I must have missed it is all. Thank you for the link! I look forward to reading about both of your adventures. :thumbsup2

OCTOBER 31, 2012
Day 11, Part 1 In Which This Is Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, HALLOWEEN!!!!

Whew.

That was some MNSSHP.

Especially for it being my 3rd. You'd think the novelty would begin to wear off just a tad by then. Like oh yeah I love MNSSHP but I've gotten my fill of it for awhile.

NOPE.

Not at all.

Not even one TINY little bit.

I wanted to go to another MNSSHP. I still do. Right now, I'd like to be at a MNSSHP.

Before I continue with this update, I just have to say does anyone else think it's total BS that we are intelligent beings spinning endlessly in an infinite universe and yet we are ruled by GREEN PIECES OF PAPER!?!?!?!?!

I'm mad about it. I just want to go to MNSSHP and Food & Wine/Hanson this year and I can't because I'm not rich and stuff and it bothers me but hey! Whatever bye!

:sad2:

Uh... if anyone has any tips/advice on how to sell... um, items... on a market that maybe isn't so mainstream, PM me.

Like I also have to mention that I have the most PERFECT COSTUME IDEA and it's like even better than last years and you would all d i e but you know. It's not happening.

:'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

It's not like anything is ever going to top #StuckInDisney12 anyway, but... I'd like to at least give this trip a run for it's money.

But it is not to be. I am trying to reach a level of acceptance with this FACT but I keep thinking some divine miracle is going to occur and I will magically get to go even though I KNOW I won't.

God should probably save miracles for like, starving children and sick people. So I'll shut up now.

:headache:

So anyway, on that morning at All Star Movies, I was in such a Halloween mood. Which was fantastic timing due to it being HALLOWEEN!!!!

Never ever did I think I would be waking up on Halloween in Disney. Life is funny that way.

Just a note: I have decided the "freaking out about Sandy and worrying about everyone" portion of the TR is over because it would just be very repetitive at this point. I didn't stop feeling all of that, but I have talked about it a lot in this TR and feel you get it. I think my post on my moment of clarity in the Love Bug section of Movies summed the whole thing up pretty well.

There was more mess with flights and all that stuff this morning but again I don't need to get into it. Let's just say I still had no idea when I was getting home and this was just a neverending saga! Very worrisome but also very exciting. Definitely an adventure I won't forget anytime soon. I like throwing my hands up in the air and just seeing where the wind takes me, Pocahontas style, so overall it was a great experience.

So let's just dive on into the fun stuff, shall we? I couldn't decide where to go, so I decided to play Bus Roulette, a fabulous Disney game in which you walk up to the Bus Stops and get on whichever one comes first.

Here is where I ended up!

9256238715_2834e9fce7_z.jpg

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, HOLLYWOOD! Oh how I love Bus Roulette. It's really a fabulous game because no matter what you get, you win!

9397014255_c31608060a_z.jpg

I probably sound like a broken record but it was so weird to find myself at Hollywood Studios (coughMGMcough) on Halloween! Probably one of the best surprises of my life.

I didn't get there for opening but it didn't matter. The Times Board wait for Toy Story Mania was only 45 minutes and there were still plenty of FPs left! The park was empty - like early-December kinda empty! I was thrilled. It was like my very own special Halloween present.

9399778458_5c1a55dec3_z.jpg

9399778608_4b5ebe44f7_z.jpg

Hooray for Hollywood! I wasn't even sad about it being my last full day yet... mostly because I had counted my days wrong and didn't fully think it was my last day. LOL. I knew it *could* be, but my brain was not working apparently because I thought I had only used up 9 park days. So Gina and I were trying to decide if she should come the next day (Nov 1) to get me, or the next day on the 2nd. This ended up being the best gift because I didn't have last day Disney depression until like, 10pm that night. So I was able to 100% enjoy my day without being sad about leaving. It was perfect.

I was just so happy to be enjoying a holiday I love so much in Disney.

