I Kicked it I Played it and now..Wheeling & Dealing at the WL final 9/9 p87/88

Those were some GREAT monorail pics!! :thumbsup2 La Nouba looks incredible- I am sooooo happy you made it in time!! How was the parade? What was it for? Thanks for suggesting the other TR- I read a little and subbed to go back later- it looks like a good one. :goodvibes

Hey Ellen. Glad you like the monorail pics! I can't believe you haven't seen LaNouba. You might consider adding it to your adults only trip, It's definitely worth it with the dvc discount.

Oh - the parade was for Separation Day in Old New Castle, DE. It's a nice parade, not too long, and not too far from my house. Plus Old NC is really cool. So many historic buildings!

I was hoping to do a "REAl" update tonight, but its not gonna happen. I did want to post a couple pictures I took while waiting for chuck, cathy, and denny in the WL parking lot. You KNOW I was getting antsy if I waited for them IN the parking lot.

Anybody want to take a guess where this is?

Cirque was a smash. 90 Seconds of non-stop fun! I really lost track of what time of day it was so it seemed strange to be exiting the theatre into the daylight. Well, in actuality there wasn't much daylight left, but it was enough to light our way around the general vicinity.

here's proof that I actually did see Cirque......

A black and white shot of the building......

Across the river was my home resort, Saratoga Springs. I haven't stayed at SSR for awhile, and I have to admit that I miss it a bit. When I looked across the building at the pretty pastel colors I realized whey I picked SSR as my home resort. It just gives off the vibe of calm, cool, and collected. I walked to the water's edge so I could take a few pictures.

I took a shot of the DVC center because my plan was to try to meet with my guide and see what the incentives were. Its always good to be in the market for more DVC points......

IMG_3499.jpg

I guess now would be a good time to post pictures of the 'real' SSR, but I don't have those uploaded to photobucket yet. But soon, I promise!

When I was done looking at SSR and after I had proudly pointed it out to Chuck and Cathy, I set my camera on some of the other DTD sights.....

And look what else I saw off in the distance:

We were standing right near House of Blues, so I had to include HOB in my picture gallery.

IMG_3496.jpg

We went into the HOB gift shop so I could pick up a shot glass for my neighbor who collects them.

It was about 8pm and I wasn't feeling super hungry, but Wolfgang pucks express was right there so I asked the gang if that felt like eating. I suggested that each couple split a sandwich and that's what we decided to do. I knew I wanted to try WP because I remember reading about the place in CP's and Praise His Name's TRs. It looked like a good use of a CS. We perused the menu and decided on.....

Rotisserie Turkey Club - avocado, bacon, red onion, plum tomatoes, Romaine and remoulade $13

Denny and I split a sandwich and so did Chuck and Cathy. Cathy also ordered .....

IMG_3527.jpg

Buttnernut Squash Soup - with a roasted red pepper swirl and chives $5.00

I don't remember what we had for dessert, but it was just the right amount of food because I was still full from Le Cellier. For me to still be full at 8pm from a 1230pm lunch is virtually unheard of. It was a first. So, I definitely recommend the prime rib sandwich for those who really want to satiate their hunger.

Service was slow and we waited on line for awhile. When we were done eating I couldn't quite coax anyone into going shopping. I wanted to head to the MarketPlace and visit the Basin, but no one was really interested. So I took a final night time pic and we headed back to WL.

IMG_3525.jpg

When we got back to the lodge Cathy and I went in to fill our mugs. We decided to walk back to the villas the "long way", meaning we headed outside and around the pool. As we were nearing the beach we had a surprise. We actually saw the tail end of the Electric light parade. Drat....If we had only left DTD a little bit earlier we would have seen the whole thing.
I didn't take any pictures. I think I was just in awe of how close the parade actually was. I have seen the parade before from the poly beach, but it looked much closer from the WL beach. Perhaps it was my imagination, but I felt like I could reach out and touch it. OK - I am exaggerating, but you know what I mean.

As we walked by the beach we could see that they were showing a movie. It was actually the end of an Adam Sandler movie. Cathy and I sat down to watch before we realized it was almost over. Just as well, the bugs were biting and we wouldn't have lasted too long without bug spray.

