z.jpg

After I rocked the castle party, it was time for my ride on Splash. YES!!! FINALLY!!!

I very happily trotted over to Frontierland. Yes, trotted!

They had already started putting up some signs for that night's MNSSHP.

9397394907_e95f69102b_z.jpg

I was sad to miss it, but I had just gone to three of them so ya know. I wasn't crying about it. (Yet).
I was SO FREAKING EXCITED to go on Splash Mountain. Honestly, you would have thought I had to wait 30 years to ride it or something.

@babybritney: FINALLY going on Splash Mountain!!!!!! "You can't run away from trouble. Aint no place that far."

9400160936_96c6138e3d_z.jpg

YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY.

It was honestly one of my best times on that ride just because I had to wait SO long to go on it! Usually it's a first day kind of ride, but this was DAY 11! AHH.

The ride photo is funny because I had to hold onto my glasses.

9397395435_d351ab3aa0_z.jpg

I look like a grandma reading a comic in Parade Magazine. Whatever though, those babies are the only Chanel item I own. I was taking no risks, okay?! Also, check out the girl in front of me with the giant Mickey candy corn ears. She and I are both living the dream. Get on our level.

On my way out, I noticed some critter pumpkins:

9397395651_b7702a7524_z.jpg

Seeing more and more little Halloween details around MK was just the best for someone like me who is SO obsessed with the holiday!

9397395797_360dd4c0a1_z.jpg

They had just set up the Seven Dwarfs meet and greet, and I walked by at the PERFECT TIME.

This is such a cute picture, I can't even handle it.

9397396121_a13fa81996_z.jpg

THERE IS A BABY SNOW WHITE REACHING FOR THE DWARVES' GEMS.

Like, ARE YOU SERIOUS?! TOO CUTE FOR LIFE. CAN'T BREATHE.

I love this castle pic cause there's an orangey light to it. So Halloweeny!

9397396267_43e68c0e44_z.jpg

The Liberty Belle had her Halloween costume on! French Quarter, baby!

9397540157_b98495a778_z.jpg

Orangeyyy castle. The sun was serving up some Halloween goodness.

9400305670_3c93def4e5_z.jpg

I was headed to Tomorrowland, so I had to walk through the Hub to get there... and omg, it was Halloween central. I just stood for awhile and people watched because I was LOVING all the costumes.

So this was an interesting group. Ursula, Perry from Phineas & Ferb, and Wreck-It Ralph!

9400305806_042e052340_z.jpg

Okay, so I am in love with this couple.

9397540569_d89011317f_z.jpg

Not only are they decked out as the Mad Hatter and Queen of Hearts, they purchased/made their own Trick or Treat bags to bring to the party. And there were no kids around them. That is TOTALLY gonna be my future husband & I in like a million years after our kids grow up. I will alllllllllllllllllways be going to Disney and I will never be less into it and I will never not dress up for MNSSHP. Ahhhh I just love seeing older people there without kids. You are never too old!!!

And here's the... bee family? I don't know. I enjoy the guy in the flowers.

9400306090_278e526d99_z.jpg

Another awesome older couple! Cruelle DeVille and Smee!

9397540815_67ce081f05_z.jpg

All the different costumes are seriously one of the coolest things about MNSSHP. Being a Halloween freak, I'm always excited about cool costumes but BEING IN DISNEY too... this whole trip was one big ball of OH MY GOD THIS IS THE COOLEST TRIP EVER.

Up Next: The park is transformed for MNSSHP.... and I have to leave. But the night doesn't end there!

Ummm.... When I start having dreams like that I take it as a sign... and book a trip ASAP. The last thing you want to be doing is angering the Disney Gods further. Just sayin'. ;)

And now back to your regularly scheduled Disney Trip Report... comments.

Haha, I actually have thought those birds were fake on different occasions. I was VERY wrong. :scared1:

"I'd rather soak in that atmosphere than go on a buncha rides." A.M.E.N!!! ::yes::

You know Lia, I kinda feel sorry for those who don't get emotional during Disney shows and experiences whether it's crying during Dream Along with Mickey... or completely breaking down and becoming the equivalent of a 5 year old child on Christmas morning during Wishes (yeah that would be me).

I initially thought the Splash ride photo was funny, then you described it in your own words and :rotfl2:

That older couple... all dressed up... no words... :worship:

I swear, I can just feel the Halloween vibe looking at your pictures! Part of me really really wants to just extend our trip through Halloween and soak that all in at MK, but we just have such a good time trick-or-treating in our neighborhood right now while DS is still little. *SIGH* Maybe someday...

SPLASH MOUNTAIN! My one true Disney love. I feel your pain because I usually only get on it once a trip now because DH is not a fan of getting wet. I just can't wait for the day when Paxton is big enough (& brave enough!) to be my Splash Ride Buddy.

Baby Snow is sooooo cute. Some of those costumes are pretty amazing!!

Praise Jesus! Lol, girl you are so funny in your TR.....I think I would pee my pants talking to you in person!!! I literally laugh out loud reading almost all of your updates!! Thank you once again for bring a little sunshine to my day!

Your pictures have me so excited to try MNSSHP again!! And, ya know, hopefully the plague won't hit our family pretty much as soon as we enter the party this time...surely that can't happen twice...right??:crazy2:

I am so ready for a Castle Party!!!!!:cool1:

Aw man, I totally get the Dream Along love! It's such a cute/amazing show, dreams really do come true! The chanting bit to get Malificient to go away is the bit that always gets me! UGH! So awesome!!

