As I got up to the backside of the Meet-n-Greet, I noticed that they had redone the picture backdrop......this used to be a really cute, cartoonish honey pots, etc & now it's just kinda blah......

Pooh's Corner offered decorative touches on the buildings which I enjoyed!!

The tree skirt I wished was coming home with me this trip.......but not for $75 (kinda glad I didn't buy it too....the tree I have this year goes all the way to the floor....even the gifts aren't going under it....so the skirt wouldn't have been seen at all!! lol

The Christmas tree in the store:

When I got outside, I realized that Tigger & Pooh were greeting guests & the line wasn't super long.....so I got in it. They've totally redone the meet-n-greet area. You used to start on the right with Pooh bear & then go around the half circle clockwise.......now you start on the left, which was Tigger today & do the half circle, counter clockwise, ending with Pooh. They've added some decorate touches to make you feel like you're in the 100 Acre Woods.

YAY!!!!! TIGGER!!! I love me some Tigger, always have!! He's just one of those characters that I get a big grin when I see!!

With a smile on my face, I head back past Splash Mtn & the Haunted Mansion & head towards Frontierland.

Next Chapter will be: Hold on to your hats & glasses, we're gonna find us some reindeer!!

Laurie, I don't know what your situation is right at the moment, but I just saw that tree skirt on disneystore.com for 52.46, and you might be able to use FREESHIP for free shipping on it.

Thanx for the info Molly!! Unfortunately I'm not able to take advantage of it :sad1: Right now the 7 kids have one gift each.......Mike gets paid next Thursday & I'll have about $400 to finish shopping, stockings & groceries.....

Maybe after the holidays, I'll be able to take advantage of some of the After Christmas sales!! :yay:

Would love to see Haunted Mansion all decorated for holidays. I wish they do that in disney World

Great pics of Pooh and Tigger :thumbsup2

I remember reading a while back that there was a contract dispute between Tim Burton & Disney & the possibility of the Nightmare Before Christmas ending....I was really hoping they would work things out so I'd get to see it...... here's a clip from a media site that was discussing this a few years ago:

Tell your readers to enjoy 'Haunted Mansion Holiday' while they can. There's a rumor flying around TDA that Tim Burton wants Disney to pull the plug on "The Nightmare Before Christmas" -themed overlay of 'The Haunted Mansion.' Supposedly because Burton feels that this seasonal retheming cheapens & commercializes his 1994 film.

If Tim gets his way, 2006 could be the farewell season for this holiday favorite. So be sure and get the word out."

So glad they worked this out!! Hope you are able to get there in the near future to see it for yourself Kelly!!!

I bet you'll be able to get it for an even bigger bargain next month!

"Supposedly because Burton feels that this seasonal retheming cheapens & commercializes his 1994 film."

Sounds to me like he didn't get a good deal on merchandising. ;)

And...for us, it brought me TO the film! I didn't understand the overlay at all, but it helped me be convinced to watch the movie (which I'd actively avoided for years and years), and finally I'm used to the movie, and I'm basically fine with it.

I think it was in '07 that I was able to see it with the NBC overlay on it, so I'm glad they worked it out after that '06 quote. Otherwise, DS would never have seen it because I wouldn't have been convinced to BUY it for hubby.

Sorry for the blather, but it did have something to do with what you said! I'll be quiet now. :) :dance3:

Loving the pics and TR as always. I would bet money the Disney lawyers made them get rid of the honey pots because either kids had ALREADY fallend and got hurt or it was too much of a possibility. I used to see kids on that thing ALL the time and they were constantly telling them to get off. Sad but I don't blame them in a way.

Love the tree skirt! Hope you are able to find it after the holidays!!

Very interesting tidbit there

I am glad they settled that too

Thanks...:goodvibes

We saw the movie long before I realized they did the HM overlay.....of course once I heard that I wanted to see it!! When the news came out about the possible split, I was sad.....glad they worked out the little (money) :rolleyes1 details......lol

Hi Kelly!! I know it was a safety thing, but it also was so cute....just sad when you get used to something....it changes on you. Nice they kept one pot there for old times sake!!

I did get the set of 4 ornaments that match the tree skirt.......like I said, this year a tree skirt would have been a waste of money.....the tree limbs are on the floor....... :rotfl:

Me too!! :yay:

I like Molly had avoided the movie at all costs. It just didn't interest me. Then in 2005 when we visited in December we rode on it and we all fell in love. Kody doesn't like the ride unless it is all dressed up for the holidays.

I wish I would have ridden it more than once....so much to see......but I enjoyed it.......but nothing can replace the original!!

Love the pooh pictures!! I hope to see them when I go on New Years.

Pooh & Tigger just make you smile.....hope you get to see them too!!!

I think that there is so much that is cute on HMH. I am sure you see something new every time.

I have never seen Rabbit but I have seen Piglet at Walt Disney World.

We really lucked out in 05, it was my son, Anthony's first trip & he was 4......before we got in line for Pooh & Tigger, Piglet came out & did a small greet outside the Meet-n-Greet area, so he got to hug Piglet.....then we did the Meet-n-Greet with Pooh, Tigger & Eeyore had come & joined them. Then as we were leaving, Rabbit came out & my son ran right up to him & hugged him......it was so cute!!!

I had a friend that does at Disney blog & she said that seeing Piglet & Rabbit is rare at Disneyland & we saw both!!!
