II Membership through Disney

I know we get our trades through II and have to call DVC Member Services to do these exchanges rather than searching on our own. I have been reading on TUG about access to Member Getaways on II. Do we not have access to these? Is our only connection to II the exchange we get through Disney? If there is a sighting of something available to exchange in II can we immediately call DVC MS and have a chance at getting that exchange? Are there any other advantages to our II membership affiliation that we are not utilizing fully? Thanks for any insight you can give me on this.

We do not.

I am not an expert in any sense of the word on either II or the DVC & II relationship. I do know that DVC members do not have access to all the exchanges available. DVC limits them - supposedly to the ones equivalent to DVC

I don't know about "utilizing fully", but I know DVC members do not have to pay any membership fee to II (DVC has corporate membership) and that the fee to do an exchange is less via DVC than via an individual membership.

There are several posters here who know lots about II and lots about how DVC works with II. Hope they post and give you more info.

See my post HERE it should explain fairly well. You certainly could try with the sightings but given you must call DVC during work hours and the time involved, I doubt you'd have much chance of success for anything of high demand.
