I have no idea what the first movie dh and I saw together. We became a couple in high school, the weekend I had a drunken Halloween costume bash at my house (my mom was out of town LOL). I was seeing someone else (two others actually) and dh was dumb enough to wait for me to smarten up and choose him. That was 33 years ago :-)

The first date things are cracking me up. I just asked DH if we even had a first date. lol We kind of just were friends then more than friends. Met in college when we were poor, so didn't really have money for movies. I think we may have seen 10 movies together in all our years together. (24 years married next week). We are not big movie people. Or date people. We pretty boring. I do remember going to see a James Bond movie right before DD was born as a "last date" lol. Had to look it up, it was Tomorrow Never Dies.
Our first date was a car ride lol. We are from a small town and the only cool thing to do with your bf/gf is go on long car rides around town. We started dating in high school. The first movie I remember seeing together was either tron in 3D or Charlie St. Cloud. I can’t remember which one came first

First date with DH was a concert. I remember it as John Fogerty and he remembers Bonnie Raitt. So I guess they were touring together?

I'm one of the older ones here to I think. Empty nesters, DH retired. My mom was over 40 when she had me 56 years ago (youngest of a large Irish Catholic family)

LOL, Calypso--that was my thought, too. I could watch "my moon and stars" read a grocery list for two hours :) Glad to hear Haley R. that his acting wasn't bad--I was wondering about that. But disappointing about the movie!
His lines were pretty funny and he wasn’t as cheesy. I’m not sure any movies that just came out are worth seeing

Trying to figure out how to create a AA account for my husband... He got the AA credit card with an AAdvanatge# on it. How do I create an aa.com account with that number? I can't find anywhere how to start an account if you already have a #???

I've tried that, but it says "your account doesn't have an email address"

Unless someone else knows, I would contact them. I can't find anything in their FAQ's or with a few different google searches on how to do it if you already have the number. Has he gotten his aa advantage card in the mail (is that even still a thing) or just the credit card with the mileage number? Maybe there's more information on how to do it that will come.

Thanks! I did just call web support. She didn't understand why I was getting that message since she had an email attached to the account. They sent a temp password to the email and we are all set up. Now just to wait till his bonus points post!

ETA: lol, just got an email from Varo saying they reached out to their promotions team and to keep an eye out for an email with my link. No timeframe given on how long that will be. Looks like this email for your own link might actually work!
Did you get your Varo link? How long after that message? I just received that same reply.

My push from Chase still hasn't hit either, I'm sure holidays are about to come into play as well. Gave DH back his Iphone, Varo looks perfect on my Android.

I went into NYC yesterday to see Mickey: The True Original Exhibition. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone in the area or planning to visit NYC. If you buy something in the gift shop you also get a 20% off coupon good through 3/30 for 1 item at the Disney Store in Times Square which sells exclusive Disney NYC stuff.

When I went to buy my train ticket one of my friends exclaimed "you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve?!" as I pulled it out of my wallet. Apparently she was very excited to see one being used on travel and she shared how she had applied for the great rewards and been declined. I never thought anyone would notice what I was paying with let alone recognize it and its reward structure. haha

I just wasted 2 1/2 hours of my life. We went and saw aquaman. It was one of the worst, if not the worst, movie I have ever seen. I asked Dh multiple times if we could leave. I’m never following rotten tomato reviews again. I literally gave it 1/2 a star out of 5 lol. It was like a really low budget 90s power ranger movie. That’s the only way I can describe it
We loved aqua man. Different strokes I guess lol..

Just booked our Airbnbs in Rome and Venice for our spring break 2020 trip to Italy. We are spending 6 nights in Rome with a day trip to Florence and two nights in Venice. DH and I will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary that year. Yes, we are taking the kids so need to find cost effective flights for 4. I’m not sure we’ll have enough miles for 4 tickets before May 2019 when award flights open up. I also need direct flights as DH is a nervous flyer so multiple flights/layovers is not an option.

Luckily, Norwegian Air has very reasonable flights from EWR.. direct to Rome, some for as low as $350 round trip! However this particular airline doesn’t have the best reviews and who knows if they’ll be around for our trip lol..

I signed up for scottscheapflights premium to get flight alerts for my trip.

First trip to Italy and so so excited!

