If you fly, where do you go when you get off the plane? Does Disney get your bags or do you?Where do you go if you're riding the Disney bus? Are there signs? Thanks so much!!!!!!!How far is it from the airport to the ship?

When you get off your plane, you just head in the direction of the main terminal and you will spot a DCL rep who is there to meet you and anyone else on your flight. I think I read somewhere that due to the recent security restrictions they don't meet you too close to your gate, but wait further out in the terminal. Hopefully a recent traveller can clarify that.

If you've booked your air through DCL, or informed them of the flight you've booked independently (which is what we did) they automatically collect your luggage and get it delivered to your destination. You must put the special luggage tags that they send you with your docs on each piece before you leave home so that they can identify it.

The DCL rep will direct or escort you to the place where the Disney travellers go to catch the transfer busses.

I believe it's about an hour trip from airport to port.

I remember it all going very smooth on our last trip!

What if you are doing the land/sea package? Are there separate buses that deliver to each resort?

Actually, we did do the land/sea last time. I don't think there were separate busses for each resort, as they prefer to fill up busses before leaving, and you could end up waiting quite awhile to get enough people going to just your destination. If my vague recollection is correct, they were grouped by general location.

Transferring from hotel to ship I think they try to have a bus per location, but again, that depends on the number of people leaving from each place. We had maybe 10 more people than could fit on the bus devoted to our resort, so those of us at the end of the line had to wait for a bus with some empty seats to come from another resort to get us! Even though at the time while we were waiting I was worried about getting to the ship on time, it all worked out fine. As the initial embarkation line had already cleared, we walked right on board, and had enough time to check out our room, get the Palo's ressies we wanted, eat lunch, and check the kids into the Lab.

I really think the planning and anticpating is MUCH more stressful than anything you will actully encounter on your trip. Disney really does a wonderful job and everything is handled well.

Enjoy!
