I'm Ordering a big BLT for Thanksgiving 2010 NEW 12/3 started TR! see link

I agree with Heidi's taxi suggestion.
Or you could take a taxi with Matt and Nathan to BLT. Once you get there, they could go check in and you and the girls can walk to MK. There are mini van taxis, so fitting everyone shouldn't be a problem.

Yes you are right on the soy...

oy that gluten issue....we are going on a family outing today which includes a picnic and I bought Pringles...but she can't eat those either...

thanks for the good info on the DTD restaurant. Is this a CS then?

Yepp-it's replacing Mc Donalds, so it's a CS.
I'd be inclined to just cab it to BLT. Is having the GP's take the taxi and check in at BLt while you're doing BBB an option?

Good idea Jenn for them to share the taxi...that would save $$. And if every thing is going smoothly then Matt & Nate can go over to the MK with you....should be plently of time.

I have to agree with the idea of taking the taxi! It is only about 15-20 for your peace of mind! I have taken the taxi from POP to Contemporary and it was no issue and the walk from the Contemporary to MK takes no more than 5 minutes which would beat trying to wait for the resort monorail which would be the only one running that early in the morning to get you there before 8am!

I agree on sharing the taxi and walking to MK, it's a very quick walk and then you are all together.

If you were concerned about timing for Bell Services, you could just drop off your luggage at BS Pop when you check in and request that it be transferred to BLT the next day. Then just take like one suitcase into Pop. In the morning, just take that one suitcase with you in the taxi to BLT. Then at BLT go to Bell Services, check it in there (and alert them that you have more coming from Pop). Voila! No waiting for BS at Pop at all!

It does sound like a busy morning ... but hopefully everyone is all excited about being in MK and has extra energy so you are all enjoying BBB and the meal and not just trudging through it all.

Now my family -- we are exhausted from the plane/car or ME, check-in, etc and my DH has requested we take it easy on arrival day and first full day at Disney. So I've built in an extra day or two to account for that. We used to go for a week...now we go for 9 nights/10 days!:lmao:

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!! :worship: :littleangel: :thanks: :disrocks: :jumping1:

Yuck! What a mess... I'm pretty sure bell services start pretty early... we had an early flight home last year and had bell services at our door at the crack of dawn on our departure day to pick up our luggage & drive us up to Custom House to meet the ME bus.

good to hear...

I find it strange that you have to wait until 6am...

Ok it makes sense now by how Heidi explains it...why are you not a CM girl?

My understanding is that it is 6am for check-in -even if you don't care about getting into the room. If it was midnight....can you imagine how many people wouldn't get a room for that first evening and try to get into a room before dawn and camp out in the lobby?

ok didn't think of that...duh?

My only concern with your plan is you and the girls getting from POP to MK in time. I would really consider taking a taxi from POP to MK (I guess they drop you off at the TTC, right?) For me an extra $20-$25 would be worth it not to stress about being late.

yes I am wigged out about this...this Day 2) plan was all put to play thinking we were at BLT the whole stay and walking over....I have my heart set on this....

Tell me again why you aren't staying at BLT the first night?

POINTS...pure and simple...figured at the time makes sense to start small then finish w/ the switch...now i don't know  we needed to save points we are borrowing from 2011 for Matt and I anniversary trip next fall.

I agree with Heidi's taxi suggestion.

mini van taxi never thought of that...this sounds way doable...

Matt and I are the DVC members so it has to be one of us...the GP's are considered our "guests"

thanks...so glad you guys all think alike! and good to hear someone else has done this.

Oh Man Masha, I never would have thought of that...we are doing DME...so I guess after I book our flights next month...I was going to explian the split stay info anyways...and I can call POP the week of I bet and ask for the luggage not to be delievered to the rooms...we can just go over get the one bag later and that would be so much easier....hopefully the GP's can arrange their luggage the same way.

It does sound like a busy morning ... but hopefully everyone is all excited about being in MK and has extra energy so you are all enjoying BBB and the meal and not just trudging through it all.

that is what I am hoping...

Yes...we need that non-park day on the arrival too....good to just settle in, like you we learned the hard way not to really "schedule" anything on Day 1) arrival...

we bounce back pretty quick for the 1st park...but certaintly duely noted...if it wasn't Naomi-Ruth's b-day it may not be a big deal...

now let's just hope next Monday my ADR/ and BB appt making all goes well...

wow thanks again all,

I feel way more at ease...

so for those of you who have cabbed from 1 resort to another...what time do we need to call, do we call the lobby or is there a cab # and if we want to be up to CR around 7 am to check-in for BLT.