Back to the villa we went. I was actually in bed by 11pm....an early night! But in an hour I was up to use the bathroom. Without getting into too many details, it was right then and there that I decided to start taking the Flagyl. Yes - I filled the prescription much earlier in the day, but there was still a part of me that hoped I wasn't going to need it. By midnight I realized that it was silly to wait any longer. I really didn't want to take the chance of having the Evil "D" come back with a full vengeance. I figured it was better to be safe than sorry. So with that one little pill went all my hopes of Cinco de Mayo....right down the crapper, so to speak.

Up Next.....Day 4......The Amazing Animal Kingdom!

It sounds like you had a lovely evening at DTD! To bad you didn't shop! I can't imagine going to DTD and not shopping! :confused3

I love that you got a surprise EWP viewing!! DH says it's "cheesy" but I love it!

I'm so, so sorry that he evil D came back! UGH! Oh no! I'm glad you got the RX filled!!!

You went to DTD and didn't go shopping??? :scared1: At least you got back in time to catch the end of the EWP :thumbsup2

Glad you got that prescription filled!

What a nice DTD evening! We absolutely LOVE WPE!! Their pizzas are amazing, if you head back and are actually hungry. I am absolutely awful with geography and spatial relations, so I literally can't understand why the EWP looks closer from WL than Poly, but that's amazing! No matter how small it is, I love watching it-- usually from Poly beach. Going to have to boat it on over to WL next time!

The guys didn't want to shop at Basin?? What's wrong with them? ;)

I haven't tried WPE yet but it is on my list. I just have to tear myself away from Earl of Sandwich!

I :lovestruc the Electric Water Parade or whatever it is called. It's pretty dated - in fact don't think it has changed in 20++ years - but still love it.

I didn't remember SSR was your home resort. Have you ever had trouble getting a reservation at another resort at the 7 month window?

Sounds like a great evening in DTD even if you couldn't get any shopping in! :goodvibes

While I would love to take credit for you trying WPE, we have never eaten there, so it must have been someone else's TR. ;) Dinner does sound good, though.

Sounds like a lovely evening strolling around and snapping pictures! Too bad the Evil D came back, though, but thank goodness you had the prescription filled earlier in the day.

Another runner passed me on the path. A really in shape, good looking man in his mid 30's. He passed me like I was standing still. Which I almost was when I got a look at his fine physique. :rolleyes1 Mmmm, mmm, mmmmm.....what a fine sight so early in the morning!

fat_suit_ap.jpg

When I finally looked forward I noticed that Denny, Chuck, and Cathy were WAY ahead of me. I mean REALLY WAY far ahead of me. Ahem....people.....HELLO.....I DON'T THINK THE CAR IS THHHAAAAAAAT FAAAAAAAARRRRRR!

COME BACK DENNY, CHUCK, AND CATHY......You walked too far. Ugghhhhh - there was no way they could hear me.

"We walked too far?", they asked.

"Doh. Yes you did", I replied.

Wigd's iPhone has a gps app that can be used to find your car, if you remember to set it when you leave the car!

There is just something sooooooo wrong about carrying a Walmart bag through the Wilderness Lodge lobby. It definitely takes away a bit of the magic.

I want to see these people walking through the Wilderness Lodge lobby!

Mmmmm, Woflgang Puck Express. :cloud9: It's my favorite place to eat at DTD. I think it's better than Earl of Sandwich but that's just me. :rolleyes1

SSR does look so pretty....it's just TOO big!! I love the colors and the grounds but unless I had Chuck driving me around....:rotfl2:
WPE sounds so yummy but I really, really like EOS...sorry LL ;) Although I haven't eaten there so I really should try it :) So many good places to eat...so little time :rotfl2:
Loving Shocker's picture posts :thumbsup2

You were at DTD and did not go shopping?????:scared1::scared1::sad2:

It sounds like a perfect ending to a perfect evening. And I'm glad you got that prescription filled...better safe than sorry.

I thought DTD was just for shopping and eating. Those are the only reasons I go there! Sorry you didn't get to shop.
We enjoyed EoS last trip, but have enjoyed WPE too. We have a WPE near us (at Mall of America), so I don't usually feel like I have to eat there. But I like their food!
Pretty pics of SSR!

