We'll be at VWL soon! I'd like to attend the member update at OKW. I've never been to OKW and I've never been to a member update. What would be the best way to get to OKW from VWL with no rental car, lol? (Updates are at 8 a.m. before the buses run I believe.)

Thanks!

I agree, taking a bus would be tough. You can certainly take a cab (should be about $10). Bell Services will assist securing the caab when you need it.

You might also check with your Bell Staff about other options. You may be OK with a bus if you take the bus from VWL to the EE park that day and then catch the bus to OKW from that park (I'd allow an hour for that trip).

The member updates are fun. There is also one Thursday mornings at BWV (also at 8:00am). You could take the bus to MGM from VWL and walk to BWV.

Buses do start making their runs at least an hour before the park opens- sometimes even earlier.

Enjoy the update!!

To keep in mind when weighing cab vs. bus. To go resort-to-resort you need to allow at least an hour, maybe a bit more, to be on the safe side. If you take a cab from VWL to OKW it should take no more than 15 minutes. After the meeting you can just catch a bus from OKW to the park of your choice. Two easy stops from where the meeting will be are the stop out in front of the lobby, by the General Store or, since you'll be by the pool area, you'll see another stop across the water/road. You'd walk over the bridge to get to that one -- Peninsular Road. It's six of one --- except if you get on at Peninsular you'll also take a little ride around the resort.

This is my recommendation. Make sure you give yourself a full hour, or maybe a little more....

Take the Magic Kindom bus from OKW, and then walk over to the boat launch to Wilderness Lodge.

on the return, do the reverse.

Does this sound right to everyone? Doing this from memory, so please double check with others.

If you are at WLV, take a bus or boat launch to the Magic Kingdom, and then go to where you catch the buses out front, and grab the bus to OKW. The bus driver will let you know where to get off if you don't already know. And once you get to the Member Update, they will feed you, so don't worry about breakfast. If you aren't into donuts:eek: you can always catch breakfast at Olivia's.

well this is silly but you could walk - if you are young enough and in good shape - it is around 3 to 4 miles - go through FW (not the outside road) - walk through FW - then go to the outside road.

when you get to the kennel at FW - you are 2 miles from OKW

I don't think Disney allows pedestrians on the roadways so Ft. Wilderness would be the end of the walk. The idea of the walk from WL to Ft. Wilderness sounds like it might be fun on a not too hot (or cold) day.

not really - in the old days when I was young and have lots of energy - Spicey (my cat) has always stayed in either FW or Epcot kennel - he was in FW - so one time I walked it - it is not far and there are places where you can walk along the side - however some joggers might disagree - they have a tendency to jog in the road - not along side....