Oooooh one of those sorts of things ;) HAHAHAHA!

I would advise against buying Norwegian tickets if you were going May 2019 until you see what happens with them and their debts. They may be much better off than they are now by the time you can buy tickets for 2020.

I've been in downsizing hell for the past two months, and I've finally gotten a chance to catch up in the last couple of days. In random order ...

First movie date: Beauty and Beast. I think I saw someone else had this, too :)

Travel hacking plans:

January: Heading to WDW with my family and @Calfan for the WDW Marathon Weekend. We tinkered with the idea of doing the Dopey, but sanity prevailed and we are "just" doing the half. We are in between companion passes on this one so we are (horrors!) paying for all our airfare on SWA. My CP finished in 2018 and DH is currently in Chase purgatory. He was approved for the Business a couple months ago. A couple weeks ago while in Maui with Calfan and her husband we decided to try the link for the 50k for the priority personal card. Stupidly I forgot that we had our credit frozen, and he wasn't approved immediately. After lifting the credit he was asked TONS of questions, and told that it needed to go for second approval. The whole thing is pretty ridiculous given his numbers, but I really think the self-employed thing is hard no matter how much $$ you make. They prefer an employer with a fixed income. Anyway, he's had the 30 day message for a long time. I don't want to jump the gun on the reconsideration line so I'm trying to be patient.

February: London for ski week. We just bought a timeshare in London and this will be our first stay. So excited! Hopefully we won't have to change our dates, but it may overlap with our house being on the market. The nice thing is that we can move it up to two weeks ahead of time. I've been scanning for airfare, and I'm holding off until we are 100%, Right now the best option looks like premium economy on VS using URs or possibly gambling on a United upgrade.

April: back to WDW with family and @Calfan for Star Wars Half. Hopefully DH's CP will be operational. If not, we'll get DS's ticket with the points from the SW business card. Probably head to Maui with DD for her spring break for a week.

May: My epic British Isles/Faroes trip through an Alumni travel group with a friend for 3+ weeks. The Faroes are my #1 bucket list. As @Calpyso and @Calfan can attest, I was so bummed when our Disney Norway/Iceland cruise a couple years ago changed ports from the Faroes to Orkney. I've been to the Orkeny's four times, LOL. I'm supposed to go to St. Michael's Skellig (Star Wars island), too, but I think it's been closed to tourists so well see. I'm flying BA 1st class with Avios one way using Alaska miles (& $544) that I received from a Marriott Flight and stay plan, and I scored a unicorn on Delta the other way: Virgin Atlantic Upper class for 75,000 sky pesos and $5. I knew these existed, but I couldn't believe I finally found one.

June: London to pick up our daughter who is attending university in England (and our second stay at our timeshare). I'm planning to do United in business over there using the everyday miles (155k) and keep an eye out for savers. Back we will do savers in coach and pay for the upgrade with points and cash. They might not clear, but I'll keep an eye on our flights and hopefully something will open last minute.

July: ABD Japan! So excited for this trip. Wish we could have overlapped with Calypso but we were limited in when we could go because DD has to do a summer dig. I was able to get 3/4 of the legs in first class through a combination of Avios on JAL (DD and me are first class both ways) and Virgin Atlantic's incredible deal for ANA one way in business and one way in first. We have already looked at the alcohol list, LOL, and DD and I can't wait to toast with our Cristal! DH is looking forward to his $400 whisky. And the best part for me .... jammies! Since I did all the work, I made DH agree to give me his ANA jammies so I can compare :) All four of us were originally booked on the same JAL flights (two in first and two in business), but when the VS deal with ANA opened up DH and DS decided to switch to try out the first class. We will be coming/going from different Tokyo airports, but we figured it was worth the added hassle.Right now I"m debating on whether to stay at the Tokyo Grand Hyatt for our pre-nights on points or pay for the Tokyo Station hotel with URs. The Tokyo Station hotel is more convenient for both airports, but the Hyatt is a bucket list after Lost in Translation :)

September: back to London to take DD back to school. We may stay in timeshare, but haven't decided. Hoping to use Alaska miles for American or BA business going and United saver economy back.

Nov/Dec: London and Maui, but haven't decided which in which month. My mom has a place in Maui so we don't have to plan.

Fun to see everyone's plans.
