TBH I could just eat mac and cheese and mashed potatoes all day.![]()
Finally figured out what I'll have for dinner

That’s what I figured given how much change there was. There was actually an option to let IRS decide and not pay it upfront. The more perplexing pRt is why my federal agency is not taking enough Medicare tax out. It says we owe $ to Medicare. Off to change add even more federal tax withholding since we’ll have even less interest this year itemize. You may not have to pay the penalty, IRS is waiving some of it this year. There was one year Turbo Tax added an underpayment penalty to our return, I paid it, but then IRS refunded it.

The K-1s from my husband's business are usually the last things we are waiting for. It drives me nuts!!!Same. Our family business info usually isn't ready until close to 4/15. I made a huge dent in my Spark MSR with my estimates last week.
I'll help my three young adults with theirs via Turbo tax. Thank God theirs are still simple.
Yes, my DD has always told her best friend how much she loves going, etc. Her family decided to cobble together a last minute trip during Thankskgiving and came home unimpressed. My DD was very disappointed. Most of their complaints could have been avoided, of course. These types of stories are like a stab to my heart...I feel for those poor families. But then of course, I also get infuriated when I hear the same families talk about how much they didn't like Disney. Unviversal Disney Rule #1 should be: Don't ever badmouth Disney to a Disney lover!...only Disney lovers are allowed to complain about overcrowding/increasing prices/etc.![]()
I just got this card also but only 40,000 AA miles plus a $250 statement credit (gift card) for 2k spend. Will use the back door method to match to 60k.I’m going to wait until I get about halfway through DH’s Citi AA Biz MSR before I apply. 7k is a lot for us in 120 days, so I need to winnow it down some!
I noticed that Barclays now has the “gaming” language similar to Amex’s in their Terms and Conditions. I was planning on applying for the Aviator and noticed it.I feel like there have been WAY too many "eras" of churning in the past 5ish years.
The game is constantly changing my friends...and as evidenced by the bullet points above, mostly not for good.
- AMEX Once per Lifetime applied to personal cards (2014)
- Chase 5/24 applied to Chase branded cards (2015)
- AMEX Once per Lifetime extended to business cards (Early 2016)
- Chase 5/24 extended to co-brands* (5/24/16 - such irony) *with limited exclusions
- CSR and CIP release (Fall 2016)
- One Sapphire rule (Aug 2017)
- One SW rule (Apr 2018)
- The evolution of the AMEX RAT (throughout 2018)
- AMEX Pop-up release (June 2018)
- 48 month language on sapphires (Aug 2018)
- Numerous other rule changes with Citi and BofA that I truly can't even recall or track throughout this period
One of DS’s best friends is Filipino and they offer us all kinds of “exotic” food at their house which I always decline. They are so sweet about it and fully expect it.LOL! That's me as well. My DH is Filipino and I can't eat anything at his family gatherings. I'm just allergic/intolerant to so many things now (I could eat more when I was younger). It's frustrating but Japan does have McD's and KFC.
LOL-my favorite place to eat in Japan was McDonald's. I lived off of it when my mother didn't cook, basically. Between having a kitchen and eating noodles you should be fine.
I was thinking I would be okay too. Thanks!LOL! That's me as well. My DH is Filipino and I can't eat anything at his family gatherings. I'm just allergic/intolerant to so many things now (I could eat more when I was younger). It's frustrating but Japan does have McD's and KFC.

Makes sense. I need 50k AA miles to get us from San Diego to Philly so went for the lower ms. Now waiting for the card after getting the approval letter from citi. What’s the point of that? CIP is next for me (April) than the Barclays aviator and Hilton no fee. That’s what I did to get my card, but a 60k match for DH would actually put him just short of what we’d need to book his flight to Japan. I’ll do the lower MSR cards for future AA cards though.
Agree with this. Only way it would be vastly different would be if you put in different information. While I don't want to pay more than my fair share, I don't take an aggressive stand on questionable deductions or interpretation. (not saying anyone on this thread was saying to do that.) I would do things like alternative years on standard vs itemized deductions or pay property taxes early to get them in one last year. That's truthfully pretty concerning! To come to a different result, something must be input differently. There should be no difference regardless of who you use. Granted, I am a tax geek and spreadsheet geek so I know not everybody can do this, but I have a spreadsheet where I independently input all my figures and calculate my AGI, itemized deductions, taxable income, and tax burden, etc and verify it against the tax preparing software to make sure it's right.
The one I struggle with each year is the dependent care deduction. My wife works 1 day a week, and that happens to be 1 of the 3 days my daugher attends preschool - so it does allow her to work. I went back and forth a lot last year and didn't take it ultimately. I'm sure I'll debate again this year a lot too hahaha.Agree with this. So there are several of us going at the same time, right...
@Haley R , @SouthFayetteFan , myself, and @linzjane88
how exciting. I am super annoyed with the weather situation though. Esp the pm we plan to do DAH at MK. I'm not sure if I want to stick with it now or not.![]()

I don’t know, never done it but see people mentioning waiting 60-90 minutes. Um. No. Which week are you there. We’ll just be at WDW, 3/23-3/30.I have suddenly found myself heading to Univ and WDW over Spring Break so I’m just looking at planning stuff... Fantasmic requires standing in an hour long line now to assure you can get in?I really want to see it but- no. Off to check out the dessert and dining package options...