I have to tell a personal story so you know how much this meant... holidays tend to never work out for me in recent years (I'm actually super happy I had a good Halloween in 2012 cause literally EVERY HOLIDAY SINCE has been horrible to the point where it's almost comical, like the Griswold family Christmas). I am so obsessed with Halloween and yet something always goes wrong. The year before, in 2011, I had a Halloween/F&W/Hanson Disney trip planned and booked that I was DYING of excitement over. Then I took this job that required me to postpone the trip. The job ended up being 100,000% NOT worth it and I was stuck in a snow storm on the day before Halloween crying because I was supposed to be AT WALT DISNEY WORLD and instead I was stuck in the middle of this holiday ruined by hurtful crazy drama & a BLIZZARD instead! I mean, I'm used to my bad luck, but this was just obscene. It was so awful. I was literally stuck inside a store staring out the window at just pure WHITE outside not even knowing when or how I was going to get home... meanwhile I'm thinking about how I could have been seeing Hanson in Disney and going to MNSSHP at that exact moment... oh my God, I know I'm dramatic but it was like heartbreaking, so the fact that all of this ended up going from a THAT to a vacation beyond my wildest dreams in 2012 was 10x more amazing. I remember finally getting home that day and we didn't even have power so I was just like sitting in my bed reading a book, crying, and freezing. Of course, had that not happened, I wouldn't have gone to Disney during Christmastime instead and had *that* amazing experience. So in the end it worked out but oh my God, that was the worst Halloween EVER.

But not this time. Now not only was I at my favorite place on earth for Halloween, but I had already been there 10 days and done 3 MNSSHPs, saw my favorite band and New Fantasyland... tell me, WHAT could be a possible better way to celebrate this spooktacular holiday?! So I went from the worst Halloween to the BEST. I can't imagine any Halloween ever topping this, but hey, you never know.
YAY ME.

9399778810_e0aa7bf8c9_z.jpg

Very happy & rocking my glasses! I had to wear them because I was out of contacts. My trip was originally supposed to be 8 days, I brought enough contacts for 10 just in case, but it was now Day 11!

I decided to just get in the stand by line for TSM because 45 minutes is not even a lot of time to wait for such an amazing ride! I lucked out because the wait ended up being only about 25! I could not believe that it was well past opening and so empty like this. Today things were just going my way!

I went over to the Animation Building to go to my 3rd animation class. I just fell so in love with it on this trip!

9397014955_f4fca7e321_z.jpg

I was SO excited to see Wreck-It Ralph with Gina in a couple days that I had to get a picture of that. AHH I had no idea how much I would end up loving that movie.
Time to animate!

9397015145_bd16050fc7_z.jpg

I got the BEST LUCK at this class. I never ever expected this, but we drew MERIDA!!!!!!!!!!!

9399824358_877cf69ded_z.jpg

And I rocked it yet again. Okay, it's not the best, but for someone who can not draw a stick figure outside of the class, it's pretty awesome. :D

How cool is it that we got to draw her?! I don't think I've ever even seen a princess drawn in any TRs or anything... especially Merida. Every once in awhile I'll hear about someone drawing Buzz or something, but it's usually the animal characters. I was so surprised and excited!

Merida was definitely the most challenging to draw out of the three (I also drew Stitch and Pluto earlier in the trip), but I'm still proud of what I ended up with since like I said I totally can't draw AT ALL outside of these classes. It was so fun and exciting! And drawing Merida's hair is the best because you can just go nuts without much technique. SO FUN.

After the class, I headed down the stairs to check out the BRAND NEW Ralph and Vanellope meet and greet! One of my DIS/Twitter friends, Kimmy, had been tweeting me and asking me to go check it out, plus I was curious about these characters!

9397015513_f8df91a520_z.jpg

It's so funny to look at these pictures now, having watched this movie many, many times and become VERY familiar with these characters. When I took these, I had no idea how amazing the movie would be. I thought it looked unique and interesting, and I was right, but I had no idea how truly incredible it would end up being! As much as I love Brave, I wish Wreck-It Ralph had won the Oscar. I mean, YES the Academy Awards are totally lame, don't matter, and they always go with the safe choices... but I JUST LOVE WRECK-IT RALPH SO MUCH.

I totally should have got in line to meet them at this time, but since I hadn't seen the movie yet, I wasn't that into waiting on line for characters I didn't even know much about.

The funny thing is, while I was standing here taking pictures, something happened (didn't catch what it was exactly) and Vanellope left the greeting area and came over to us onlookers and started playing with kids and stuff.

9399779372_5fa9ed99c0_z.jpg

She was SO spunky and bubbly and fun, I fell in love with her character right then and there. Whoever was friends with her at that time really knew what they were doing, it was just an awesome moment and pre-cursor to the movie for me because it immediately piqued my interest in the film and Vanellope especially!

I headed out of Animation and down to Sunset Boulevard, to visit my lovely home, the Tower of Terror. I was a bit hungry at this point though, so first I stopped at Rosie's to get some fries.

9397015977_416985359a_z.jpg

I just love how there are interesting things to look at no matter WHERE you are in Disney.

Mickey's an aircraft worker! How cute!

