This morning Chase sent me a balance transfer offer on my Chase Freedom! 0% until 2021.

Then a little later I get 4.9% offer to reduce my interest to on my Marriott Bonvoy visa.

Chase is looking for business anywhere. I have no balances. And not going to charge up on my Marriott.

Yep

Trying to figure out what to do now that classes will be online for the 2 weeks after spring break (break is next week)---I think I'll have her fly to PHL with her sibs while dh and I drive home (he has to visit clients). And then, I guess she'll fly to IND? Or I'll drive her out?

Saw it posted on our parent group since it hits closer to home. I am just confused on what this is supposed to be doing with all these universities going virtual for just a few weeks. Because chances are they are not staying put so they are just being exposed somewhere else and then it is the circle that never ends.

That was kinda what my dh said (our kids are all grown) is they should actually be keeping all the kids locked down at school LOL, most of them won't get that sick, and then they wouldn't be out and about getting exposed everywhere else.

Well, I think any university is concerned about how quickly the virus could spread within a closed community like a residential campus, and I think they would not want to act in loco parentis at that point. I expect that some schools will continue with online classes only after this period of time, depending on their outside community---like Harvard is doing.

Ours are currently on spring break, so if they tell them not to come back then no one is going to have any of their stuff needed to even do online classes. It is a mess.

I just saw Purdue posted too, so feel it is a matter of time. DD said she thought she is supposed to get an update tonight.

Yeah, this situation would be difficult!

Just a super quick checkin. I haven’t been able to keep up here. Spotty internet and cell service. Below normal temps in Joshua Tree 40 in the morning and 50 in the day time. Below normal for first full day in Death Valley 67 and it rained!!! Have a picture at Dante’s View where it was 45 and raining on me. I prefer DV to JT. The colors and different geology Are out of this world. Just so much to see; it is amazing.

My knee is not doing well. Had to cut a few hikes short and ice it in the car driving back to the hotels. Don’t worry DS was driving. I was in pain in the passenger seat with the ice bag. It might be time for me to acknowledge this might be my future with my knee. I’ll be seeing the Dr sometime when I get back to go over options.

To make this credit card related. Working on BBP MSR and has worked well except a 2 gas stations where it said it took Amex but for some reason it didn’t work. Oh and sticker shock at the gas pump. I left OH where it was 1.85. Here in S.Ca it is 4.45. o_O

While they are younger that doesn't mean none of the students are high risk and then there's the staff. It's one thing if you live off campus but there's no way I'd have survived with the roomates I had or the other people on my floor if I was stuck in the dorms for 2 weeks. And our caf food was awful, forget the freshman 15 I prob lost 5lbs when I started because of what I couldn't eat because it made me sick. We used to joke that prisons got better food. I had a 10 meal a week plan and in my 2 years on campus I used all 10 once.

I think the one thing the nursing home up here taught us is it'll spread fast to everyone in the right kind of environment. There's no way they werr cleaning the dorms as clean as they should and our rooms were our reaponsibility so it makes sense to me. My alma mater is shutting down and doing online classes and I expect more will.

What surprises me more is the counties and cities banning large events in other states but nothing here yet. But most of our cases are relating to that nursing home so maybe it kinda makes sense. My mom at least is being aware of where she's going and what she's doing.

Yup DD's school just closed. They want them out by March 20th at the latest.

On these school closings, I get it. Who knows where these kids have been on spring break. My coworker and her family (including her brother who is in college) went to France. IMO they all should self quarantine for two weeks. We are not allowing her back in the office for two weeks. I get what an inconvenience this is. But we can be like China and contain this and get rid of it fairly quickly or we can spread it around forever (or until it gets warm and humid). I think the latter will cause a lot more economic damage and cost a lot more lives.

ETA: And I know some school districts are making rules like if you've left the country for spring break you cannot come to school for two weeks (saw mention of it on a Disney Cruise Facebook page). But then you have to trust people to follow the rules. And we've already heard some ridiculous stories of people asked to self-quarantine who exposed or may have exposed numerous others.