Is still calling for a cab pick up around 6:45 am good?

TIA again

J~

PS my tickers are out again....UGH!!! but less than 1 week now to making the ADR's...and almost less than 6 months till the trip... YAY!!!!!

Wow! It makes me tired just reading about that switch. We've done split stays but always have our own car so we don't have that transport issue.

The taxi to BLT sounds like the best option. I didn't know the resort busses went to the TTC, we've had before park opening ADRs and never had that issue. Guess you learn something new every day!

I always have Bell Services or Valet (at the Deluxes) get me a cab. There are usually a few parked in the parking lot just waiting. But if you need a mini van one....I think they might need to be called.

Maybe you can arrange for the taxi the night before. That would save some time in the morning.

Wow! Looks like you've found the perfect solution! :disrocks:

here is hoping.... ::yes::

you're telling me :faint:

me neither...read it in the Unofficial guide...so maybe it's not right, last pre-park Mk we did was 08 and we were on the monorail...so didn't have the bus issue...

I'll ask when we check in what is the best way to arrange it...

that is a good thought too...

Hope to give you the ADR list post by Wed...so please stay tuned, even though my bum tickers are out...twice on one PTR :headache:

J~

I agree with Native New Yorker, make the arrangements for the taxi when you check into Pop the night before you need it...esp since you want a mini-van taxi.

You might even want to confirm when you wake up that morning, since you'll be on a tight schedule.:goodvibes

7) Cali Grill-Resorts-CR-sig dining 11-21-10 7:45 pm (5:30-?) (11-22-10) (ATS: Citricos)

:chat: Note: this is the GP's alone time meal

??? is 7:45 pm a good time to be able to be in the restaurant to see the fireworks

??? for my two lunch meals CRT and Tuttio (non CLP pkg) anyone confirm or deny when the lunch menu is officially started? I have 12 pm as my 1st choice, as that is partially my guess and partially what I think is true at least for CRT, listed as start time on the menu from Allears & in the unofficial guide book, Unofficial Guide book lists Tutto Italia as lunch starting 11:30 am...

Last couple things...love to possibly share a meal w/ irishdancer and her family toward the end of trip...if that works out all, if they do go ;) maybe Turkey dinner or bfast or sat 11-27 meal....wdyt? (we can chat on Friday too....)

??? so hey anyone know do GG's have to be done on the phone?

and after I am done online I will need to call Disney Dine to make 2 additional ressies:

1) BBB princess: in MK 8:00 am or 1st open spot on Sat 11-20-10...for 3 girls (Bekah, Rachel and the b-day girl Naomi-Ruth) like all to be getting done at same time...

2) PL pirate: in MK time TBD and date TBD for Nathan...still need to finalize if he wants to do it or not...:confused3

well that's it, sorry no flashback pictures to share right now...

thanks for reading,

Scrappie J~

Your ADRs look great!! Sending you lots of Pixie dust that you get everything you want :wizard::wizard::wizard:

And yes you'll need to give them your CC information when you book CRT so have that ready when the time comes!

:wizard: sending lots of pixie dust your way! I hope you get what you want. :goodvibes: We needed a CC for F! package, BBB, Akershus and I know you need it for CRT.

I'm lovin' your list! :thumbsup2

I think 7:45 at Cali Grill should be perfect for 9:00 fireworks.

Definitely need to have the credit card for CRT.

PassPorter says WCC begins serving dinner at 5:00. I would say, the earlier the better for Thanksgiving Dinner. People will be more apt to take their time at dinner and you don't want to get held up if you're in a later time slot!

I definitely remember reading somewhere that Grand Gatherings ressies have to be done on the phone...

Lots of luck, Scrappie!!!!

Good luck with the ressies!! pixiedust:

I would suggest that you add 2 or 3 to your cart then check out. Then go in again and do the rest. Do the most important ones first... I've heard of people timing out or losing things in their cart before they have had a chance to check out. And yes, I think you'll need a CC for CRT. At least I did when I made my ADR... had to pay in full since we weren't on a dining plan. I think you have to pay then they refund you at some point later?? Not positive on that though... :confused3

Your plans look good!! :thumbsup2
