Hubby got a Camera & I got Christmas!!! 51 Chapters Completed!! 926 Pics!

Mrs Claus looks a LOT like the Fairy Godmother of Cinderella. I bet they are "friends". :)

I didn't even notice all the different wreaths near iasw! Then again I was really only there at night. Isn't a surprise that the one I took a picture of has the tulip in it, because when I had the record of the song, my FAVORITE part was when the little Dutch kids are clacking their wooden shoes.

Loving the pictures!

I imagine they are friends!! :rotfl:

I remembered seeing pictures of the wreaths....so it was a quest of mine to get my own pics.

:worship: Thanx!!

Chapter Twelve~~I'm playing in Mickey's House!

If you haven't ever taken the time to go thru Mickey & Minnie's homes....you really should. There are so many details in these houses.....we see new stuff everytime we go. I didn't get into Minnie house this trip, but I did take the time to go thru Mickey's so I could see him at the end.

197.jpg

I love some of the historical things found in the house:

So as I passing thru the house, I kept thinking things had been rearranged & maybe some new stuff......might just be me......but I had never seen this before.

208.jpg

Or this..........

211.jpg

212.jpg

About this point of the house, the two "happy" guys behind me started moaning & groaning about the kids & how this one toddler kept getting up by them............ :rolleyes1 Ummm, dudes....you're in Disneyland at Mickey's House....chances are, there are gonna be kids......LOTS OF THEM!!! Just deal with it & chillax!!!

So I made it to the viewing room....which meant seeing Mickey was next up!!

214.jpg

215.jpg

Now this is the sad part for this chapter.......I got the photopass pic taken.....but not one on my camera....weird. So no Mickey picture after the build up.....sorry about that. Guess you'll just have to stick with me to see the photopass pics when I get those!!!!

So I had to edit this post as I realized about 3am this morning....that I hadn't talked about Goofy's house & was sure I had uploaded those pics to photobucket.......so going back & hoping that not everyone will miss these!!

This is Donald's Boat.....very festive!!

217.jpg

This is Goofy's House........the garland & wreath had whatever Goofy could find to put in it.......I wish I had taken more close up shots to show you all the crazy stuff that was hanging from his house.

Watermelon, strawberry & a bowling ball to name a few.....lol

No Christmas tomorrow will be next.

Uh huh, I bet it was a plan. Get us hooked and then no Mickey Mouse. Sniff, sniff.......;)

:rotfl:

I'll be here.

I'll be here.

:rolleyes1 Now would I do that?? :confused3 :rotfl2: Actually I had forgotten that I didn't have a pic on my camera & was bummed out when I realized I didn't get one. I'm pretty sure I handed it off, but maybe not. :upsidedow Oh well.......we'll just make you wait to find out what costume he was wearing!! popcorn::

I always did like a good mystery!!

aww caught up

I love how they have reindeer display and your addition of Rudolph is hilarious :rotfl2:

Wreaths are great,. I started going through them, trying to guess countries, but I had to give up

the first one is USA...I know that at least :lmao:

That is nice DLand still has their Toon Town. I wonder if they will get rid of it eventually like they just did at DW.

Love all the cool stuff in Mickey's House :thumbsup2

Well no Christmas story is complete without Rudolph!!!

I didn't realize that WDW didn't have ToonTown.....I've never been, but guess I expected a lot of the same between the two.

Mickey's house has some neat memorabilia in it (or at least replicas).......kinda cool to look at if you're not being pushed thru the house. I find the best time to go thru the 2 houses is during ToonTown Morning Madness if you can get tickets to it. The place is pretty much empty (or when Mickey & Minnie are not going to be in the house)

Chapter Thirteen~~No Christmas Tomorrow....ok, in Tomorrowland.......

Tomorrowland was next on my walking tour, and like Adventureland....not a lot of Christmas to be found. I didn't go into Innoventions to look, but by the looks of this area.....there will be no Christmas in the future!!

So I made my way towards the castle. A large crowd had gathered to watch the Fantasyland Band with Mary Poppins & Bert singing & dancing.

228.jpg

I loved this shot.....unfortunately, this lady's head popped up right when I was shooting it!

While they did another song, I ventured off to get some daytime shots of the castle.

I tried to get the statue with the castle in the background.

Looking back up towards the train station & the Mickey head wreaths as they lead to the Christmas tree.

245.jpg

The holiday popcorn bucket. I came home without one of them!

Next chapter: Oh My My, Heaven in a cup!!!!

yay, more updates

Love Mary Poppins :goodvibes

I really like the snow they have on the castle...very nice touch :thumbsup2

Oh, do they plan on bringing it back when the expansion is done.....or is history??

Mary & Bert always so much fun!!

The castle is pretty neat to see daytime & nighttime!

Chapter 14~~Oh My My, Heaven in a Cup!!

Off to Frontierland.

247.jpg

249.jpg

Time to go use my FP for my ride on Big Thunder Mtn. Railroad!! Love this ride........never disappoints!!

