:cool1:

Madonna will be dancing and singing across the stages of the world this spring and summer, it was announced today. The Confessions Tour with concerts across major US cities, Canada, Europe and Japan will begin in Los Angeles on May 21st. Confessions tour dates were officially confirmed by Madonna managers Angela Becker and Guy Oseary, along with Arthur Fogel, President of The Next Adventure (a Live Nation Company), the tours worldwide promoter.

Tour stops in North America for the Confessions Tour will include arenas in Chicago, Boston, San Jose, Phoenix, Fresno, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Miami, Montreal and New York. Overseas appearances will take place in arenas, stadiums and outdoor venues in Paris, France; Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Cardiff, Wales; Rome, Italy; Dusseldorf and Hannover Germany; Horsens, Denmark; Osaka and Tokyo Japan.

:yay:

The Confessions Tour will be directed by longtime Madonna collaborator Jamie King with Stuart Price once again on board as Musical Director. Arianne Phillips and Jean Paul Gaultier, long standing members of Madonna's creative team, will respectively oversee and design costumes for the tour.

Madonna's previous tour, the 2004 Re-Invention Tour was the most successful tour of that year, according to Billboard Magazine.

The Warner Bros. Records mega star, whose current CD Confessions on a Dance Floor debuted at No.1 in 29 countries, has already begun rehearsals in Los Angeles with her talented troupe of musicians and dancers. With a staggering 35 No. 1 hits on Billboard dance charts during the course of her unparalleled career, it's no surprise that Madonna issued the following mission statement regarding the Confessions Tour: I'm going to turn the world into one big dance floor, exhorted the Material Girl.

The multi-Grammy Award winning artist, songwriter, childrens book author, producer and video visionary with an unrivaled reputation for astonishing stage spectacles, has made musical history many times over including international record sales of over 200 million albums. Yes - I'm a little excited! I've never missed a Madonna tour! :smooth:

Very cool! While I'm not the biggest Madonna fan in the world, I certainly know what it's like when a favorite musician or band FINALLY announces longawaited tour dates! Yay for all the Madonna fans! :)

someone told me they heard it was Monday

I'm so bummed - no Atlanta date. I've gone to see her last two tours (Drowned World and Re-Invention) and the shows were incredible. Also saw the Virgin tour in 1985 ... boy does that make me feel old!!

I still have my "Like a Virgin" concert Tshirt (when Beastie Boys opened for her). No longer a medium, but can still wear my "Who's that Girl?" concert shirts (much to the embarrassment of my partner).

I also can't believe no Atlanta dates!

I was at the Like A Virgin Concert in the 2nd row! Same for Whos That Girl at Giant Stadium - It Poured too that night! Remember Level 42 opened up?

Then I had to resort to 3rd row for the Blonde Ambition Tour. Sat right next to the Runway for the Girlie Show. ( I could have bought lots of DVC for the money I dished out! ). Then for the Drowned World Tour - My friends no longer had contacts.... I had to pay an obscene amount of money to sit in teh second floor section. Wasn't bad - but definitely not worth the money. Then the reinvention Tour I got 14th row for Philly. NYC Sold out too quick!

Ok so I'm a bit obsessed! :rotfl2:

Ya Think? :rotfl:

Tony, are you a little excited???

We all have our own little obsessions, she just happens to be yours.

Hope you score great tix.

I happen to be counting down til my Jimmy Buffet '06 experience, so I know how you feel.

ECurto - Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday 4/10 at 9am for most dates. Check Ticketmaster.com though, I think some dates may have a different on-sale date/time.

I saw Drowned World in DC and Reinvention Tour in NYC, and will be seeing this one in NYC as well. Send me a little self-control pixie dust to not spend an insane amount of money on tickets, lol.

I am soooo excited about seeing Madonna again :cool1:. DP and I saw her in Philly for the DW tour and in Toronto for the Reinvention tour (that was the best concert I have ever been too). Can't wait to see what Madge pulls for this one. We always have to travel to see any good concerts or shows since no one ever stops in Syracuse, NY (although Margaret Cho is coming next week, and we have front row seats ). We'll probably end up at the NYC or Boston concert, depending on schedule. We're gonna have to start planning really quickly though if we wanna get seats!

