I emailed the camp at Mt Misery (still cant get over that name), and they dont want me to be a lifeguard(pheww), they want me to be a cabin counselor. Which means that I am incharge of around 10 children. I eat with them, sleep in the same cabins as them, and do activities with them.

I dont think I would of taken it, but they really want me to go and work there. Plus it is in a great location.

I think I am doing the right thing. They wanted me to be train as a life guard as an extra, I still may go for it as it means I will be going out that much earlier.

I cant wait, it is finally happening!!!!

Mt. Misery is a really cool camp. I've been there, my husband went there, and my FIL went for many years as a volunteer with the local school. It's really in a beautiful area.
Good luck!

Good luck with this. I hope you have lots of fun with this job this summer :)

My parents live right near Mt. Misery!

My 6th graders went there for a week as well.

There is nothing around there, like stores, or shops. It is literally in the middle of the Pine Barrens! (Barrens being the operative word)

Its a pretty nice camp considering it is in the middle of nowhere.

Just get used to seeing pine trees and lots of them!

I have always wanted to do this, I love pine forests (I live in the middle of a wood anyway).

What did your 6th graders think of it?

The students hated the fact that there was no TV or computers!

That was the number one complaint.
Other than that, they liked the food, thought it was pretty good.

Some got to see wildlife for the first time, and some also said it really felt like the middle of nowhere.

I think they have a few computers for the staff. Oh well, I guess on my days of I am going to be travelling a long way to find a computer.

Good for you! Like I said before, you'll love Jersey in the summer. There is so much to do!
