I feel kind of bad.... put a Disney Dooney up on Ebay finally. I've been debating doing it for a year, and got an offer for half price fees on the next 5 things I sold for over $50, if I listed them by a certain date. It's one of the blue/aqua Dogs tote pattern that was so popular. Tons of orders were getting cancelled so I ordered through the Shop Parks app and through the Disney website and ended up getting both of my orders. I opened the one I liked the most and have been using it and the other is still in plastic. Listed it, immediately got 5 offers and ~20 watchers... best offer is $20 below asking price, and that is still almost $50 more than I spent on BOTH bags together. But that is the market for this pattern :confused3

I like that pattern. Hadn't really noticed it before because I don't do much Disney shopping.

As @GlamMistress said, free market. Nobody has to pay for it. They could go down the line and pay more for the other ones listed.

I actually agree with that premise too. But there are so many better cards to start slow and easy with. Or just be honest as you say.

We'll be seeing some pumping for that new no fee Citi card soon too. I noticed MMS was running a banner ad for it so there's probably affiliate income starting soon. Everyone brace!
The sensationalized and over the top headlines throw honesty out the window with these blogs. It really makes you lose respect because it shows they are all about the site click and ultimately the affiliate link revenue. Probably why we all love DoC!

I think I typically use option C lol. 0/30 and 2/30 hahaha

I think of it as “I need to be 0/30 to apply for a Chase biz card” AND “Until I drop below 2/30 I can apply for a Chase card”.

The fun thing is at this point 2/30 is rarely discussed because AoR isn’t really a thing anymore and spacing out apps is so much more common.

Now who's the Rebel...

Yeah, as I was typing, it was hard not to say "don't apply for 3 Chase cards in a 30 day period... are you insane???" :p But since it's a soft rule and we see outlier DPs occasionally I didn't want to go hardcore and judge the more risk tolerant out there that may still AoR for the heck of it :)

LOL am I the only one here still putting 3 months between Chase cards :rotfl2:
My wife did the following:
04/18 - CIP
08/18 - CSR
08/18 - CSP (R.I.P. DD)
11/18 - CIU
- and we're probably going to wait until the calendar turns to Feb to get a CIC sooooo we are following 3 months! Although, I'd be willing to push 2 if I had a reason.

I did a default sort to "top" so upvote the categories you think deserve to be near the top of the thread!

:offtopic: I'm in the market for a new weekender/overnight bag. Any suggestions?
Do you feel like its large enough for an actual 2-3 overnight stay?
I also have a Grand Weekender. I really like it, but I don't use it for flying weekend trips - don't like to cart it around the airport much as it can get heavy. Like it for driving. Definitely enough room for several nights.
TBH I could just eat mac and cheese and mashed potatoes all day. :D
Me tooo... I could live on cereal, mac and cheese, and cheese frenchees.

Using AA Miles to pay for Disney Vacations
  • Go to this website: https://www.useaamiles.com/carhotel/
  • If you aren't logged in you'll want to do so - when not logged in you will see the following message:
    • Log In Now: AAdvantage® elite status members and co-branded credit cardholders enjoy exclusive rates.
That is absolutely true - the rates are significantly lower if you qualify!
  • Do a Hotel search for dates for Orlando Florida. When they come up there will be numerous resorts...
  • Type in “Disney’s” into the filter box to only pull Disney Resorts (make sure to include the 's as some off-property hotels use the word Disney in their description
  • Then check out what's available!
  • If Disney is running a room only promotion, those rates will kick in too so you can stack a Disney discount with using AA Miles
  • You'll find that AA Miles are worth 1cpp towards hotels (but only 0.6cpp if you aren't logged in and/or don't qualify for the exclusive rates)
Here's a couple of examples:

TRAVEL DATES 11/2 – 11/7

Yacht Club – Garden or Woods View
  • $2,945.25 on Disney website (no promo rate)
  • 296,000 AA Miles when logged in (1cpp)
  • 493,200 AA Miles not logged in (0.6cpp)
TRAVEL DATES 9/9 – 9/14
Pop Century – Standard View
  • $608.41 – Sun and Fun Offer on Disney site (promo rate)
  • 61,200 AA Miles when logged in (1cpp)
  • 101,900 AA Miles not logged in (0.6cpp)
So you can see that the ~1cpp holds on both regular pricing and promotional rates. Hotel availability may vary from the Disney site BUT a ton of hotels were available on the Sept dates.

