Just another perspective, but I've been transferring UR to Southwest even though I have a CSR. I've gotten 1.27-1.37 cents per point. It's less than the 1.5 through Chase Travel, but flexibility is king to me these days. If I did it through Chase Travel, it would be a cash ticket. If I had to cancel, I would get travel fund that expires in a year. But a points booking, I can get all the points back that don't expire, plus the tax refunded too.

I'm willing to pay for flexibility these days. I even bought a fully refundable United ticket recently for $50 extra/ticket (compared to the regular economy, not the basic economy). Would have never done that in the before times.
Funny, and I have been booking cash fares so DH can maintain A list. Only 2 more flights to go. I have become spoiled with it.

Our Maui Residence Inn reservations for 7/22 dropped in points recently. Check your Marriott reservations.
I almost switched over to Wailea Beach Resort, since we would only need to transfer 7,500 URs over to Marriott, but that means we would also have to pay $440 in resort fee for 2 rooms. We won’t be spending too much time in our rooms anyways so I hope the Residence Inn doesn’t disappoint.

I have a CIP which I opened in Jan 2021. Can I downgrade to a CIC now? Too soon? If I do, should I call? Applied for a CIC in May but was denied. Thanks.

Am I late to the party on the ability to share AMEX offers?
I have a Bare Minerals offer on one of my Delta cards on my account, and on my BBP. I need to use both, but have MSR to meet on both mine and DH Delta cards. I was able to share the offer and add it to his Delta card. I have never seen this before!

This is something I don't usually remember to do. I am always checking my rental car price. Do you just check every so often or does something prompt you?

Uggh struggling to get my Bonvoy FNC back. I cancelled one night in Whitefish, MT. I supplied the cancellation #. First email says - yes you have a FNC. I go check, it isn't showing in my account and if I try to book a room (<35Kpoints), it doesn't give me an option to book with a FNC. Email again and now am asked which property I cancelled. I would have thought supplying the cancellation # would have helped. (I know first world problems).

I have to call about every time to get my FNC back, so annoying.

I guess the CSP has new benefits. Just logged into the CSP travel portal and I saw this:
New! $50 Annual Ultimate Rewards® Hotel Credit
Earn a $50 Annual Hotel Credit on stays purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards® using your Sapphire Preferred® card.

5x on travel through Ultimate Rewards*
10% Anniversary Points Boost*
3x points on dining*
3x points on select streaming services*
3x points on online grocery purchases*
I noticed this yesterday. I am a few days behind on reading so I wasn't sure if the info had been posted yet so I didn't say anything, lol. I will be curious how it goes using the credit. It seems to me like to use it you have to book through the Ultimate Rewards Portal, which I have only done once, but it wasn't the greatest experience. Does anyone know if we will be able to use UR's to book and this would reimburse the UR's, or is it only for $ bookings?

I’ve never used points for hotel stays so pardon my lack of experience but how does one begin? I have UR points and will be visiting Germany for 2 months this Fall. Mostly staying with my daughter and son in law but may do a little traveling (Disneyland Paris, maybe Switzerland). Should I apply for a hotel credit card? Any great offers at the moment? I’m 3/24 with Chase- last card was united Quest in early June.

you probably gonna need to wait for next month.
you said its a reserve or a preferred. if its a reserve, i wouldnt suggest transferring it to SW as you can get a higher value on the portal at 1.5. sw is like between 1-1.4 at the highest. u also lose your flexibility.
I've always gotten 1.3 for SWRR points, but to me the benefit of having it in points is if I need to make any changes to the flights. If I cancel I get all the points back rather than a TF, if I reprice I get all of the points back rather than a small TF for each person on the reservation. I fly enough that I could use my TF, my kids not so much. I don't speculatively transfer my UR, but transfer enough to cover my spend right before I make the reservation.

UR transfer to Hyatt 1:1 and often you can get more than 1.5 cent per point value. I'd start there, see if any Hyatt locations work for you and if the cash cost to points is worth it.

Or you can go through the Chase travel portal at 1.25 cpp CSP/CIP or 1.5 if you have the CSR.

If any Hiltons interest you, you can look at one of the Amex Hilton cards. There's a biz version if you don't want to take up a 5/24 spot.

Step 1: Make sure you register with each hotel chain and have a rewards number/online account for booking stays. If you apply for any co-branded cards (Chase Hyatt/Marriott or Amex Hilton/Marriott), you will include your rewards number on the application so that points earned as a sign up bonus are directly deposited into your account.

Step 2: Map out your favorite hotels in the area you are staying. If it's a major brand (Marriott/Hilton/Hyatt) you can design a card/sign up bonus strategy around those hotels. Otherwise, look to the Ultimate Rewards portal to see if your chosen hotel is offered and then consider getting the CSR for 1.5x redemption rates or CSP for 1.25x redemption rates.

At 3/24, you should try to maximize the number of business cards you get before crossing over. You could also consider subsidizing your flight to Germany with airline miles instead of just focus on hotels. Also, although the transfer rates are bad, some airlines will allow transfers to hotel points (if you're just short of a redemption goal). If you can hit the larger minimum spending requirements, Amex business charge cards that offer Membership Rewards would be great for transferring to airlines that fly internationally. Amex MR can also transfer to Hilton at 2:1 or 3:1 during a promotion. The Resy Gold card offer (https://resy.com/amex-offers?date=2021-08-17&seats=2) of 60,000 MR and $250 cash back on restaurant purchases for $4,000 spend is one of the best bang for your buck offers out there. The Platinum offer is great too, but has a higher spend and you would need to maximize the credits to offset the higher annual fee.

Just to be clear, you have to spend $1250 to get the $250 back (at 20% off). Is it all restaurants, as in McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A etc, or a super specific list like the 15x on the Plat offer you posted earlier? I didn’t see any disclaimers on it but I wasn’t sure.
