I am going crazy - yes, this is a whine!

I had my hysterectomy two years ago and I so understand!

And as far as "crying at the drop of a hat", I remember one day trying to tie the drawstring of my sweatpants and I couldn't make the bow come out even so I sat down on the bathroom floor and had a crying fit! Yeah, I can understand where you're coming from for sure! :rotfl:

Hummm, I was thinking a hysterectomy might not be a bad gig-get rid of your period for life :thumbsup2 but now, maybe not so much...

OP, I was going to say just drive over yourself but I didn't realize you were on drugs still and I didn't think about the falling aspect. When I had my C-sections no one told me I wasn't supposed to drive, so I did (and we had a stick shift then). I didn't have any problems though.

OK, I gotta tell you that if I wanted to go to Target and my husband knew I was dependent on him for a ride and he gave me that kind of attitude I'd be calling a cab to drive me the 45 miles.

I'd definitely be negotiating with a nice local cab driver. Or-a college student or a neighbor. I'm thinking though-are you going to walk through Target? Ours are huge, cement floors and badly laid out.

Believe me, it was well worth a few weeks of frustrations and nuttiness. Hands down, best thing I ever did for myself!

As far as comparing it to a c-section though, there actually is no comparison. It was a totally different recovery. Think of it this way, that baby was meant to come out - your uterus wasn't! ;)

I have been in those same hysterectomy shoes and I totally get feeling cooped up and dependant on everyone! Not driving is so frustrating...and even though I was in no way ready to drive, not being able to go somewhere on my own made me insane. Even though you know your husband is right, those walls just close in on you until just leaving the house sounds like paradise. Have fun at your aunt's tonight, it will be fun because you get to be around other people!!!!!!

Yes, that is the part that is driving me nuts - not being able to just hop in the van and going. On my own time. We had a good time at my aunt's. However, we left at 10:45. I was exhausted. I am so surprised how tired I get so fast. It just hits with no warning. :faint: (I know that's supposed to be fainting, but he looks like he's sleeping to me!)

Yeah, that's kind of where I am right now. Really wasn't prepared for that. :upsidedow

Yup, the meds kind of mess things up. I would stop them, but then the pain comes back. And then I look like this...

Well, like I said, no cabs in the area. I have thought about asking someone else to take me, but I really don't want to bother anyone.

I have been told by anyone I have talked to that this was the best thing they have ever done. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I agree that there is no comparison to a C-section. Before I had this surgery, I was thinking they were very similar. I had two C-sections and they were a breeze compared to this. Of course, I had a very nice package to take home with me at the end. ;)

Thank you so much to all of you! You have helped to brighten my day and make me feel better!! :flower3:

It will be one of the best things you've ever done. Not just the no period thing, which is awesome, but having all the problems that resulted in the hysterectomy gone is a life-changer.

It is amazing how easily you get tired...not that you would ever use that, but it is handy if there is an event you might want to skip!!

Yes, my mom and sister keep telling me it's okay if I want to skip the wedding tomorrow. Even with all the drama surrounding it, I wouldn't miss it for the world. I love weddings - usually. ;)
