Grumpyone yes we did pay with credit card and if they try to give me the run around that is one charge that will be rapidly disputed. I will also be contacting the better business bureau and using my talent as a "talker" 
for that dreaded or loved "word of mouth" thing.
I was wondering last night if they just used compressed air and blew on it. When we took the camera in they said - Oh an XTI - well that is supposed to be self cleaning.
Obviously it is not totally 100% self cleaning or I wouldn't have been there to begin with.
The company has been in business for 40 years - so I am really hoping they hold true to what I have heard about them and customer service and satisfaction is their #1 priority. I can't imagine someone being in business for 40 years and making things like this a habit.
Hopefully it was simply human error and someone thought the camera had been cleaned when it hadn't.
