That's hubby's family "It's all about the sides" is literally their mantra. They'd get a 20 lbs turkey for 16 people and eat it all weekend (3 nights plus a little left for turkey soup). The one year I counted 4 different types of stuffing, another year there were enough pies for each adult to have one for themselves (they were eating pie for breakfast just to make a dent in it. It's fruit right?). Plus we celebrate a couple birthdays so there's a cake too. (Couldn't sell putting a candle in one of the pies)
After all these years I'm still not sure how they always manage to fit it all on the table.

And sometimes Mom would go crazy and go bigger, I think the record was 26 lbs? She did agree that it was too big but not because of the amount - she didn't like the cook on it so she agreed we should stick with a smaller bird. We cook for a small army but we like leftovers.