For those of you still hooked on "Madge"
Crikey! You'll be over the moon for this news-

BBC AMERICA - Madonna: Live
Premieres Saturday, April 15th, 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

As for me ... I'll wait for Prince

Prince? is that his name now???? ;)

Hey now I have to go and see what this Madonna Live is all about!

Thanks for the heads up!

Spent three hours online and on the phone attempting to get tickets for the Madge show that i later learned sold out in 40 minutes: June 21 & 22 in Montreal are now completely sold out :sad2:

Tickets are already reching the 1000$ mark on ebay. I will beg a client at Clear Channel for mercy and a good seat, but I think my best bet is to hope for a 3-4 night inMontreal. schedule permits it and after all it is the only Canadian date...

Good for you for trying Gen! I thought about it, but then realized I might as well not get my hopes up, and then ended up sleeping through the whole event. Oh well....

Well I am getting some good indications for a 3rd night at the Bell Centre, so I will be on high alert. I can rup from my office to the Spectrum box office in 30 seconds flat so as soon as somethin' is anounced: I am all over it!!! Even though Val is having a hard time agreeing with the ticket prices.... :rolleyes1

Wow, you are very excited. Madonna is VERY cool.

So wait - they went on sale already for Montreal? I can't wait for tomorrow. I've been trying to won tickets this weekend from the radio. I've been also fighting a cold so I'm sure I missed a bunch of chances LOL.

Just some background, at one time probably one of biggest Madonna fans on the planet. When I was a freshman in high school, and I wore Madonna shirts to school everyday. All the CD's and tapes I owned were hers, and my room was plastered wall to wall with her pictures and posters. I was obsessed.

By the time I heard the Girlie Show was coming to Philadelphia the tickets were already sold out. My Mom called ticketmaster everyday and finally managed to get me two obstructed view nosebleed tickets that had been released a couple days before the show. Don't know how or why it happened but there was a dude from Madonna's tour management up there handing out upgrade slips. The seats he gave us were front row center on the floor, directly in front of the runway and they said "Band" on them. We went from the worst seats in the house to the best, truly an experience of a lifetime.

Fast forward eight years, and the Drowned World tour was announced. There was a huge buzz surrounding this one since she hadn't toured in so long. Without blinking an eye, I bought presale tickets through AOL for me and my boyfriend (1st row lower level seats). We even went to go see her backup singers Donna and Nikki at Shampoo nightclub the night before. It was a great show, but a lot of people were dissapointed that she skipped her classics. She had changed so much during the interlude, having a child, turning british ya know. I guess I had changed too by expanding my musical taste. The show was great but nothing like the first time I saw her.

Couple years later, the Reinvention Tour is announced. At this point she is no longer at the top of my list musically, but something inside me just goes crazy again and I have to see her. Funny I ended up going to the Philly show with my pen-pal from the Madonna Fan Club from when I was 15. We actually never met before but used to write to eachother. Very cute story, and I'm glad it worked out the way it did. There was only a couple times during that show I felt moved, but I had seen several other awesome performers live since then, and this was my third time seeing her afterall.

The Confessions Tour has been floating on the edge of my radar for awhile now. She confirmed the tour on the Ellen show months ago, but rumors were flying on the internet even before that. My boyfriend doesn't want to go unless we get good seats. Sadly the ticket prices are really outrageous again, worse than last time. We have a 7 day Disney World trip booked for October that I have to pay off by August. With the $500 or so I would spend on concert tickets we could get a transfer and do a day trip to Universal. Yes she's awesome, but I'm going to skip her this time around. I hope I don't regret it.

Hey brendrek - Where in NJ? I saw the reinvention tour in Philly on July 4th... Great show - good seats. The tickets are the same price this concert - although yes very expensive. I wasn't crazy about the Drowned World Tour either. I have a feeling the same thing is going to happen with the tickets this time as the drowned world tour - they sold out so fast - I had to go through a ticket broker and pay lots and lots of money.... I wont do that ttime...