I wanted to post some replies tonight, but I just spent the last half hour unable to tear myself away from the people of walmart. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:I only got to page 15 and there are over 300 more pages to go.

I highly suggest looking at the bottom of page 9 - the flesh colored Jansport fanny pack......OMG!!!!!!

Welcome Back Shocker!!!!!!!

http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/ Too, too funny!

I'll second that!! WOW!

Cathy loves to shop so I'm not sure what the reluctance was. Maybe it was Chuck and Denny.

I WILL shop on my next trip - guaranteed!

Boo to the Evil D - the good news is that is has NOT come back since I've been home from Florida. I am cautiously optimistic!

You went to DTD and didn't go shopping??? :scared1: At least you got back in time to catch the end of the EWP :

Glad you got that prescription filled!

Can you believer it? No shopping. I haven't had a good shopping day at DTD during several of my last trips. Its crazy. I am long overdue and I really want to stop at the basin.

WPE was very good and I would eat there again in a heartbeat. I would love to try one of the pizzas.

I'm not sure why the electric water parade looked closer. :confused3 I still think its my imagination or maybe it was because there were so few people on the beach. The Poly usually has a ton of beach goers.

The guys didn't want to shop at Basin?? What's wrong with them?

Stupid guys - not wanting to shop? What's that all about.

WPE and EOS are both really good. Too bad they don't have CS choices like that in the parks.

EWP is fun. There was just something so magical about finding it unexpectedly that night.

I have not had any trouble yet at 7 months getting another resort. But so far I have only tried for Kidani and VWL. I am working my way around. Next spring I am going to stay at OKW only because I want to book 2 studios and I want beds instead of a pull out coach. Although, it I could get BWV or BCV at 7 months I might just agree to sleep on the pull-out.

SSR was just a good choice for us because we like it, the point structure is low, the resale price was lower, and we'll never be disappointed staying there. Denny and I also like the larger complexes with the outside entrances. That's just us. We've always enjoyed all the mod resorts for the same reason. They have a similar set up.

Sounds like a great evening in DTD even if you couldn't get any shopping in! :goodvibes
 Can you believe No shopping! That is just wrong!

While I would love to take credit for you trying WPE, we have never eaten there, so it must have been someone else's TR. ;) Dinner does sound good, though.

Why did I think that was you???? I can't believe I am confusing my TR's. HORROR! How could that happen????? Well I feel pretty confident that Denise ate there, but I wonder who that other family was? :confused3

If I saw that while running through Fort Wildnerness, I would have kept right on running straight into the lake! Oh My!

I want to see these people walking through the Wilderness Lodge lobby!

I just want to know WHO takes these pictures? I am also going to check all 300 plus pages to make sure I'm not in one of them!

OUCH!!!!!! :rolleyes1

Mmmmm, Woflgang Puck Express. :cloud9: It's my favorite place to eat at DTD. I think it's better than Earl of Sandwich but that's just me. :rolleyes1

Well, it wasn't CP who ate there so maybe it was you and Jen!!!! :rotfl: SOMEBODY ate there! But, I agree - its every bit as good as Earl of Sandwich!

SSR does look so pretty....it's just TOO big!! I love the colors and the grounds but unless I had Chuck driving me around....:rotfl2:

Be careful what you wish for - Chuck's driving skills are "e-hem" (cough, cough) not the most proficient, say we say. Sorry, chuck, if you are reading, but you know what I am referring, too!

WPE sounds so yummy but I really, really like EOS...sorry LL ;) Although I haven't eaten there so I really should try it :) So many good places to eat...so little time :rotfl2:

If that's not the truth!

Loving Shocker's picture posts :thumbsup2

He is the master! :worship:

(whoops, I forgot Wigd told me not to do that cause it will go to his head)

You were at DTD and did not go shopping?????:scared1::scared1::sad2:

Sad, isn't it? :sad2:

It sounds like a perfect ending to a perfect evening. And I'm glad you got that prescription filled...better safe than sorry.

It was a nice evening. Very low key and relaxing!
