I'm a snuggiologist

I'm joining the Snuggie cult. Well kind of. I found a pattern online and I'm going to make the kids some but with their favorite fleece material. My kids are color coded so I need red (not maroon), blue, green, and baby pink (not the hot pink). LOL Now, how to ship them along with all the other gifts to WDW is a bit of a challenge.
Wonder if DH would wear one???? He's not really a blanket kind of guy.

And no they are not robes backwards, I do that. I have my grandfathers LL Bean bathrobe. At 5'1" it's still not long enough to stretch out on the couch and still have your feet covered. The optimal snuggie length is over he shoulders and tucked in at the feet.

I am mostly a lurker, but after reading this, I think I am going to get my son one for his upcoming field trip this weekend.

He is going on a 3 hour bus ride to Portland, OR with a bunch of classmates (he is in middle school) and they leave at 5am. The note said to "bring a blankie", but I think a snuggie (or snuggie knock-off) would work better, as he can stay warm and 'snuggie', but can still play his DS.

I do believe a trip to Ross is in the works for me this morning!

I told his friend's mom this morning about getting him the Snuggie, and she told my son not to let her son make fun of him (apparently he thinks snuggies are a gag gift). I told my son just to let his friend know that when he makes fun of him that he joined the "Church of Snuggieology". That way my son gets the first laugh, and the friend knows that my son made the first joke, thus setting the tone for no more joking. (you know how teenagers can be....)

Anyhoo, thanks for the big 'ol long snuggie thread!! It couldn't have come at a better time, with the upcoming field trip. Plus, we can bring it (or them, if I decide to get one for DH and myself) on the plane too for our upcoming DL trip!

:cloud9:

I think i need to get one for my english mastiff....but i think she is too big for a dog sized snuggie.

Get his friend one, too! :)

I like this thread, even if I have a sneaking suspicion that the OP is goofing around. :upsidedow

And my post yesterday talked about how I don't like the feel of the fabric...went to Costco and found a plush one (Snuggie brand) that felt lovely! Ruh roh!

I had a thread about gifts ubder $10 for my family Christmas party..we do a bingo/lottery type game and I think I may go abit over and buy one of these for it. Theyw on't know whether it is a gag gift or serious...now what color to choose...

I think snuggies are ridiculous...and I want one. I am totally getting my MIL one for Christmas too. She reads a lot and I think it will be nice for her to have one while curled up with her book.

I am goofing around a bit in some of my posts, but I really did get the Snuggie for my birthday, and I really do love it. If you saw the plush Snuggie, then you must have gotten the same one that I got. It's their new micro fiber Snuggie (the latest advancement in Snuggie technology). I also got my son one at Target yesterday. He'll be getting it for Christmas. His doesn't include the book light, but did include non-skid Snuggie socks. I'm a bit jealous about that.

Notice how the dog can still use her paws for the remote.

She doesn't seem to be using the book light though.

But where are her little buddies that play backgammon? I laughed so hard when I looked at that package, but I so want one for my dog! She has no hair on her underside, and she freezes when it's 70! But she is petite and the arm and neckholes are quite large.

This thread is so funny, we always make fun of snuggies, but I bought a flimsy knockoff on black Friday for $2.99. I love it!!! Now what I really want is a slanket!!! Do they sell them anywhere besides QVC?

My dd5 actually included a Snuggie for kids in her list. It was at the top of the page.

Well, Ross didn't have the Snuggie, but they did have the Slanket!

Microfiber plush, super soft, and only $8.99. I looked them up on ebay and they are selling for $30+!!

I got a pale purple for me, and the only masculine one they had was the bright red color (and only one at that!), so I got that for DS. Now I just have to make sure I looke next time I am there for DH. I would love to find him a blue one! There were only 5 total there, and I bought 2 of the 5. There were 2 hot pink color, and one more pale purple when I left the store.

No light for reading, but they are super soft, and very warm! The package reads "The Original Blanket with Sleeves", so I am guessing the Snuggie "borrowed" the idea and just marketed it way more.

:)

A fellow Mainer has been producing and selling these for years- I think they are higher quality than the knock off Snuggies..........

You would be right! From the Slanket website.......

One subzero night in 1998 during my first semester of college I could not escape Maine's winter bite. While watching Late Night with Conan O'Brien I decided I needed to tear a hole in my sleeping bag so I could keep my upper body warm as I channel surfed during the commercial breaks. During Christmas vacation I commissioned the first Slanket to be made by my mother...and it was born.

Everyone behind the The Slanket is on the same level when it comes to life. Besides creating a product to make people comfortable and warm, our life goals are not to accumulate mansions, SUV's, expensive watches and closets just for shoes. What we want in life is to travel the world and experience all its cultures while representing humanity positively. Whether surfing in Costa Rica, snowboarding in Austria, or studying language in South America and China, we love to spread our sleeves and let them flap in the wind, giving back in the process. BUT... there is nothing like coming home, wrapping up in THE SLANKET on your own couch and feeling the warmth of your friends and family.

OK that is it, since I have seen this posting I have gone in search of Snuggies in UK, I start in ebay and only found rip off ones with bad comments in the feedback, then I have found a company who are selling them at over $50 for same offer as the US site two snuggies with the lite, but over double the price.

Is there any honest person out there who will take paypal and ship me the buy one get one free snuggie offer. I will deposit $30 in paypal for payment, if shipping to UK is more than $10 then I will pay that on arrival.

If anyone else has a better idea than the over priced people I have tried please let me know.

Me and my DH want to become snuggiologist!!!

I will......IM me....

Well, Christmas has come and gone. My son and one of my two cats received a snuggie from Santa. They both love it and have become snuggiologists. Here is a picture of our cat with her new snuggie...

(She preferred that her face not be shown)

My son would not allow any photographic evidence of him being linked to a Snuggie, but strangely enough he has no problem with me posting his Halloween costume this year... :confused3

Was anyone else converted over the recent holidays?

ds asked for one too:rotfl:so of course Santa :santa:got him one.

My dd cheerleading team did a gift exchange and I talked her into getting a snuggie for the girl she thought everyone would hate it and it was the opposite everyone WANTED it:laughing:

My daughter hates shopping (where did that child come from?!) Anyway... I bought her presents for her grandparents for her to give. I showed her that I bought her Grammie a Snuggie for her to give. She was appalled! She said she was just telling Grammie that the Snuggie was the worst invention ever and that she would never pick that as a gift for her Grammie. I said, Oh well... you didn't want to go shopping - so this is it! You can give it as a joke gift. (I knew that her Grammie would  it because she is always cold!)

Christmas has come and gone - and I am now on the search for another Snuggie - as DD now wants one of her own!! (So do I!) I can't believe how much I LOVE the Snuggie (and I don't even have one yet!) As soon as Grammie gets up to do something - someone snags her Snuggie! DD wanted the animal print Snuggie - I looked yesterday and didn't find that pattern. She was very disappointed when I got home - first thing she said was - did you get a Snuggie? I said they didn't have the leopard print - at that point she said she didn't care what color it was - the most important thing was the Snuggie itself!

So, the cynical "tween" is now a Snuggie convert!

Although I have not ventured into snuggiology as of yet I got one for DD. She is a full fledged convert.

We got 3 for Christmas! And I originally was one of the naysayers! My husband is constantly teasing me and says its just a backwards robe! But I have felt the snugishness and have been converted! I love my Snuggies. And I'm pretty sure I won't return the other two. I will keep them for back up purposes and for guests!

I got a Snuggie for Christmas as well and I LOVE it!!!

The free booklight isn't bad either!:rotfl2:

I say anyone who makes fun of us "snuggie people" just hasn't experienced the total warmth and comfort for themselves.
