I can't wait any longer! ~UPDATE 5/25 I'm back!

Ha glad Hoop De Doo "counts" :)) I really had a great time there. The show was corny but so fun. But since we are talking about food...I thought it was really good. The salad kind of reminded me of Olive Garden salad - which I happen to love and can't get here in Toronto. And that corn bread...sigh...and of course the chicken...and strawberry shortcake...making me hungry lol. Oh and I'm a wuss...never been on ToT :))

Good time + good food = I should go! And I can absolutely be a big fan of corny... when it's the right time and place... which Hoop De Doo is!

I admit to loving Olive Garden salads as well! Funny... I work at a glass museum and we recently got a reference question at the library from someone who wants to duplicate the big salad bowl used in OG commercials!

I'll be sure to update you all on how I "fare" on ToT! :scared1: :rotfl:

We are going to HDDR this time and your description of the food gets me excited about going as well as hungry. As for ToT, you should try it at least once the queue and theming of the ride is fantastic!
Tracy - Hope you enjoy and don't end up .

I think maybe I will go for the queue on ToT....and then hop out right before the ride lol..is there a "chicken" exit? I'd like to do that on a few rides if there was lol Glad you decided to HDDR!

I think most of the thrill rides have a chicken exit! And I echo the above, the queue for ToT is one of the most amazing I've ever seen. Expedition Everest's is incredible too!!! :goodvibes

September 8-12, 2015
September 15-19, 2015
October 20-24, 2015

November 10-14, 2015
January 25-29, 2016

Here's my two cents worth of advice -
September 8-12...EXTREMELY low crowd levels (1s & 2s out of 10), Night of Joy on 9/11 & 9/12
September 15-19...Low crowd levels (2s & 3s), MNSSHP on 9/15 & 9/18, Halloween decorations
October 20-24...Okay crowd levels (4s, 5s & 6s), MNSSHP on 10/20, 10/22 & 10/23, Halloween decoratons, F&W entire time
November 10-14...Good crowd levels (2s, 3s & 4s), MVMCP on 10/10, 10/12 & 10/13, Christmas decorations
January 25-29...Good crowd levels (2s, 3s & 4s), Quite often attractions are closed for refurbs during Jan

So it all depends on which events interest you the most!

 Descriptions of food always get me hungry... regardless of when last I ate!

I'm definitely going to do ToT, it's been SO long and I miss it terribly! Thanks, I also hope I don't end up ! :rotfl:

Oh there's definitely a "chicken exit" - trust me, I've used it plenty of times! :lmao:

It really is... even if I do chicken out... which I strongly doubt I will (I've already decided to get some Bonine AND a motion sickness prevention wristband), I've just gotta see the queue again! :thumbsup2 Yes! EE's queue is also amazing!!!

Thanks for this quick reference - very helpful!!! I've been twice during Halloween on my adult trips and it's been a LONG time (1997) since I've seen Christmas decorations at Disney... so I'm leaning towards November I think :thumbsup2 Your breakdown of everything really is awesome and I appreciate it - thank you!!! :goodvibes

Ha awesome...I'm SO glad the rides all have a chicken exit lol...next time I can wait with the brave souls who want to go on and then deek out lol.

November will be a great time to go. Though I had no idea crowds were so low in September...but maybe the weather is iffier? Who knows...

Indeed you can!

I'm a little scared of September rain after the 2014 season... though in my 2013 September trip it was beautiful so I suppose you just never know! :confused3 Hmm... I was kinda sold on November but I just keep getting this voice in my head whispering "December"... so strange! :rotfl:

*whispers* Early Deeeecemmmmmberrrrr....

:rotfl2: There are advantages to December... but did you really need to give me one more choice in the mix, Billie?!

Yes, yes I did! I went Dec. 1-8, 2009 and it was AMAZEBALLS. Full of Christmas spirit and fun, and low on people. :santa: Most Americans don't take vacation or pull their kids out of school in between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so the parks are empty and the resort rates go down. I'm going a few days later this year, Dec. 4-11, because I am dodging the Thanksgiving travelers. Apparently it's Pop Warner week, but that only effects the resorts, and those kids don't stay at AoA so it's all good. :thumbsup2

I have to say... it's not out of the realm of possibility. Especially since who doesn't love "Full of Christmas spirit and fun, and low on people." ::yes::

My biggest concern is what I'm going to attempt to do for this trip. See, my dad lives about 2-3 hours away from Disney. I also have to use my $200 voucher from USAir (must be booked by May 12th :scared1:). I thought I could go down to see him for a couple days (by flying one-way on Allegiant Air which offers really cheap, direct flights to his airport right from my tiny little hometown airport). Then we could drive to Disney together, spend the day together, and he could head back home while I stay at Disney solo for a few nights. Then, I would use the $200 voucher toward my one-way USAir flight home. However, Allegiant Air hasn't released November flights yet which means they surely haven't even thought about December ones. And I'd have to book my one-way from Disney back home by May 12th and I'm just hoping the stars align so I can make all these things come together. I think I've already added a few wrinkles thinking about the flights portion of this trip  And don't even get me started on the chocolate I've inhaled as a result either :rotfl: Part of me thinks it might just be worth it to book a roundtrip with USAir and hope my dad doesn't mind schlepping to MCO to get me AND schlepping back a couple days later... I really want to do MVMCP and I'm nervous it'll sell out so I'm anxious to get these decisions made but need Allegiant Air to hurry it up! :rolleyes1

Ahhh... so many decisions!!! :lmao:

my quoter is being lame, but to answer we have mostly stayed in and around London. Made a couple of Day trips to Dover and Rye. Just love the history there!

I do, too! It's just so fascinating! :thumbsup2 I spent most of the time I've been in England in and around London as well. I hope to make it over to Ireland on my next trip across the pond. I hit up Scotland on a day trip last April and that was amazing... albeit very rainy and cold! :sad2:

Joining in late, but hoping that reading along will make me less sad about taking a staycation this week. I love solo trips too, after going on my first one November 2014, but I definitely enjoyed some lollygagging!

 There's definitely a place for lollygagging on my trips as well, but I'm so Type A that time is usually scheduled and strictly adhered to :rotfl: I hope your staycation goes well. Think of the Disboards time you'll have AND it sure is cheaper than an non-staycation! ;)

Hmmm, first trip was to Disney Land in 2005 with DH and 2 daughters. Next trips were to Disney World with youngest daughter only in 2012 and 2013, solo in 2014. I caught the magic on the first trip, walking up to the entrance gates to exchange paper vouchers for our tickets, and hearing the happy music playing.
Favorite park - Magic Kingdom
Favorite rides - Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, and Soarin'
Favorite characters - Cinderella and Aurora and Belle and Ariel....
Favorite restaurant - Columbia Harbour House

:cloud9: to "catching the magic" :thumbsup2

I wholeheartedly approve of all your favorites!!! ::yes::

There's nothing worse than a lame quoter.
You can quote me on that.
Or not.

joining in! I can't wait to hear all about your trip! everything sounds good so far.

for your future date....we went in January once--there were lots of Brazilian tour groups to maneuver around in the parks. if you can avoid those, it's pretty nice to go then. also, they do a lot of the runDisney marathons and runs then. that can make things a little more crowded

we used to go in November a lot, usually the week before thanksgiving. we loved it. great weather, low crowds, Christmas decorations up

really though, any time at Disney is a good time, right?

YOu could always bounce both ideas off of your dad and see what he thinks. Also seeing what of those dates work best for him might help you narrow down as well.