Resorts that were available on the AAdvantage website for the Example Sept Week
  • Disney's Pop Century Resort
  • Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
  • Disney's All Star Music Resort
  • Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter
  • Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • Disney's Art of Animation Resort
  • Disney's All Star Movies Resort
  • Disney's All Star Sports Resort
  • Disney's BoardWalk Inn
  • Disney's Coronado Springs Resort and Spa
  • Disney's Grand Floridian Resort Spa
  • Disney's Port Orleans Resort Riverside
  • Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa
  • Disney's Yacht Club Resort
  • Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
  • Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas Kidani Village
  • Disney's Wilderness Lodge
  • Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
  • Disney's Old Key West Resort
  • Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground
  • Disney's Beach Club Resort
  • Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort
  • Disney's BoardWalk Villas
  • Disney's Contemporary Resort
CAN I ADD DINING AND TICKETS?
If others want to do more research on this...have at it. It appears to me that you CAN add tickets and dining but you have to be booking an AA package. That means you need to be booking one of the following combos:
  • Flight + Hotel
  • Hotel + Car
  • Flight + Car (this one makes no sense...for this whole discussion though)
If you were not planning to book a flight or car then this probably is a dud. If anybody can figure out if I'm missing something here, please let me know though!! If you were booking a flight or car to begin with, it's worth noting that the park tickets were the flexible tickets meaning you're paying the highest price. This may work for folks booking during an expensive price season but be a bad deal for those going during lower priced time periods. Both dining and ticket pricing seemed to be slightly less than 1cpp so this may not be a great deal for anybody. It looks like you could add either/or without doing the other so there is flexibility.

Hopefully this helps those thinking about earning AA Miles towards Disney! I will include this in the new Disney thread when I put it up on DISchurners.
Went to give this a shot. Turns out I have an AA account from college - who knew? But it won't let me login because I have no miles :confused3 Anyone else have that issue?

It's the only pattern I loved enough to spend $200+ on a purse  I took it, it's just been wrapped in plastic sitting on a cabinet!

I'll have 9 months between mine :)

I'm gearing up for something in the next couple weeks, still can't decide what though. I didn't fully get hubby onboard with the CIP cuz of the MSR. Trying to decide if I go "surprise!" or just pick up something else and stick with the original plan on going for that one over the summer.

But with the change to the rules recently I don't fault anyone for waiting 2 months instead of 3... or even 4-6 weeks depending on their background :) I still don't think it's time to sprint but probably can't hurt to pick up the pace during the marathon. I think it's turned from a 16 minute/mile minimum to at least a 14. So if you're still able to keep yourself occupied with other biz cards while you wait, 3 months still isn't a bad thought, but I wouldn't want anyone to miss out entirely by only waiting on Chase.

It does appear like you need to have at least some AA miles to even look. My wife could not login because she has 0 AA miles.

I just did SW biz just over two months after ciu on advice from @SouthFayetteFan. It worked:) A little nervous about going for a personal sw card in a few months because i’ve gotten three chase business cards (but no personal cards) since May. I’m thinking by April I’ll give it a shot.

I have a few of the Dooneys. I spent over $200 for the first tote I bought when they first came out and now it sits in my closet.

I do carry a small Disney Dooney - the white, red and black one with Minnie and Mickey and a red dotted beetle walking hand in hand sort of romantically. People comment on it all the time when I'm out shopping and go to pay. When I carried the bigger tote people would stop me and ask where I got it as it was the new thing at the time.

I've carried a 3K Miu Miu and didn't get any attention - at least not direct attention.

Weird, maybe it recognized my computer but I was able to see prices then login and see AA member prices. Which TBH since I like to fly to Europe I wouldn't pay, albeit the member prices were lower than the first set I saw.

It does appear like you need to have at least some AA miles to even look. My wife could not login because she has 0 AA miles.

I get lots of comments on the Dogs tote still. I've had multiple people come up and tell me I'm brave for opening mine. That makes me giggle because I'm just not a collector mindset - I bought it to use! I don't take it to work day to day, mainly because I don't have anywhere nice/safe to keep it. But I take it out on evenings/weekends usually.

Why does it always seem the refs are in love with the Pats? and give them all the good calls? Maybe this is why??

I cannot like this. Ugh.
