I’m on the fence about what to do and I can’t make a decision

I currently have the pixie pass, but the fact is, I don’t go to Disney during the summer and I barely go on weekends

I know I can downgrade to the Disney annual pass Florida

But I’ve had my annual pass now for over 10 years and I think I wanna take a Disney break, I don’t know what to do

I know if I renew my pass there’s a discount and I can still downgrade, but what happens if I cancel completely is the math worth it to save some money for a year or am I gonna end up paying more in the long run?

Just need some passholder advice

It depends how long of a break you'll be taking between trips. If you're planning to take a year or more away from Disney, then it's probably good to let it expire and buy new when you're ready. If you're concerned you might change your mind and want to sneak in a visit, renewing might be better!

I'm confused. The Pixie Pass is the lowest pass available and is blocked on weekends.

Do you perhaps have the Pirate or Sorcerers pass?

I got myself and daughters the pirate pass. It's the second highest. It costs a lot, but if you go a lot, it's worth it. We've taken some days off school to go and it works for weekends. You can't get a lot of holidays though, unfortunately, but if you go 4 to 5 times, it's worth it.

Only problem is my oldest wants to go to Universal more, so we might be switching some passes around for next year. She's fifteen and growing out of this whole Disney bubble.

I think you are confused on the pass levels so it's hard to determine which pass you have and to what you are considering "downgrading."

  • The Pixie Dust pass is the lowest level (cheapest) -- it blocks out pretty much all weekends, peak times and holidays. Available only to FL residents. You cannot "downgrade" from the Pixie Dust pass.
  • The Pirate Pass is the next level up; it blocks peak times and holidays. Available only to FL residents.
  • The Sorcerer Pass blocks out primarily Thanksgiving and the last 2 weeks of December. It is available to both FL residents and some DVC.
  • Incredi-pass is the highest level, available to all, no block-outs.

There are other tickets options available to FL residents if you don't want an AP and only plan to visit the parks occasionally.

Ah, I think I was only looking at Florida resident only passes. The menu I used had pirate pass as the second highest. The pirate pass is pretty good

The way the math usually works out, if you are not going to a park for more than 2-3 months after the expiration of your current AP it's cheaper to let it lapse and buy a new one for the next trip. You'll have to pay full price for the new one but it will start the clock from then.
