I have a question for those that may have done this, I'd like to sit down for a late dinner and then watch Illuminations at the Rose crown pub. The show starts at 9pm and I have a ressie for 6:55pm. Do they take ressies for later? How does the seating work, is it all outside on the patio or do you or can you request that? If we eat at that time would they allow us to stay for the show? If anyone has done this before can you tell me what your experience was like?

Thanks.

6:55 may be too early to stay seated at your table, unless you really slow down your meal, lots of drinks, appitizers and dessert!

We had a reservation at 7:45 in December and eventhough we tried to stretch it out we were still done by 9:00 and Illuminations didn't start untill 9:30. We actually left the restaurant, walked around and then returned to the Rose and Crown just as Illuninations was starting, the CM allowed us to go out onto the patio to watch. When you finish just mention that you would like to come back later and it shouldn't be a problem.

Have fun!

Book around 8pm is exactly right. You will not be guaranteed patio seating though. Definitely request it, and hopefully you get lucky. When the show starts, you can get up from your table (if the view isn't good) and walk over to the rail. It's still better than not being at the restaurant. Good luck!

Whether you will be allowed to request and wait for a table on the patio depends on the day, how busy the R&C is, how many people have already made the request and are waiting, which CM is at the podium...in others words you may or may not be able to request a patio table.

Also, not all patio tables have a view of IllumiNations. However, if you are seated inside the R&C, let your server know you want to see the fireworks and they will pace your meal accordingly. There is a viewing area adjacent to the patio that is reserved just for people dining at the R&C. Last time we ordered our desserts, went out side to the viewing area, then returned to have our desserts.

I think 6:55 is a little early, but it looks like you're not going until June so keep checking online to get a later reservation.

I agree, I think 6:55 is early for viewing Illuminations from Rose & Crown.

My guess is that the later ADR's are already taken for this reason, it is a popular reservation. I will also add that it depends on how crowded it is, the size of your party, and what your order (if you order an app, entree, dessert, another drink....) it could take longer.

I believe we had a 7:30 ADR on our first trip and we were invited to the patio as we finished our meal. And we had a 6:55 ADR on Thanksgiving and weren't seated until 7:30. We went out to watch Illuminations at 9 pm and came back in to have dessert.

This is based on my memory, which is iffy at times. We went in Nov. 2010 and ate at R&C. Our ADR was for 7pm-ish. The place was packed and they were taking walk-ups. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated. So, we were seated around 7:30pm, inside, just next to the doors to the outdoor dining area. We were finished eating (had the DxDP so had apps, meal and dessert) around 9pm. When we were exiting, our server told him to follow him (we had left him a good tip ;) ) He escorted us to their special roped off area where a young couple was nice enough to let our 2 kids in front of them to watch the show.

So, if you're going at a busy time, chances are good you'll be seated after 6:55pm and may get to see illuminations. If you are not done eating, just ask your server if you can go outside to watch the show, then return to finish. I saw people doing this while we were there.

I know people say there are better viewing opportunities but watching the show from that area was spectacular, IMO. Since then, we've watched Illuminations from in front of France and it was equally great.
