How to avoid error code when booking at 8am?

I have been trying to book at 11 months for several days at 8am. I either get error or service issues. This morning I thought I had it. the confirm page was there but then got a message and was unable to hit confirm I had to go back and then the room was gone. I am a new owner this is only my second booking is there anything I can do to get a reservation?

It's hard to say unless we know what the error says.

Doe this happen during other times when booking or only at 8am?
 
It’s a tough one. My successes are load the search parameters. Only search for exactly what you are attempting to get. Right at the top of the hour moment..search..if shows it’s there..quick click it..then quick click that continue (or whatever that says).

Once grabs & takes to the booking info..it should be held in queue for you. If nervous just enter lead person info & move on..get to “personal use” & book. Should get the congratulation with option to return to dashboard.

After you stop sweating & the palms of your hands dry..can go back & modify it..adding guests etc.
 
It seems to only happen at 8am I have gotten Rex system down. I can’t remember what the pop up said this morning but happened just after availability showed but before I could click confirm. Hard to book since I can’t get first day. Was trying for first week in December now I am up to second. Maybe I will luck out tomorrow
 

If it happens only at 8 am, are you not grabbing the room quick enough and then it’s gone when you go to confirm?

Try clearing your browsing history and then follow the steps @Wedgeout gave - load the parameters you want prior to 8 am and then exactly at 8 am hit search. Just put in lead person’s name and check the box that the reservation is for personal use. You can add guests later on.
 
try an incognito browser window
I was also going to say that. I was trying to email MS through the website last night and couldn’t click the “done” button. I chatted with MS and they told me to clear the browser history and/or use an incognito browser window. The issue was the hyphen in my last name.

@Ellen - any luck booking this morning?

You may just be suffering a normal problem if you are seeking certain high demand rooms. For example, for that Dec time of year BWV resort and boardwalk view studios (and 2BRs), and AKV value studios (and 2BRs), often fill for any given start date at 11-months out within a nano-second past 8 a.m. and many making the attempt just get an error message.
 
Don't give up. There are some rooms that are filled by walkers, reducing availability each morning. That happened to me when I was trying to book for this past December. However, once people walked a little further I was able to go back and grab the dates I was looking for.
 
This morning i got service down again. I did clear browser before I started. I was able to get preferred view was trying for resort view so at least i have something. This afternoon i see that more rooms opened for first week so maybe it is the walkers. I own at BLT I guess December is popular everywhere. I usually go in November for food and wine and start of Christmas but thought i would like to experience Epcot Christmas festival. Points are also less in December. I have studio booked now my son may go so will have to try for 1 bedroom.
When you modify can you change room size and view or only dates?

The same thing started happening to us about a week ago, even during the day, not just at 8:00. I was able to call Member Services and get readies for December, but no idea why it won’t let me book a reservation. I either get a blank page, an error the seven dwarfs or Rex saying someone ate the page. Everything else on the DVC site is working. My dashboard is accurate, dues, etc. We’ve been members since 2002 and this is a first. If this doesn’t fix itself in a couple of days I will call Disney IT. I’m working off my IPad, but phone is doing the same thing. Anyone else beside OP having issues?

I have had it happen in the past. My recommendation is :
1. clear your browsing data
2. if you use a pop-up blocker then disable it for the DVC website
3. update your browser to the most current version.

First week of Dec is actually the highest DVC room demand week of the year at WDW, second week is third highest. (Christmas week is second highest.) The first two weeks have long been in that position. It was generally caused by those first two weeks having lower point costs than other times in the fall (before 2021 the first two weeks of Dec actually had the lowest per night point costs of the year), the ability to see lots of Christmas things at the time but not having the parks overcrowded, and the fact that the annual members' meeting usually took place during that time.

And as you notice, sometimes nights open just past the beginning of the 11-month window. That is actually a more modern phenomenon that did not happen in the past but started a couple years ago, and appears to be the result of the significant increase in the number of walkers passing by over what existed before then.
 
I ran into this problem this morning in my multi-day walk attempt. Selected the dates I wanted, the dates were available, went to go book it and things just kept spinning. And then I got the 7 dwarfs on the page with something like "something went wrong! try again" sort of error message.

Tried again...went to My Dashboard and that took forever to load. Then finally (luckily) was able to walk my reservation forward by 1 day.

But I had same problem happen a couple of days ago and somebody took the dates I wanted by the time I was able to reload.
 
Got to the final page for a room this morning to click the confirm button, then got dwarves.
Lost the room!
