I think I am ready to add-on VGC

I have been thinking about add-on 50 points at The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian for a while now. This will be my first time adding on since our original 160 points at AKL. Do you all have any advice for me before I pick up the phone and call the guide?

I am planning to put $1700 down and get the 5 years finance from Disney 10.75%APR.

Am I doing the right thing?

You may want to check any incentives. We added on 100 points at VGC last August while onboard the Disney Magic because it was the minimum required to get the best incentive. I'm not sure though if that's still the case. You would also want to check the points charts, figure out how many nights you'd want to stay per year and in what kind of villa, then be sure you'd have enough for your planned usage.Congratulations!---Kathy

Does anyone know when the annual due starts when you add on? And since the guide said they will give me the 2009 points, does it means I have to pay last year's due as well??

Sadly, my car has started making weird noises. I forsee a large bill in my future. It's old, but paid for...think I better save my $$ for that.

The 2009 points will not have any dues. The 2010 will be prorated from the date of your contract.

Yeah I did "tried" to watch the webcast. Since I heard it is getting harder and harder to get a reservation during high season at VGC, I think I should act now. Afterall, they have only 48 units, unlike WDW which has 1000s of rooms available, I want to make sure I get a room there when I want to go. And since I only go to the west coast once every 3 years or so, plus I got friends I can stay with in LA, 50 points seems to be enough.

I live in Canada, we have a US$ account with the US TD Bank, we will do the direct debt option. I wonder if I am qualify as International member or just member.