9399779914_fab2902e80_z.jpg

Seriously though, I am SO happy I came here because I ended up spotting something I ABSOLUTELY HAD TO OWN...

A6jsLJsCIAE1Bu0.jpg:large

A TOWER OF TERROR MUG!!!!!! OMGOMGOMGOGMGOMG.

You have NO idea how much I FREAKED over this. LOL. Best Halloween ever, omg.

Here is another angle from Google cause I'm way too lazy to go take pictures of mine:

$T2eC16NHJGwE9n)ySfF8BRR5sS)0uw~~60_35.JPG

Goofy's on the end on the right there! It's SO cute how Donald, Minnie, and Goofy all look really scared and Pluto & Mickey are just like WOO. They know what's up.

Oh how I love this beautiful piece of art. You all know how obsessed I am with everything having to do with this flawless attraction, so I was seriously GIDDY over this mug.

I sat down eating my fries and staring at my mug quixotically. Oh, my Tower of Terror mug. How I love you.

During this time, an off-duty CM came up to me asking me where I got the mug and stuff and asked where I worked. He was surprised when I told him I didn't work for Disney and further clarified that I have NEVER WORKED IN DISNEY WORLD. Honestly... what was going on this trip?!

Off he went, leaving me wondering if there is a Cast Member somewhere who happens to be my doppelganger. I mean, this was just getting scary! Haha. Maybe it was because it was Halloween. You never know what can happen on All Hallow's Eve.

After I finished, I went to say goodbye to my favorite Hollywood hotel, and luckily got one of the best ride sequences EVER. It was unique in that at the beginning we sat for quite a bit before dropping the first time which used to happen a lot more in the early 2000's so it reminded me of the early days of me riding it. It was PERFECT. The tension just built and built and built so when it finally let go everyone was SCREAMING even more than usual. It was like... explosive. I could not have asked for a better last spin on my favorite attraction.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BEST RIDE OF ALL TIME. I love you so much, Tower of Terror.

9397016125_d750f54b9a_z.jpg

Next time you're at my Tower, take a look at the window displays. They are hard to photograph due to the glare, but there is always something interesting to look at!

9399780362_6a91845fe4_z.jpg

Oooh, Halloween Extravaganza!? I want to go to that!

Such fabulous outfits.

9399780522_c717b45b12_z.jpg

9399780746_2451c13986_z.jpg

Next I headed across the way to visit my former drinking buddies, Aerosmith. Stevey is totally 100% sobes now so we don't chill the way we used to, but I'm just so proud of that crazy mofo! And I don't say mofo but this is a family board so I won't spell it out.

@babybritney: LUST!!!!!!!!! HAPPY JUST TO BE IN LUST!!! NEVER HAVE TO EAT NO DUST!!!!! HELLOOOOOHOLLYWOOOOOOOOD!!!! #LoveInARollerCoaster

LOVE LOVE LOVE. That ride is always just such a F YEAH feeling. Like if I lived there, that would probably be one of the #1 places I would head if I was sad. Every time I get off it, I feel ready to go put on my own rock and roll show.

One VIP concert experience later, it was time to say goodbye to this beautiful park! (Though I didn't really know that yet so it wasn't that sad, thankfully.)

9399780950_4e42cf82f5_z.jpg

As you can see, I had some wonderful Streetmosphere to lead me out! :D Love them.

9399781240_14a45b022c_z.jpg

Bye bye, Hollywood. You've been OH so good to me! If only the real Hollywood was more like you. MWAH.

9397016943_c156c76be0_z.jpg

One last glimpse at my tower...

TEARS TEARS TEARS.

Up Next: The 2nd park on my agenda for the day, but not the last!

OCTOBER 31, 2012
Day 11, Part 2 In Which I'M IN THE MAGIC KINGDOM ON HALLOWEEN.

My next stop? The Transportation & Ticket Center!

9399781832_bc0b965bff_z.jpg

I loved the character paintings they have above the store here. It's the little things.

9399781560_ff213e6bb8_z.jpg

I wanted to go to the Magic Kingdom before they closed early (at 7pm) for MNSSHP. To be honest... I really wished I could have gone to MNSSHP on this night. I know, I know, it would have been party #4 in one week for me and that's excessive but if you think I care at ALL you are sorely mistaken. The only thing stopping me was that it was sold out! GAH.

9399781698_4110625e06_z.jpg

Ugh. Way to rub it in, Transportation & Ticket Center!

Oh well. Who was I to complain? I had it made. Off I went, monorailing it over to the Magic Kingdom.
9397017889_618cc67f2d_z.jpg

@babybritney: We are currently holding for further traffic clearance. Booooo crappy new voice of the monorail!

