I recently discovered a thread here on the DISboards about Disney Nights. I had never heard of such a thing. So being the curious person that I am, I clicked on the thread and my life will never be the same! People actually have nights that are themed around anything Disney! Why have I never known about this?! I am seriously upset that I could have been having Disney nights the past couple of years but I wasnt creative enough to think to do it on my own! Oh well. Ill just have to start making up for it.
After I read about these Disney themed nights, I decided that it would be fun to have them as we count down till our trip to Disney. Every Friday well have a different Disney theme and well take turns picking.
So for our first Disney night, we had a celebration for our trip. No real specific theme. Just a Disney theme. I thought it would be fun to have a breakfast meal since our first meal at Disney is always Chef Mickeys. Our menu was: Mickey pancakes, cheesy eggs, bacon, toast, orange juice, and Nesquik chocolate milk. It was so yummy! We then decorated Mickey heads (which was messy and fun). To finish off the evening, we watched then planning video we received from Disney while snacking on popcorn.
At the end of the night, we decided that the order for picking our Disney nights will be: Alex, Lauren, Mike, then me. So it was Alexs turn to pick for next week. What did he pick? Haunted Mansion (his favorite ride). So I guess well be having a spooky theme next week. Mwahahaha!

You had some creativity, there...love the invitation!
(sigh) I miss the "little kid" stage, sometimes.
I followed the link in your sig from your post on my PTR. I am caught up and so glad to "meet" other May DISers.

. Mom will drive to our house earlier that morning and leave her vehicle here (since going to pick her up is in the opposite direction of going to Disney World). Im really hoping that we wont have a ton of stuff to bring. In previous years weve had to bring: bed rails, pack-in-play, diapers, formula, baby food, yogurt, bibs, spoons, wipes, mattress for pack-in-play.
On one trip we even brought an exersaucer (you know, the circular bouncy things that you put your child in and they can turn around and play with all sorts of things. Heres a picture of Alex in his. We took it because he LOVED his.

I cringe every time I hear the name of that city. I never liked driving through it but our 2007 trip was the last straw for me. We were driving through on a Friday, during rush hour! I dont know why, we just never put two and two together to figure out that if we left at a certain time, we would be in Atlanta during rush hour.
Not only that, there was a really bad thunderstorm that went through right before we hit Atlanta and it seemed like half the power was out in Atlanta. It took us 2 hours to drive through downtown Atlanta!! And guess what? Well be driving through Atlanta this time during rush hour. Are we crazy?! Yes, but Im willing to go through crazy Atlanta during rush hour if it means the end result is WDW. Disney or bust!!
We stayed at a Red Roof Inn there which was nice. It wasnt anything fancy but it suited our purposes for a place to rest our heads. Well be staying here on this trip down as well. Were hoping to reach the hotel by 9:30 pm (depending if Atlanta traffic cooperates and there isnt a ton of construction in southern Georgia). Heres a pic of the kids in one of the beds:
I first saw them on our trip in 2007. I really wanted to buy one but then I thought Im a grown woman! What do I need a stuffed snowball for? So I put him down and didnt buy him. Sigh. So then we went back in 2009 and what did I find again. Yup. Mr. Snowball. And I got all giddy inside looking at him. I even took the above picture of him (because hes so darn cute!). Did I buy him? Nope. I once again listened to that voice in my head that said Youre a grown woman. You dont need the incredibly cute, adorable, irresistible, soft, snuggly, snowball man. So I put him back.
Yes! That too!
That sounds like quite the drive! Can't wait to hear the totals on the "Are we there yet" and "The interstate again" I alsmost wrote the internet
