I think I'm taking a break from this place

...for a while. I haven't been on here much this weekend because we've had company.

I looked forward to checking in today after they left....and what do I find? That certain LONG thread about a recent news event is STILL ongoing & STILL on page 1. (YES, I know where the back button is.)

I thought folks around here were different than other websites. I always felt people were nice here & not too judgemental. You could always get a hug or a prayer. Guess I was wrong. I know it's not everyone.

I'm sure I'll be back when things get nicer. I'm even sure I may pop in to lurk. But don't think you'll see me around the COMMUNITY BOARD too much for a while.

Sure no one will even miss me anyway.

Been there! There are both good and bad everywhere and also good and bad in EVERYBODY! I thought I could leave last week but I have so many close close friends here who I wouldn't trade for anything. I have learned some very valuable lessons over this last week.

1. There is good and bad in everyone!!
2. Don't assume anything, sometimes people you think are friends aren't and won't support you and honestly don't care one bit.
3. I've learned that just because something seems right at the time doesn't make it right. I've done some things I seriously regret in the past few days, but I can't change them so I'll forget and move on and think and not act on emotions next time.

But the most important thing that I've learned and it sounds like it may help you too,

IF YOU CAN'T SEE IT, IT CAN'T HURT YOU!!!!! Use the ignore button!!! IGNORE THE PEOPLE YOU CAN'T GET ALONG WITH AND AGREE WITH!!!

Just post on threads that are from people you like and support and ignore everything else!!

Most people here are very nice and sincere, but it would be difficult to find a thread of a controversial nature that everyone would agree on. Sorry that you were offended by some, but remember, if we all agreed on everything, it would make the world a rather boring place, eh?

I too would hate to see you leave! especially if you leave the scrap board! I love you input and seeing your layouts! I have found that I just don't open threads or if I do I close them quickly! Some people on here do like to stir the pot!

I understand the need for a break from this place, I've done it many times over the years. This is a time of tension and I think everyone is feeling it.

Try not to stay away too long, come back anytime and I promise you'll always get a hug or kind word from me.

I will definitely miss you SplshMnt99. I've always seen you as someone with something kind to say and someone who liked to have fun. You will certainly be missed! I understand taking a break, I've done it a couple of times. It really helps! Hopefully you'll come back refreshed and ready to have fun again. Maybe a long, warm, scented bath will help you de-stress before work tomorrow. See you when you come back! Hopefully very soon!

As a number have said here, Joanne, a break from here, just as in real life, is good for what aches at times. But these boards are also good for what aches at other times.
