That's horrible. I hope everyone is alright. That article is really recent from the time I am posting, and they don't seem to be making progress. Hostages and everyone in a state of panic are not good. I hope this gets resolved w/out anyone getting hurt.

I just heard about it on the news. And it is kinda of weird, because I am currently reading a true story, "She Said Yes", about a school shooting that happened in 1999, in the same county (Jefferson) as the school that is under attack now. The school in the book is Columbine HS. Hope everything turns out positively!

i love that book it has a lot of meaning in it.
but its sad.

i htink its wierd because this morning we were talking in my german class tomorrow we are scheduled(and have been for a week) to have a lock-down drill where we all hide in the classrooms and such. and that got us started on columbine. it just strikes me as really really weird.

Wow, that is just so weird how that happened at the same time. I am about half way through the book and it is truly wonderful. Anyone who has not read it yet definately should.

"BAILEY, Colorado (Sept. 27) - A middle-aged gunman walked into the high school in this mountain town Wednesday, fired at least two shots and took six people hostage before the situation ended with his death, authorities said.

Lance Clem, spokesman for the state Department of Public Safety, said the gunman was dead, but had no immediate details on his death. He also did not know the condition of two young girls who were being held hostage after the other four hostages were released from Platte Canyon High School, but a Denver hospital confirmed that it was treating someone in critical condition from the scene.

Jacki Kelley, spokeswoman for the Jefferson County sheriff, declined to release details pending a formal news conference.

Authorities had what they described as "sporadic" negotiations with the suspect and urged him to contact them for more discussion. Officers eventually crept close to the building, and there were reports of an explosion inside.

A short time later, someone wheeled a gurney inside and took an unidentified person to a medical helicopter parked on the school's football field.

I have also read "she Said Yes", and it is really touching. I hope everyone is ok (mentally and psychologically). I don't even know what I would do if that happened at my school. I think I'd die from panic.
