Have you tried using yapta.com? It saves a lot of time. They watch your flights and notify you of fare changes. I'm using it to see if my fare goes down for my June trip.

Does that work for any airline? I just bought our tickets on Delta, but if the fare goes down, I'd be happy. I told myself when I found round-trip for less than $200, I'd buy it. I kept debating waiting for the Southwest fares, but with 7 of us, I figured I should get the first reasonable price I found.
I used to do that. Then somebody suggested yapta - they watch for you. You enter the flights you're interested in and they will notify you via e-mail when there's a fare change. It beats looking everyday yourself.

Yes, they track most airline flights. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to monitor different flights all in one place. I bought my tickets in Dec. and watched the price per ticket increase $75 since then.
I usually set a date/time to handle my flights, I look around at the main carriers I often fly and choose the best time/price combo that works for me, with times being marginally more important then price.
I'm trying to find something reasonable for DH and I, and it's such a pain. I tend to obsess about this stuff and drive myself nuts . I should be working, but I keep looking at air fares and car rentals. When I find something I think is good, I run it by DH, and he's not ready to 'commit'.
This happened just a little while ago, so now? He has to find the best rates .....
I use yapta.com also. It works pretty good tracking my current flights and my watching flights. Since I fly Jetblue they offer a credit if the flight price drops, so I've saved over $200 this month on price changes. We have several August flights that we are watching too. SW does not participate (but I wish they did). Before this I used expedia to check flights.
been there!! What size is your family? Try looking into only 1 or 2 passengers when looking for flights, the prices are definitely cheaper........ book the first 2 and then book the next and so on until you have the number of tickets you need......... worked great for me......