At this point, I'm getting hungry....so I decide to get lunch at Cafe Orleans. I had hung out by the restaurant at their opening earlier in the day, hoping to run into a fellow diva who was there with her family.....but unfortunately I never did see Diana (deesquared). The smells from this restaurant got me craving their delicious offerings.....so I knew I would be coming back to satisfy those cravings.

I ordered the cup of gumbo & the pomme frites. I knew I'd never get through all that food......but had to have some of these yummy fries!! During the holidays, they offer gingerbread beignets. I was super excited to try them......but I will say.....totally disappointed with them. The flavor was good, but the consistancy was not like the regular beignets~~light & fluffy. These were like 2 separate layers that were connected but the middle was empty (hard to explain but they were dry & not that great)

250.jpg

252.jpg

I was seated outside & got to people watch.....but it was chilly & I didn't have a sweatshirt with me. I finished lunch & searched for some sunshine!

I ended up back at the castle so I could get some photopass pics done.

253.jpg

254.jpg

And then to the Partner's Statue for a few more photopass pics. I ended up with the same guy I had during the diva/anniversary trip in March. I feel like he should be saying "work it" as you pose for the camera......lol Great CM who really enjoys what he's doing.

255.jpg

256.jpg

I headed towards the Main St tree when I got a text from Sherry. She was free & so she met me up by the tree & we decided to hit up Coke Corner to get a drink. I of course, got the Cherry Coke. Coca-Cola makes a special cherry syrup just for Disneyland & this is the only place you can get it. It's a must every trip!! We got our drinks & found a bench to go & visit. Sherry & I have conversed on the DIS for a few years, but this was our first meeting. It was nice just chatting as we people watched. The crowds were starting to line Main Street to secure a spot for the parade later on & the next thing we knew, the CM's needed the bench.....so we got up & headed back up towards the train station, as we would be enjoying the parade from the VIP seating on the platform.

I got a text from Molly who would be joining us......she was at the bakery & would come find us after she got her coffee.

As we were standing on the platform, the announcement came on for the start of the Flag Retreat. This is always a moving ceremony that honors are military & our country.

After the Flag Retreat, they do the tree lighting. I don't know why I thought this was a big ceremony in itself.....I swear I saw something with the Mayor of Disneyland & Mickey, bringing up a kiddo to flip the switch. If anyone knows about this.....please fill me in!!!

At this point the VIP area had been opened up for us to sit on the benches. I got to sit in this area for the fireworks in March......awesome view for that....so was excited to see the parade from this vantage point!!

Next up: Well, this isn't so hot!

Chapter Fifteen~~Well This Isn't So Hot!

Getting VIP seating for the parade, thanks to Sherry for arranging this for her out of state friends, was an exciting notion.......unfortunately, we soon figured out that we didn't get a super great view for the parade. Ok, the view was ok, once you looked over the top of the railing that was perfectly set for eye level, but trying to get pictures, was almost impossible. The perfect shot off to the left as the parade rounds the corner by City Hall, is blocked by people standing at the top of the stairs on the platform. You got a clear view of the parade, once they were directly in front of you....but at this point, it was a side view. I didn't get very many good pictures & it was freezing.......so goes the title......this isn't so hot!

Here are the pics I deemed good enough to share......lol

Now, please don't think I'm complaining about being able to sit in the VIP area.....I'm extremely thankful for Sherry inviting Molly & I to join. I guess you think VIP & expect that your seats will give you the absolute best view of the parade.....so I guess I was a tad disappointed that I wasn't able to get amazing photos from here. I was thankful to have a seat (with a back) & be with good friends!!

After the parade, I made sure we got a picture done of the 3 of us.....probably a good thing I did.....I believe we got the picture at Goofy's Kitchen & that was it.......lol

So here's Molly, me & Sherry!!

355.jpg

The next chapter: It's so sparkly*+*+*+*

It looks like it was cold. Ironically I was thinking how nice it was to see the parade without people right in front of you.

Laurie, WDW's toontown got all torn down. I guess it was only ever their summer house, so to speak, as Disneyland's was their real home. Still sad for those who like TT! I totally forgot all about TT this trip. While over near small world I didn't even *think* about it! How weird is that? So I was glad to see your really neat pictures; you got details I've never seen at all.

Chapter Seventeen~~It's So Sparkly*+*+*+*+*

After the picture, Sherry & Molly each went their separate ways & I went towards the castle so I could watch the castle lighting & fireworks.

I stopped to look up the lit up Christmas tree on Main Street.

356.jpg

The castle was beautiful at night......pretty colors, sparkly icicles & lights.....glorious to see in person!!

The next installment will be: I have the best view of the castle!!! Where are the Fireworks??

It looks like it was cold. Ironically I was thinking how nice it was to see the parade without people right in front of you.

It was nice to not have people all up in your space & not having to sit on the cold pavement......just wish they wouldn't have let people stand right in our visual path to see the parade come around the corner.

Laurie, WDW's toontown got all torn down. I guess it was only ever their summer house, so to speak, as Disneyland's was their real home. Still sad for those who like TT! You missed ToonTown?? It's so darned cute in there!!! Well yay for us at Disneyland & :sad2: for those at WDW :rotfl:
