This is last minute. . .for tonight. . .is there a good spot from the Boardwalk or Yacht Club to watch the fireworks portion of Illuminations? Does anyone know if they pipe the music in like they do for Wishes at the MK resorts?
Some of the very high fireworks can be seen from the bridge area at the boardwalk. You can hear some of the music,I don't remember them piping in the sound like WISHES, but I may not have been really paying attention
MOST of effects of IllumiNations take place ON (or just a few feet above) the surface of the water of the WS lagoon.
Except for the very first "Comet" firework effect, and several other major "sky-blasts", IllumiNations can't really be enjoyed from outside Epcot's World Showcase. A good 1/3rd of the show does not involve fireworks but a large "video-globe" towed across the water and tiny lights imbedded into the buildings of WS.
One favorite outside spot to view the few "sky-blasts" is on the bridge** coming toward Epcot's International Gateway from the Boardwalk Resort. You can't hear any of the music track, which is a very important part of the show.
You can't see very much either, and there will be very long periods of time where you see nothing at all.
There are a few villas at the Boardwalk that have (obstructed) views, and there are limited views from a beach at CBR, but as stated above... you will not see very much, and what you DO see can't legitimately be called "IllumiNations."

The bridge** I mentioned above is in the far-left, center of the shot.
Thanks, I am aware that it is more than fireworks . .but my wife loves the fireworks part and we have a late adr at the Yachtsman and don't know if we will back it back to the park in time.
We have watched the fireworks from the bridge by the Boardwalk several times when in the area. Agreed that you must see it inside the Park at least once during your trip but it is always a bonus to me to see even a glimpse of the fireworks when we are not in the Park. One year we rented a surrey bike and rode around, catching the fireworks on our trip. Very fun time.
We have stayed twice on the 4th floor, north side of the northernmost 50's building at Pop Century (it's very quiet there!), and you can see the high-up Epcot fireworks right over Spaceship Earth. You can also see some of Wishes farther in the distance. The grandkids were just going to bed at 9:00, but they got a kick out of seeing some of the fireworks from their window.
I wouldn't really call it a good viewing location, but for the kids, it was better than nothing...
