Cirque was a smash. 90 Seconds of non-stop fun! I really lost track of what time of day it was so it seemed strange to be exiting the theatre into the daylight. Well, in actuality there wasn't much daylight left, but it was enough to light our way around the general vicinity.
here's proof that I actually did see Cirque......
A black and white shot of the building......
Across the river was my home resort, Saratoga Springs. I haven't stayed at SSR for awhile, and I have to admit that I miss it a bit. When I looked across the building at the pretty pastel colors I realized whey I picked SSR as my home resort. It just gives off the vibe of calm, cool, and collected. I walked to the water's edge so I could take a few pictures.
I took a shot of the DVC center because my plan was to try to meet with my guide and see what the incentives were. Its always good to be in the market for more DVC points......
I guess now would be a good time to post pictures of the 'real' SSR, but I don't have those uploaded to photobucket yet. But soon, I promise!
When I was done looking at SSR and after I had proudly pointed it out to Chuck and Cathy, I set my camera on some of the other DTD sights.....
And look what else I saw off in the distance:
This picture always reminds me of LL and her love for all things Mary Poppins:
We were standing right near House of Blues, so I had to include HOB in my picture gallery.
We went into the HOB gift shop so I could pick up a shot glass for my neighbor who collects them.
It was about 8pm and I wasn't feeling super hungry, but Wolfgang pucks express was right there so I asked the gang if that felt like eating. I suggested that each couple split a sandwich and that's what we decided to do. I knew I wanted to try WP because I remember reading about the place in CP's and Praise His Name's TRs. It looked like a good use of a CS. We perused the menu and decided on.....
Rotisserie Turkey Club - avocado, bacon, red onion, plum tomatoes, Romaine and remoulade $13
Denny and I split a sandwich and so did Chuck and Cathy. Cathy also ordered .....
Buttnernut Squash Soup - with a roasted red pepper swirl and chives $5.00
I don't remember what we had for dessert, but it was just the right amount of food because I was still full from Le Cellier. For me to still be full at 8pm from a 1230pm lunch is virtually unheard of. It was a first. So, I definitely recommend the prime rib sandwich for those who really want to satiate their hunger.
Service was slow and we waited on line for awhile. When we were done eating I couldn't quite coax anyone into going shopping. I wanted to head to the MarketPlace and visit the Basin, but no one was really interested. So I took a final night time pic and we headed back to WL.
When we got back to the lodge Cathy and I went in to fill our mugs. We decided to walk back to the villas the "long way", meaning we headed outside and around the pool. As we were nearing the beach we had a surprise. We actually saw the tail end of the Electric light parade. Drat....If we had only left DTD a little bit earlier we would have seen the whole thing.
I didn't take any pictures. I think I was just in awe of how close the parade actually was. I have seen the parade before from the poly beach, but it looked much closer from the WL beach. Perhaps it was my imagination, but I felt like I could reach out and touch it. OK - I am exaggerating, but you know what I mean.
As we walked by the beach we could see that they were showing a movie. It was actually the end of an Adam Sandler movie. Cathy and I sat down to watch before we realized it was almost over. Just as well, the bugs were biting and we wouldn't have lasted too long without bug spray.
Back to the villa we went. I was actually in bed by 11pm....an early night! But in an hour I was up to use the bathroom. Without getting into too many details, it was right then and there that I decided to start taking the Flagyl. Yes - I filled the prescription much earlier in the day, but there was still a part of me that hoped I wasn't going to need it. By midnight I realized that it was silly to wait any longer. I really didn't want to take the chance of having the Evil "D" come back with a full vengeance. I figured it was better to be safe than sorry. So with that one little pill went all my hopes of Cinco de Mayo....right down the crapper, so to speak.
Up Next.....Day 4......The Amazing Animal Kingdom!