9399782030_d636d33bc9_z.jpg

Ah, there you are.

9399782130_3d24c0a2f1_z.jpg

My home.

*Warm gushy feeling*

As I walked through the entrance I was smiling SO BIG. I WAS AT THE MAGIC KINGDOM ON HALLOWEEN!!!! HOW AMAZING.

9399782266_15efec8d7f_z.jpg

I'm literally listening to "This Is Halloween" right now. <3 <3 <3 AHH I MISS IT SO MUCH. In this town we call home everyone hail to the pumpkin song!

9399782564_f37156bb1c_z.jpg

Right away I started to see people in awesome costumes. Many party guests were arriving early!

9397018413_5043911621_z.jpg

Penguin #1, Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter, Penguin #2! Awesome family.

9399782742_faf737af35_z.jpg

9397018863_1b8df82f76_z.jpg

Main Street on Halloween... I MEAN. What could be better?!?! I was on CLOUD NINE.

9399783024_3da295ea09_z.jpg

Very very content and rocking my pins & Nightmare lanyard so well. Hahaha.

9397019163_7ee72ca38d_z.jpg

GO ME. I'm just so happy even writing this update. It was such a great day.

They had little carved pumpkins all over the place. I loved looking around for them!

9399783342_6721254204_z.jpg

(No idea what that carving is though... Hmm.)

I think we need more castle pictures.

9399783482_29895045c1_z.jpg

Always need more castle pictures.

9399783596_003a6d76ea_z.jpg

Seriously... if you ever think you are done posting castle pictures just... post another castle picture. #protip :D

9399783746_cb9ed9c704_z.jpg

Take my advice!! Because I know what I'm talking about.

So guess what I found out recently? My TR is the only one to ever make the Top Threads of the DIS list besides Jess's. Jess is kind of in a class of her own though since hers is not about a trip, it's about her College Program. SO THAT WAS REALLY WEIRD TO REALIZE that this is like the most read TR ever...??????? I still don't know how that could be true and maybe it's wrong but like my mind is BLOWN.

Like... for those of you who were around in the TR golden days... can you believe that like, ZZUB and Delswife and people like that didn't even have this many readers? I had a feeling that couldn't be true, so I went back and looked at their total views... and um... I have way more. NOT TO GLOAT BUT LIKE, WHAT? Seriously, if you don't know who I'm talking about when I use the name ZZUB you need to go read his TRs. I'm probably putting too much stock into this whole TR thing, but like, I used to read his reports and thought I could never be that moving or funny. I wish he was still on here! Same with Mel (1000thHappyHaunt). Those two were the absolute BEST. I know I'm waxing poetic about TRIP REPORTS, but seriously, they don't make 'em like that any more! They didn't even include pictures, they were just truly unbelievable writers. I still think no one on here has ever made a TR as good as those.

Seriously... Stop reading this crap and go google 1000thHappyHaunt and ZZUB. Start from the beginning and don't miss anything!!

Anywho, back to me. *waves*

The #1, most important thing I had to do at the Magic Kingdom was RIDE SPLASH MOUNTAIN. Oh my God, it was DAY 11 and I had not been on it. I know, it's insane. But please understand... for the first 6 days of the trip I was with Lee-Anne who is anti-thrill rides. Then, it got SO COLD and windy that riding it was not even an option unless I wanted to turn into a block of ice after exiting the ride. Usually I avoid changing forms in public so I skipped it.

You have NO idea how frustrating this was as someone who is obsessed with Splash. It is one of my top top favorites so I was D-Y-I-N-G to get on it.

9397019843_3d95773e59_z.jpg

On this day, it was still pretty chilly but the sun was out and shining, so it was FINALLY time for me to go on one of my most favorite rides!!! YESSS!!!!

9399784116_f9ab6881f3_z.jpg

WELL... not yet exactly. I needed a Fastpass first!

The walk over there was absurdly lovely as it always is in this, the most magical of all kingdoms.

I COULD NOT WAIT FOR SPLASH.

9397020895_0401373f97_z.jpg

Up Next: Dreaming in the kingdom, what else is new?

P.S. Sorry I didn't update yesterday like I said I would, I apologize if any of you were waiting for it. I was just so busy and tired from work and then I had to get up at 5:30 this morning for work again RAH!!!! But I hope you enjoyed the two updates and I will try to not have 10 days pass in between my next one. Again, make sure you check out Jess's TR since she has now finished the #BirthdayFestivus13 portion featuring moi. It should hold you over on some of the details of the trip before I fully get into the whole thing. Have a great rest of your weekend guys! Wishing you a peaceful Sunday. <3

I'm really loving that Sandy Claws Jack Skellington outfit right now. So brilliant! I feel like an idiot for never thinking of that before myself. What a great idea! I just went through a blog of the D23 Expo with pictures from the costume contest/cosplay there and one girl was Sally but dressed in the Haunted Mansion maid attire. It looked fantastic, so perfect! Honestly, people need to start being more original at these things.

