Do I need separate accounts for my CIP and my CF? My CIP just arrived (yay!) but it’s not showing up in my regular chase account. Do I need to make a new one since it’s biz?
YES, You'll initially need to create a separate account. Once it's established though, you can have Chase link your personal cards to that new login so you can see all from one spot. (At that point, both logins will actually remain working: one showing all your cards, and the old one showing only personal cards)

Nice!!! PR is totally on my radar. Was there a lot for your kids to do at the resort?
Just the pool & beach, they didn't have activities or a kids club or anything like that. I think for the most part places in PR are standard hotels as opposed to resorts with a ton of amenities, activities, etc. There's so much to do on the island though; we went to the rainforest one day, caves another day, and went into Old San Juan on two separate days to see the two forts and walk around.

That is a gorgeous view!!!! Love it! I've thought about PR for us as well since no passport needed and the PR people I've met here have always been so lovely. May have look more seriously at it. I've shelved Japan for awhile, and while Hawaii is still of interest, it's so expensive. Thanks for sharing about your trip!
You're welcome! If you have any more specific questions or want tips/recommendations, feel free to PM me.

Back from a week away in PR and catching up with all your posts
Where in PR were you? We were in San Juan last week - it was our first time there but we loved it & definitely want to go back!

Sounds like the same one we went to. Between my message and DH's trying twice we have not been able to get any resolution. They keep saying they will fix it, but they don't. Let me know if you get a better response? I could tell that the person I was messaging had no idea what he was doing (later confirmed by a follow up phone call where he had flagged the wrong restaurant as not giving me 4x). I'll post if my credit ever hits my account.

ETA- Spoke too soon. Just checked and that $10 finally posted. Guess DH's last msg made a difference? Honestly I was willing to let the $10 slide, but since we don't have a Ruth's Chris nearby and the local CFF closed I found it really annoying that Shake Shack wasn't crediting. Still not sure if it will in the future, though. I guess time will tell.

I chatted again and the woman manually put in the $10 credit. She assured me it was a one time glitch that it hadn't posted. Anyone want to take a bet on that? LOL!

So I’m actually having a conversation about this on a different thread. There’s a poster saying they book for their friends who stay offsite. That just doesn’t seem right to me.

ETA: Which apparently is allowed. I just looked at the fp faq thread and as long as they are linked to your mde you can book fps for them. I didn’t know that

Whhaatttt???? That needs to be shut down for sure.

My corrected Chase 1099 arrived. My csp went from $600 to $105 and my freedom from $510 to $15.
Whew - what a relief that must be that they got it right! (I'm not affected by this) but thanks for sharing for all those looking for corrections. It's a SHAME Chase made the mistake in the first place but glad they corrected it.

Let me ask this though...are those the ONLY things on your 1099 from Chase? So you now have a 1099 for $120?

Thank you! We actually just landed.! I had the barf bag in hand because it was rough! Several others had theirs open, although I don’t think anyone actually got sick.
Now I’m just hoping I return home to power!

Yay! Glad to hear you made it safe and sound. We had an outage here for maybe a minute, but it's hard to tell if it's something the wind did or something the electrical contractors working on some public lines near here did. Fingers crossed your property makes it as safe as well :)

Yes you need to step up a business account...then if you want combine the cards you can call Chase...I’ve just kept mine separate

No. I maxed out referrals on my Disney card and I have $15 for my Amazon card (no idea from what). I think the Freedom should only be $5, but at this point I'm not arguing. I'm just glad I can finally do my taxes since I overpaid my estimates during a plastiq promotion.

Awesome! Did you rent a car?

That's what mine said for almost 24 hours before it was approved! From what I was told on r/churning - if you aren't auto-denied by Citi you're probably approved. A bunch of folks recommended I call and just push it through but I elected to wait for the system to do its thing.
Ok good!! I think I’ll ride it out too....

Ok - makes sense. I wonder for folks who would’ve been under $600 without the snag, what will they see? A correction to $0 or will they get “penalized” somewhat by Chase’s mistake.

I find them on the BA site. However, keep in mind BA releases award availability at 355 days out but JAL doesn’t until 330 so that could be a factor. On BA, availability can or won’t show up depending on how you search. If I search for economy I won’t see first but may see premium economy and business. You have to play with it. That said, if it is showing up on AS then it should be books me with AA unless it’s phantom availability. I’d call with the flight info and try to book.
Thanks! I'm definitely going to call to play around with it too. I'm feeling a lot better after playing more with the BA and Alaska websites looking out of JFK instead of IAD, and I actually think out of JFK is a better flight since it's direct. I'm happy to just take the hour and a half flight from our house to JFK and leave from there instead of IAD. There must be very limited JAL flights out of IAD.

Interestingly, I see way more first class award availability than business. Not that I'd mind first! Just need to secure some more AA miles...

Apparently, JAL changed their booking window to 360 days out:

Lain beat me to it since I got way behind on the thread, but yes, JAL's booking window is now 360 days, which gives JAL mileage club members a 5-day advantage over those trying to use BA miles to book.

Not sure anyone answered your amex question. I’m pretty sure I read they are now giving pop ups if your ineligible for a bonus (like the crazy Marriott limits)

Thanks! Yep, since they have two pop ups, one for if you had a card before and one for if they thinking your gaming, we figured we should at least know before putting the app in. But I'm mostly wondering for planning spends, like should I bother trying to figure out how to come up with the spend or not if they release it and it is awesome. Since he'll have just closed the card the 7 year rule/glitch won't come in to play I don't think since I thought it's having the card closed for that time. (unless I'm wrong about that)

Regardless I think he's convinced to finally close it (Yay!) now that he has another MR earning card (with no AF at all, no less!) and I've proved to him it'll still count towards his AAoA. That's been a feat several years in the making. I like to have a plan lined up, though, as we don't have tons of organic spend so I can't be as willy nilly as last year when we had special projects that went for MSR's and organic spend could be used for categories and such (and I'm not at the point where I'm willing to pay the fees of MS to meet MSRs. I like my travel a near as free as possible, hehe) Unfortunately I have to be strategic now. (No fun. I agree with @GlamMistress I should have taken more advantage before in the days of picking up any card you wanted since I wasn't a deadbeat )

I won't be taking that bet. Since we both had the same issue, at the same SShack, I'm guessing it's still going to be an issue. Annoying since I'm in that area all the time but I have to make an extra effort to get to where the closest CCF is. I hope they add a few more restaurants into this mix, and soon.

Sorry for all the questions but if I make 3 large-ish charges ($300+ each) today on my brand new CIP will it get flagged? Don’t want to mess this up, but it’s perfect timing with a bunch of insurance bills due next month. Anxious to hit that 3K spend bonus!

I wouldn't either, LOL. I think I'll be using mine mostly on Grubhub. We don't order in food very often, but I could see doing it once a month. Disappointing about Shake Shack in Palo Alto though. It's not super convenient, but we go to that mall often enough to make it work. I hope they had more restaurants soon, too.

Large...might be a concern. Your definition of "Large-ish" - you should be fine! If you said they were all $1,000+ I'd probably give a slightly different answer.
