I'm not even gonna go back and try to read the 200+ pages I'm likely behind. I've been MIA dealing w/ the Ex who dumped me (the long distance one that got me more intro running CCs). Anywho, despite him dumping me and starting to date someone local RIGHT AWAY, he called me last week (on Valentine's Day nonetheless) saying he was second guessing this and regretting this. It's been a lovely month for me, I've lost 18lbs (my ex-husband told me I need a burger, LOL). But I think I'm getting back on my path. So I think I'll try to be back in the group.

I'm trying to figure out a Spring Break for my kids. All the airfare is still $$$. Last year I scored some great flights last minute. So maybe I'll get lucky again this year. It feels weird to not be meeting a spend right now. But I think I'm going to try and hold out if I can and get under 5/24.

I'm hoping to meet my 30 transactions sooner than later and get my $750 bonus w/ Huntington. How fast do they normally post it?
Can I just say he’s an a**? Hope you can find a great Spring Break getaway and forget the stress.

Still no reduced redemption amounts on the AA site. I sure wish they would figure out I am a card holder again!
I can't even log in to look at them b/c I don't have any points yet.:sad2:
How quickly do their points post? Is it statement close?

Just tried logging into useaamiles.com and I get this message:

There are not enough miles in your AAdvantage account to book. Buy the miles you need.

Do you need a balance to even log in?

I think you do need to have at least 1 mile, LOL!

Well, something more than 10  I have the Barclay AA Biz linked to my account but I get that message too with only 10 miles. Problem is they don't tell you what kind of balance you need to get into the good rates, just that you need to buy some, but like what's the minimum redemption amount?

I don't have Lain's spreadsheet, so I can't remember everything, but do you have any of the AMEX cards that would let you into the Centurion lounge? The one at PHL is quite nice.
No, nothing so fancy :teeth: While not all AF may be the devil, that Plat is definitely a minion of darkness at the moment. One day we'll succumb, but for now Priority Pass is our first foray into the lounge scene. Probably why I'm failing so spectacularly so far, sheer plebian inexperience :p

I apologize as I am sure this has been asked many times but I couldn't locate the answer with a quick search.

I have Cap One Venture miles and am looking at a DVC booking. Cap One will let me redeem the miles on the DVC rentals as long as the charge is coded travel. There are two agencies - David's Disney and DVC Rental Store. I found some posts from 2017 on other forums that stated that DVC Rental Store is a travel agency and the charges come through as travel expenses for redemption. I found some comments in another thread that David's Disney Rentals also comes through as a travel charge (although under a parent name).

Anyone recently used Cap One Venture reward points for this?

I emailed David's to ask this question hust last week. According to the reply I received, they do not code as travel.

Several nice things to report from the churning world today:

The 150k Hilton points from the SUB on DH's Ascend hit his account today. I was very happy to see them because they took a while longer to show up than I am used to with Amex SUBs (altho I realize this was DH's account and it's only his second Amex), so I was starting to wonder if he might be in a no pop up, no bonus situation. I've already put in a request to transfer those points into my Hilton account since I am Diamond. I love how easy Hilton makes it to pool and transfer points!!

Airline fee reimbursements posted for both my personal Plat and my Aspire (I started with $100 there). So I went ahead and bought another $150 SW gc with my Aspire today to finish that credit out before there are any changes with SW gcs working for the credit.

I had placed an order last weekend for some stuff at Dell with my Biz Plat. I saw one reimbursement this week for 10% off part of the order. But Dell charged the items individually and is shipping them in three batches, so I was a little worried about the $100 statement credit working correctly. But today there were a number of credits in my Biz Plat account that add up to the full 10% off for the whole order plus about 3/4 of the $100 statement credit which ties to the items that have shipped. I was very happy to see those reimbursements given the way Dell processed the order! I'm assuming the remainder of the $100 credit will post after the remaining items ship.

'

Do let us know! Nothing for me yet.

Oh, Yes! And, bonus, it's correct showing just $5 for that card as it should.

Sorry to leave you in suspense :) I started to update after I got the mail but didn't finish, oops.

Congrats on the AmEx successes! It's something to celebrate lately.

It might be 1,000 miles...seems like I recall that being the minimum I could use.