The photos of the ballroom dancers from the Haunted Mansion taken on your phone do make it a lot creepier. Adds a fluidness to it and the lack of contrast makes it look like they are just fading into the background. Awesome! :thumbsup2 And that little Belle was too cute. It really does give someone faith in humanity with the way some kids act these days, that some can truly appreciate things like this especially in Disney. So presh.

OMG THE HAUNTED MANSION IS ALMOST LOOKING MORE PERFECT THAN USUAL ASDJFGHKDJNVU Oh I need to go to MNSSHP to see that in person. Master Gracey sure knows how to spruce up his humble abode for certain festivities. Hopefully in a couple of years he'll hire me as one of his butlers. :goodvibes And what a great way to end your last MNSSHP by riding it at midnight! I am wicked jealous right now. Haunted Mansion <3333

NEW FANTASYLAND! Ugggghhh... I just can't get over how I still haven't been able to see it in person. I need to not spoil it for myself or I might explode. The wine glass you got is beautiful though, Disney is so classy! And thanks for the Le Fou's Brew tips! I now might have a use for my old refillable mugs now.

What a great last party! Heightens the anticipation for whenever I go to my first MNSSHP whenever that may be, but it will happen! After reading this, it's SOOOO happening. And maybe I'll be working with Master Gracey one of those nights ;)

Can't wait to read about your last full day in the World! :mickeyjum

Haha, I know! It's just so obvious, I don't know why I never thought of it! That Sally costume sounds AMAZING. Omg.

Thanks! Ahh I love those pictures, they really capture the moment. And yes exactly... sometimes I really need that faith in humanity and she is a perfect example of how great little kids can be when raised that well!

GAH I KNOW. He is quite the perfect ghost host, especially on Halloween! Is that what you'd like to do in Disney more than anything, a HM butler? It's gotta be one of the coolest places to work at the World.

Aww. When you finally do see it, and when you do MNSSHP, it's gonna be even better because of the long wait. You'll see <3

LIA!!!

Okay I just read ALL of Jess' reports from her DCP adventure and between you and her...

CAN I JUST ADOPT YOU BOTH???!?!!?

Seriously I love reading about both your adventures and am going through mad trip report withdrawal. We arrive 6 WEEKS FROM TODAY and I've already started packing...that's not too early is it?

I eagerly (and in certain social circles probably annoyingly bwahaha) await your next chapter :rotfl:

Glad you enjoyed!!! GAH I am soooooooooooooooooooooooo jealous. I want to go so bad.

Hi! I am mostly a lurker but came out of lurkdom to post on your thread as well as Jess's thread- I have followed both of you from the beginning and love your reports. I really enjoy your humor, infectious energy and expressive way of describing your feelings and experiences. I am heading to Disney in 2 days with my 9 year son and your reports have helped me to see many details in Disney with a different eye and viewpoint. Thank you for taking the time to post about all your experiences. Btw- I live on Long Island and had no power for 10 days during Sandy- could have been a lot worse but boy, how I wish I was in Disney at that time!
Jackie

Thanks for coming out of lurkdom! :welcome:

You are so kind. Thank you so much for the compliments! I especially love that you said you see Disney with a different viewpoint cause of my reports! That's so awesome to hear. I hope you and your son have the most magical trip of all time!

I must have missed it is all. Thank you for the link! I look forward to reading about both of your adventures. :thumbsup2

Of course! Enjoy (:

Lia, you know why you're more read than even the DIS board legends? It's because YOU'RE EVEN BETTER!

Seriously, I absolutely love your updates and your personality. In every trip report you and upbeat, hilarious and your passion for Disney is so contagious.

I literally added another day to my September trip and a night at MNSSHP because of this report and all of the fun you had. Hand. To. God. :littleangel:

I know the report is coming to a close but I can't wait for the next one about your most recent trip. Tear it up, girl. You rule!

I've never played Bus Roulette! I don't think the type-A planning side of me can handle that much uncertainty, although it is definitely true that it's a winning game no matter what!

I totally get the stress of not having your Disney plans work out! At the moment, I'm stressing because I took a new job, and because of it, I *might* not get the Disneymoon that I want. It's stupid catch-22, needing money to go to Disney, but then because of the source of money, not being able to go. :sad2:

There's no such thing as too many castle pictures!!

