Using AA Miles to pay for Disney Vacations
- Go to this website: https://www.useaamiles.com/carhotel/
- If you aren't logged in you'll want to do so - when not logged in you will see the following message:
- Log In Now: AAdvantage® elite status members and co-branded credit cardholders enjoy exclusive rates.
That is absolutely true - the rates are significantly lower if you qualify!
- Do a Hotel search for dates for Orlando Florida. When they come up there will be numerous resorts...
- Type in “Disney’s” into the filter box to only pull Disney Resorts (make sure to include the 's as some off-property hotels use the word Disney in their description
- Then check out what's available!
- If Disney is running a room only promotion, those rates will kick in too so you can stack a Disney discount with using AA Miles
- You'll find that AA Miles are worth 1cpp towards hotels (but only 0.6cpp if you aren't logged in and/or don't qualify for the exclusive rates)
Here's a couple of examples:
TRAVEL DATES 11/2 – 11/7
Yacht Club – Garden or Woods View
- $2,945.25 on Disney website (no promo rate)
- 296,000 AA Miles when logged in (1cpp)
- 493,200 AA Miles not logged in (0.6cpp)
TRAVEL DATES 9/9 – 9/14
Pop Century – Standard View
- $608.41 – Sun and Fun Offer on Disney site (promo rate)
- 61,200 AA Miles when logged in (1cpp)
- 101,900 AA Miles not logged in (0.6cpp)
So you can see that the ~1cpp holds on both regular pricing and promotional rates. Hotel availability may vary from the Disney site BUT a ton of hotels were available on the Sept dates.

CAN I ADD DINING AND TICKETS?
If others want to do more research on this...have at it. It appears to me that you
CAN add tickets and dining but you have to be booking an AA package. That means you need to be booking one of the following combos:
- Flight + Hotel
- Hotel + Car
- Flight + Car (this one makes no sense...for this whole discussion though)
If you were not planning to book a flight or car then this probably is a dud. If anybody can figure out if I'm missing something here, please let me know though!! If you were booking a flight or car to begin with, it's worth noting that the park tickets were the flexible tickets meaning you're paying the highest price. This may work for folks booking during an expensive price season but be a bad deal for those going during lower priced time periods. Both dining and ticket pricing seemed to be slightly less than 1cpp so this may not be a great deal for anybody. It looks like you could add either/or without doing the other so there is flexibility.
Hopefully this helps those thinking about earning AA Miles towards Disney! I will include this in the new Disney thread when I put it up on DISchurners.