Love that Mickey picture!

Yay for finally getting on Splash! Ah favsies! Cannot wait to ride again!

Love the halloween feel of MK, it's fantastic and awesome! Ugh, cant wait! Also all that Nightmare stuff is amazing! Such a lucky random find!

Ah! Costumes! Ahaha, that's such a random group, and that flower dude is hilarious!!

That is your inner voice saying come on down, price is right style.

I loooovvvve cake batter ice cream but you are so right! One place it's perfect & the other it's like thanks for the sugar rush off a single bite.

That Prince Charming (Snow's) looks an awful lot like a friend of Eugene's. wink wink, nudge nudge. ;) I really have to catch that show. You put it perfectly, there is always a struggle between cynic & dreamer as we get older. Disney is that one constant that reminds us we should dream, that dreams do come true and everything we are seeing used to be someone's dream...if they can do it, we can too. Thank goodness for disney.

That little merida & Snow White are sooooooo adorable! Love. And the couple as mad hatter & queen of hearts?! Oh my gosh. They are what I aspire to be!

Cute ride photo! I'm digging the glasses, very classic & fun.

What a great end to your trip! Love to see all the fun costumes! And I also can't wait to still be going to Disney after the kids are grown. You really are NEVER too old for Disney!

So excited you got to ride Splash! That is my favorite ride. I've been known to grab fastpasses for everyone knowing that not everyone will ride and just keep going on it.

The more I read this trip report, the more I want to experience Disney at Halloween time. I go with my family in the beginning of November so we always hit the Christmas decorations and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which is fabulous and a ton of fun, but I'd love to see something new and the fall decorations I keep seeing in your pictures are amazing! Plus, who doesn't want to go to Disney when everyone is dressed up in costumes?!?

Ahhh, I really need to see Dream Along With Mickey! I meant to on my last trip and missed it  It seems so magical when everyone posts about it here!

Ummm.... When I start having dreams like that I take it as a sign... and book a trip ASAP. The last thing you want to be doing is angering the Disney Gods further. Just sayin'. ;)

I wish I could. :( It's just not possible at the moment. Guess I should start saving now for October 2014!

They look fake! And then you realize they could easily stab you with their beak. D:

I feel bad for people like that too! Wishes is another one that just does me in. I mean you'd think I was at a funeral the way I cry. LOL.

:lmao: Well I'm glad someone finds my dumb jokes amusing! hahaha

THEY ARE MY FAVORITE PEOPLE EVER.

I swear, I can just feel the Halloween vibe looking at your pictures! Aww yay! Yeah, it's nice to trick or treat at home. I have great childhood memories of that!

Getting wet isn't always my favorite thing, but for Splash Mountain, I can handle it! Aww thinking of Paxton as your future splash ride buddy is too adorable.

Try saying that 5 times real fast ! :scared1:

LOL... I'd rather not!

Praise Jesus! Lol, girl you are so funny in your TR.....I think I would pee my pants talking to you in person!!! I literally laugh out loud reading almost all of your updates!! Thank you once again for bring a little sunshine to my day!

Thank you so much! I'd rather be thought of as funny than basically anything else so that is quite a compliment. :yay:

Right. Don't worry, I'm sure everything will be extremely magical this time!

YAY!

Awesome update! :goodvibes

Thank you!

If my inner voice could lend me some money, that would be great. :rotfl2: If only I could just book a trip!

Yup. I probably wouldn't order it again at the Plaza, my old standby Cookies & Cream is just too perfect!

Does he? I didn't notice! Oh, princes. :lovestruc Yes I agree. Dreams DO come true, even if not as often as we'd like. But the only way you'll know is if you try! Thank Goodness for Disney is right!!

I aspire to be them as well! They are so awesome. I wonder if they go every year!

Thanks so much!

What a great end to your trip! Love to see all the fun costumes! And I also can't wait to still be going to Disney after the kids are grown. You really are NEVER too old for Disney!

It really was... but it's not over yet! It was the perfect first day though. And I agree, I will never ever outgrow Disney!

So excited you got to ride Splash! That is my favorite ride. I've been known to grab fastpasses for everyone knowing that not everyone will ride and just keep going on it.

It's one of my top favorites, I just can't get enough of it! I like your fastpass strategy very much! :thumbsup2

My comments are going to be all out of order because I read your update earlier today, just didn't get a chance to post!

First of all, you look great in glasses!

I'm so jealous you got to be in Disney for Halloween. And finally ride Splash Mountain :goodvibes

That little Merida is THE cutest. It's such a cute little kid costume.

Those two pics of Mickey and Minnie during Dream Along are SO fab!

Bummer about the ice cream... can't win 'em all I guess.

Too bad you can't make it down this year, but there are more years! And sometimes it feels good doing the responsible thing, I think? Maybe? No? Don't listen to me! I'd offer you a bed in our room, but not so sure DH would go for that :crowded:

Also, check out the girl in front of me with the giant Mickey candy corn ears. She and I are both living the dream. Get on our level.

It's lines like these that make none of us even remotely surprised that you are the most read TR... :rotfl:

That particular line and photo cracked me up as well! Loving your TR (as usual) Lia! It's really gotten me excited about attending my first ever MNSSHP next month! I hope we have as much fun at our's as you did at all of your's!

Man I spent all day yesterday reading your thread, my husband could not belive it, he was like are your still reading it.... 4 hours in, I went yep and loving every bit of it.