Just looking at the pictures, I can get *that Halloween feeling*...you know the one? Where the air is right and the pumpkins are perfect and it's FALL Y'ALL! And spending it at WDW!?! I just cannot imagine. This is amazing.

Roulette is totally the way to go when you're there that many days. And you're right, you always win! I'm so happy you got some ToT love on your last full park day.

Uhm...what IS that pumpkin carving? I stared at it a while. No clue. I figured something ice cream related due to its location, but I got nothing...:confused3

Can't wait to read about the rest of your Halloween!:cool1:

Side note: Thanks for the t-shirt tutorial via Instagram (disneyjenn1)! Why did I ask you on there and not here? Not sure. I don't always think clearly when it comes to MNSSHP planning! Here's another question for ya--what did you use to poke the holes? I have one shirt the correct color of yellow (Brynn wants to be Flounder!) and I don't want to screw it up, which I am prone to do.

Of course you're well-read! You're funny, charming, have great costume ideas and your love for Disney completely shows through. Not to mention we get to live vicariously through your fortune of hitting the ultimate dream: stuck in Disney World!! :cool1:

It's so great you got to go on your favorite ride on your last day without the last day blues. Just makes it that much more fun! Can't wait for your next update since Splash was down for refurbishment when we were there. :( You should get someone going this year to draw a stick figure of you and take it with them to one of the parties this year. Flat Lia instead of Flat Stanley!

Ahh I don't think that's true but thank you thank you thank you :yay:

You are so sweet. Thank you so much! I am very happy that my passion for Disney translates!

Omg, that's awesome. You're gonna have so much fun!! I wish I was going. SO MANY people have told me that they are going to MNSSHP b/c of this trip report. Disney should really just give me a free trip as a thank you!!!!!! Sheesh.

Thanks so much! You rule too!

Try it one day anyway! You never know what adventures await during Bus Roulette!

Ugggh that is so annoying. I hate having to balance real life stuff with Disney trips. I don't wanna be responsible, I wanna go to Disney! :furious:

Very true!

Yes, I know that feeling. :hmghost:

I agree! It was perfect.

I really don't know. I don't think the pumpkin carvings were themed to the area though, but who knows!

I just cut slits with the scissors. I wish I could give you some more tips but I have no idea how these things even work out when I do them. I just see it in my head and jump right in and hopefully it works! Good luck on Brynn's costume, I bet you'll do fine! :thumbsup2

Well sheesh thank you so much! I feel like I blush every time I come on here. Everyone is just so kind. Getting stuck there was certainly a dream and I still kind of can't believe it!

Ahh I know. I was so happy and oblivious until later that night! It was the best last full day ever. I think the Flat thing would probably just depress me even more to be honest! GAH I wish I could go more than anything. :(

So glad that you got to spend such a magical time at Disney over halloween and really enjoy it despite what was going on back home.

Absolutely LOVE that mug, I wish I would have seen it somewhere, gonna have to keep my eyes peeled for it this year, it's totally awesome! Anything ToT is great!

Love the halloween feel, ugh, I cannot WAIT for the parties this year, mnsshp will always be a love of mine forever and ever! Love the mary/alice costumes, they're awesome!

I don't want to hijack Ms. Lia's trip report but I had to comment to you Rob - you aren't going to believe this one but I just checked our trip itinerary and me and Kevin will be at Epcot on the 30th as well :cool1:

so I'll be on the lookout for you guys and as for us, I'll try to remember to wear my "Goonies Never Say Die" t-shirt as I highly doubt there will be that many 80s freaks like me wearing that shirt but I love the Goonies and the Truffle Shuffle still cracks me up every single time I see it :lmao:

PS - Wild Planet so rocks - Dirty Back Road, Private Idaho....I love Bouncing Off The Satellites from '86 too - Wig brings back a lot of funny college memories!

Sparkly Diva,

Too funny, my wife is a huge Goonies fan.:lmao: It would be awesome if could meet you two on Sept 30th!! We have never meet anyone from the DIS in all of our WDW trips (I guess that is what we get for being terrible lurkers for such a long time). We should try to work out a time and place to meet. My wife suggests over Gray Goose slushies in France or the Tequila bar in Mexico!