I believe you are the OP from the orginal thread. Bumping this for you as I don't have advice for you, but others might. It would help others who are knowledgeable about international travel with rewards if you listed all the cards you opened in the last two years - and the dates you opened them. There are people here who can help you, but they most likely need more information.

Aw, thanks! Yeah, it’s me lol. As I’ve been out of the game for awhile, I’m at 3/24 which does give me some options.

I have:
Barclaycard AA fall of 2017
Citi AA advantage fall of 2017
Chase Freedom fall of 2017

I haven’t really done a lot of points travel to these areas so just figuring out the airlines and routes and everything is daunting as always. I’m used to doing this for Asia (except this year and the actual money amount made me choke a little lol) so really know how to work things for the routes I’ve done.

I’d, of course, love it if anybody has any tips.

The groups that’s traveling has a ton of Marriott points, which is great because those transfer like the old spg points to multiple airlines. The downside is that we’re total St. Regis groupies and don’t want to use those points for airlines haha.

Does anybody know if you are eligible for the Chase Bonvoy (ugh I hate that name and that they changed status to Titanium elite-it’s so cringe) card if you have the Amex versions? I kept both Amex spg cards and use them for 95% of normal spend so they’ve been converted already.

Glad to hear you are doing better. check out the dischurners thread it helps to catch up especially when you can't check here. Where are you wanting to go for spring break?

can't help with international but @calypso726 might be able to help and @Lain for the marriott restrictions.

For the Marriott cards, you'd have to cancel the SPG personal and wait 30 days before being eligible I think. Here's a good chart that lays out the silliness -https://frequentmiler.boardingarea.com/navigating-marriotts-byzantine-credit-card-rules/

So DH put in his resignation today at his job and accepted the job I gave a triple nope to a couple weeks ago. He did tell the guy I am a weirdo about my CC points and got permission to not use the company cc. No such luck on continuing our weekly car rentals through hertz for work though, as they stuck to the company car policy, but they did order him a tacoma, which is what he drives for his personal vehicle too, so we can sell his and pocket the cash. As far as it being in TN, well that didn't change. Ugh. But, they are planning to expand into KY now and the Carolinas next...so that will be DH's spot when it opens up. I told him my red line in the sand is when DD3 starts K...so he has 2 years. I've served my time here. Clock is ticking.

We have a casper. DH loves it. I hate it. Too firm for me, but I'm a belly sleeper.

The wave or the original?

I like firmer mattresses, my wife likes them softer. We’re both side sleepers. I felt the wave was a bit too firm. The original Casper is around that sweet spot that hopefully will work for both of us.

For me, T&N is just too mushy with absolutely no side support (I’ve slid off it a few times!), and I sink when sitting upright. My wife likes the T&N but hates me complaining about it.

We also tried a Saatva luxury firm. They describe it as hotel quality and about a 7 in firmness. No way! I felt like I was sleeping on the floor for the week we tried it. And I’m the one who likes firmer mattresses. Back it went!

This is not the answer you want. I have no idea about this DRU department but I do know most tales of when PNC puts people into verification tend to be a big pain if you don’t have a physical branch nearby to complete the process.

I deal with stress by having a plan for my worst case scenario. Imho the worst case scenario here is your money will be locked up with PNC for a few weeks, you’ve been in this long enough I’m sure you have a financial plan in case that happens so you’re ok. It could suck getting it sorted out but at the end of the day you’re going to be ok.

Thank you :) I know it'll be okay ultimately...just a big hassle, especially on top of everything else that's been going on today (all just little annoying things going wrong one after the other). I just really want to get all this money back home safe and sound in the right account by the end of the month. As far as I can tell Chase thinks everything is a-okay, since the points from the funding are all already posted or pending. So that's good.

I think it's time for a little whiskey and Disney movies in bed :faint:

Dh and I just finally paid for our Airbnb! Total was around $600 but we had $300 in discounted gcs and had a chase offer for 15% back. I think $300 on our Airbnb was a good deal! I think it’s for 5 nights. The trip is starting to feel so real!!!

Can't wait to hear about your trip. It's something I'm thinking about doing sometime in the future. Just a few more months!
