I hate shorts and t-shirts! is it just me?

In the USA-i associate denim shorts on adults as people who watch Nascar, name their car and are hillbillies;):rotfl:

Most middle class folks wear kaki shorts, Polo-Ralph lauren-look at their stuff to get the idea

I wear shorts or capris and cute peasant blouses or button down shirts-Lauren and Jones new York-...BUT at WDW ONLY I do wear my jogging shoes (brit's trainers) because you walk ALOT. (In 'real life" i only wear them to exercise)

I would not wear any type of dress to ride thrill rides at WDW;)

Is it ok if I wear my $109 Ralph Lauren denim shorts?

I think of people who wear Polo-Ralph Lauren as people who don't know how to shop -- no reason to pay those prices unless you're buying the label.

NASCAR fans come in all shapes, sizes and pocketbooks. Where I live, you can pretty much count on the wealthiest people, those who DO buy Polo, to be NASCAR fans.

I think the shorts Jennasis posted are beyond tacky.

Of course, I AM a hillbilly by birth, so what do I know?

I am a capris and knit tops kind of gal, personally. Or jeans when it's cool out. But that's what I'm comfortable in...I think you should wear whatever is most comfortable for you.

?

well I shop sales and TJ maxx to get what i like-you ought to see all the beamers and lexes parked outside at my TJ Maxx!;):rotfl:

I don't understand why people are so down on denim shorts. There are cute, stylish denim shorts and ugly out of style khaki shorts. If a pair of shorts are unflattering and out of style, it doesn't matter if they are denim or khaki.

not really true.. Overweight people tend to have thighs that chaff like that.. That said, they made some sportsglide or such to help with the chaffing. So that might be an option.

But fit folks don't have the issue, it is the folks well with big thighs..

wrong.

I think women, after a certain age should NOT ever wear shorts again;)

IF it isn't hitting the knee or isn't a capri length, it's not on my body.

As far as a real tee-shirt...don't care for those either. Usually too man-cut, so if it isn't s women's style, forget it. I like scoop and v-neck styles and cap sleeves.

Althetic shoes...:sad2: only for purposeful walking ( exercise) BUT I do bring them to WDW along with sandals and flipflops because a WDW vacation is a marathon and there is always at least one day, I'm happy to wear them.

My mom is 70 and from Fl. Shorts are a mainstay of her wardrobe. She doesn't look like a 26 YO in them, but I think she looks darn good. WE went on a long weekend to Chicago, and she wore shorts one afternoon when we went to Navy Pier. She looked really nice in them.

Clearly there are a WIDE range of fashion tastes and styles. Bottom line is wear what YOU like, what makes YOU happy and YOU are comfortable in. As long as your butt, gut and/or nay-nays aren't hanging out it's all good.

Worth repeating.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Excuse me, I prefer to be called a redneck.

And for your information right now I am too fat to fit into my denim shorts.

You mean I shouldn't have named my Honda Odyssey Nausicca?

Uh oh..DH's Volkswagon is "Klaus" and my F-250 pickup is "Truckasaurus". Yeah...that's right...I drive a pickup up. Don't watch NASCAR though.

But... but... you wear denim shorts....

Sadly, I don't have any denim shorts...but it's because the ones I had don't fit (too big). Have no fear, my hillbilly card is safe and sound as I am in the market for a NEW pair or two for my upcoming trip to WDW. :thumbsup2

Phew. I feel better now. ;)
