I have some Swan/Dolphin questions - please help!

It seems that I keep finding different information everywhere I turn. I would appreciate it if anyone can answer these questions:

1.) We are a family of five. Two adults, and three kids who will be 4 years old at the time we travel. Can we only stay at the Dolpin? Or will the Swan allow 3 children, even if they are over three years of age?

2.) Does either hotel still offer a rate of $100 on your birthday?

3.) Do they offer free kids meals with the purchase of an adult meal? If so, at what restaurants? Also, is it two children's meals PER adult? In other words, will all three of our kids eat free?

4.) Exactly which rooms have been redecorated? None at the Dolphin? Do you think they will be renoved by Sept/Oct when we plan to go?

5.) What is the best rate I can expect in value season? I have the Ent. Card, but am not eligible for any nurse/teacher/govt empl. discounts.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Yes, you can fit 2 adults and 3 kids in a room at the S/D. You will need a rollaway bed. There is a charge for a rollaway.

Yes, you can get one night for 100 at the S/D on the night of your birthday. Must show proof of birthday.

I haven't heard of a kids eat free program at the S/D. HIFS has this program though.

Heavenly beds are at the Swan. The Dolphin has not been refurbished yet but will be in the future.

The best rate is 129.00 a night but there is a daily hotel fee of 10.00. Call the hotel directly for the best price or go through DU.

Hope this helps!

On Vacation.net, it states that "Children under 9 eat free at select restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the WDW Swan". I'd call them to make sure this is true, though!

Used to work at the resort and can answer your questions:

-Yes, you can stay at the Swan as well, probably better, Swan offers 2 queen beds while Dolphin offers 2 double beds and yes you will need a rollaway at $25 per night

-If the birthday rate is available, they will offer it-it is not a quarentee--only offered if discounts plans are open for your dates

-Kids Eat Free-is ONLY offered as part of certain packages and allows one child to order off children's menu per each dining adult ordering an adult entree(since you are trying to book at the entertainment discounted rate, NO YOUR CHILDREN WILL NOT EAT FREE, sorry

-Swan rooms are renovated and GORGEOUS-you may not want to get out of your HEAVENLY BED each morning!! Dolphin is starting renovations this Spring.

-Entertainment rates are 50% off of RACK RATES, anywhere from $157.50 to $187.50 or higher.

Hope this helps! Happy Planning!

Are all the rooms at the Swan done?

Hey- I spoke to reservations at the Swan/Dolphin 2 days ago (their best rate is the teacher rate of $129, birthday rate is advertised on their website at $100). They told me that the Swan sleeps a Maximum of 4 people on 2 queen beds (apparently there isn't room to put a rollaway in the room with the bigger beds). The Dolphin will sleep a Maximum of 5 people on 2 double beds and then there is a charge to bring in a rollaway for the 5th person.
Hope this helps!