Lia,

YOU REALLY ARE THAT GOOD. IN FACT YOU ARE EVEN BETTER!! If all your TR's were arranged into a book, I would buy it in a heartbeat!!

awdwnut

Rob - I like the way your wife thinks! I say we meet in Mexico first and make our way to France! how does that saying go "liquor before beer you're in the clear" ? :)

Lia - you already know that you have a fan for life with me and your reports but I too think between you and Jess you could write a Disney travel guide especially a behind-the-scenes special regarding the tasty eats Disney offers. Or a book on meet and greets.

Oh heck you could write about how the grass seed at Disney is cultivated on site at The Land in Epcot and I'd buy it if you wrote it. And I'm allergic to grass. :lmao:

OMG!!! THIS!!!! This is a Fabulous idea!!!! Lia, you should think about it!! I don't know if there's a way, but I'm sure there might be.

Anyway, awdwnut and Sparkly Diva...though I'm not going the same time as you, if I was I would want in on a meetup cause I'm totally a 80's freak. LOL...Just the other night my DH and I went to see Adam Ant my all time fave....and I LOVE the B-52's. I think Planet Clare is probably my favorite. Right now in the car I have an 80's comp CD. It's very high school and college for me. ;) Oh and one of my childhood friends was in Goonies! She played the girlfriend...the redhead, can't remember her character's name though. Kerrie Green is her actual name.

Sorry Lia, don't mean to highjack your thread sweetie!!

LOVED this update!
I also have been meaning to tell you....the whole Mk 24 hours all nighter thingy? You have totally motivated me to go next time they do it. (Hopefully they will at some point!) Like, I want to be there no matter what! LOL.

Haha, totally agree about being ruled by those pieces of paper. Although here in Canada we're ruled by multi-coloured pieces of paper that we in turn need to convert to the aforementioned green pieces of paper. But your point still stands.
Of course, if I had more of those green pieces of paper, I would totally send you to Disney just to get an awesome StuckInDisney13 (minus the hurricane of course) Halloween report.

MGM for the win!!

OK, I simply love the carefree-ness of this last day. More people really need to try that. I know that Disney trips generally require a lot of planning (and with FP+ maybe TOO much planning, but I digress), but the REAL magic happens when you least expect it. I know from experience this to be 100% truth. EVERYBODY needs to take 1 day from a trip and just "be".

okay stick a fork in me I'M ALL DONE!!!

Adam Ant?!?!?!?!?!? Stand and Deliver!!! Ant Music for Sex People Sex Music For Ant People??? I'm dying and being reborn again at age 13 when I thought Adam Ant and John Taylor from Duran Duran were the end-all be-all dominant males! Too funny!

and you're friends with Kerrie Green how cool! (she played Andy, Steph's best friend)

THE GOONIES is one of the best classic movies of the 80s - most of the 80s music, movies and fashion still rock my world. I'm seriously considering breaking out my black jelly bracelets and lace fingerless gloves and going as Madonna for MNSSHP on October 3 :thumbsup2

Okay back to our regularly scheduled fantabulous Lia trip report (that all of us 80s freaks keep hijacking) :)

Hi! I'm sorry I haven't been commenting much lately, it's literally painful for me to be on the DIS right now, not knowing if my upcoming trip is actually going to happen. Which is why I quoted this, because I'm feeling the same way! :sad1: I always read these inspirational quotes, like "do more of what you love" and stuff, and one day last week, something like that just set me off, and I was like "but what if what you love is Disney, and you can't be there all the time????" :sad2: :rotfl2: I don't know, not one of my best moments!

Anyway, I loved all of your MNSSHP updates! I really loved that party, I'm sad I won't be going this year. And I can't even talk about not going to Food and Wine. This is the first time in 4 years that I won't be going to Food and Wine and I can't handle it! :crazy2:

Love the idea of bus roulette! Someday when I get to go on a solo trip, I'm going to play bus roulette every morning! Being in Hollywood Studios on Halloween must have been amazing...just being in Disney on Halloween is more than I can even imagine! :dance3: And then going to the Magic Kingdom!! Those pictures of Main Street, all decorated for Halloween and then Frontierland are so perfect!!! Ahhhh I can't wait to be back there, whenever that's going to be! :confused3 :goodvibes

Here is a picture from ************** where I found it:

I wish I had that much spare time to make something like that or the sewing skills.

Yes, HM Butler is probably my top role. I really want to do one of the attractions roles that requires a script and being in character so like The Great Movie Ride, Tower of Terror, Jungle Cruise, etc. any of those would be a dream to work as. Below all those is probably Photopass or Character Attendant. I would just have so much fun with people doing that.

True, but I JUST WANT TO GO! Sadly I'm a bit too late now :/

It was the best <3

I definitely saw it offered at some CS locations when I was there in May, so you will probably be able to find it!

AHH I wish I could go SO bad. I hope you have the most amazing time!

Lia,

YOU REALLY ARE THAT GOOD. IN FACT YOU ARE EVEN BETTER!! If all your TR's were arranged into a book, I would buy it in a heartbeat!!

Aw shucks. :littleangel: Thank you so much!

We're too frumpy to become published, I think.

As always you are too sweet! Thank you so much!

I'm sure there is, but it would probably be ridiculously expensive. I do need to just print them out someday though.

I don't mind at all! hijack away! :thumbsup2

Thanks! OMG yes you need to do it. It is something every big Disney fan needs to experience it! I really don't even know how to explain how fun it was. The vibe was insane, like it was a private party or something.

Haha, totally agree about being ruled by those pieces of paper. Although here in Canada we're ruled by multi-coloured pieces of paper that we in turn need to convert to the aforementioned green pieces of paper. But your point still stands.

Omg that's right. Your money is really cool looking, I forgot about that.

One of my friends joked that I should threaten to keep the Birthday Festivus report from the DIS unless people get together to fund my next trip :rotfl2: Sigh. I wish #StuckInDisney13 was a thing but it is just not to be! :guilty:

I totally agree! Ever since my first solo trip in 2008, I've been doing that. You just feel like you *know* Disney more at the end of the day. It's so lovely.

I am obsessed with the Goonies. pirate: When I was 12 I started discovering all the popular 80's films and my life has never been the same since!

Hi! Aww, I know how you feel. Updating this TR makes me ACHE because I just want to go back during MNSSHP/F&W/Hanson so badly. :'(

I *hate* when people make generic statments like that, "Just do it! Do what you love! Life is short! Just let go and go and do that thing that costs tons of money!" It's the same as "If you don't like your job, quit!" Oh OKAY. I'll just be poor then...? or "Happiness is a choice" is another annoying one. No, sorry bye. :rolleyes1

Hopefully we will both get to go next year and many many years to come. I know one day when I have a family of my own that is always going to be the time of year we visit. I will take the kids out of school and everything, I don't care! It's the best thing for them anyway. :rotfl2:

You definitely should! Ahh I love being solo. The whole day was definitely a dream come true.

Here is a picture from ************** where I found it:

AGGHHHHHHH!! SO SO AWESOME! That girl rocks. Omg.

Those are the attractions I would want to work at as well! You have perfect taste. :thumbsup2

I WANT TO GO TOO. AHH.

What a great way to spend your Halloween in DISNEY! Definitely made up for the to-be Halloween trip last year, I'm sure :thumbsup2 I am so jealous right now of this. 3 MNSSHPs and then you just got to spend a day wandering around the parks on Halloween, too much fun!

That's so great how you got to draw Merida! Really nice job on it too. The Animation Academy is one of my top new must-dos for my next trip so I'm really hoping I'll get a cool character like you did for that.

I'm so glad somebody in the Disney community agrees with me that Wreck-It Ralph should've won the Oscar. Brave was such an easy choice because of the concept (not to mention the Academy has some weird bias towards Pixar), but in terms of execution Wreck-It Ralph was by far a better movie. Better script, better characters and actually a better story in my eyes. It's been awhile since a Disney movie under the Disney name has won an Oscar, there's something wrong there let's be honest.

*end rant* *ahem* What a beautiful day in the kingdom it was on Halloween! You can honestly never have too many castle pictures I agree. The fact I only have so few myself is a travesty. I'm going to come home with a thousand after my next trip, no doubt about it.

Oh Lia, cut yourself some slack. I have no frame of reference since I wasn't here during this supposed "Golden Age" of TRs (but if I wasn't there, it ain't no Golden Age ;)), but I have been an avid TR writer and reader for some time and though there are no real amazing TRs that don't use pictures anymore, still yours is by far one of the best I've read and that is coming from someone who has read a TR from the majority of current writers on here. When I first joined there was a scarcity of younger adults writing TRs and now there is a lot more writing them around here. With that said I think the TRs being written currently are by far some of the best since the perspectives are so varied from adults with families to even borderline teens (like 12 year olds). It's so great and I think you've got to look at it that way in that your TR came at a time when people are becoming more prone to writing TRs as well as trying new ways to write them. I'm probably sounding uber cheesy and this comment is getting particularly long so I'll end this little section now.

I can't believe you've managed to not ride Splash at all the whole trip. I don't think I could ever do that. The self-control you have must be amazing! Like I would totally freeze my butt off just to get at least one ride a day on it. Wow, major props to you my friend!

Can't wait to read about the rest of your last full day! :mickeyjum
