How to get cheap Plus options?

I tried this question over at the Budget Board with no luck, so I'm hoping someone here can help.

We're taking a trip in September during which we'll want to spend more time at the water parks and PI than the theme parks, and we have access to free theme park tickets. Therefore what we need is a bunch of Plus option tickets.

Having lurked around here for a couple of years, it seems that I frequently read posts from people saying they never use all their plus options, the unused plus tickets are starting to pile up, the junk drawer is clogged with dozens of unused plus tickets, etc. Since this seems to be a common thing, I thought it might be possible to find Plus options on sale at eBay, or from a ticket discounter, or someone. Not the case.

So the question is, am I imagining things when I think that many people consider Plus options to be practically worthless? If not, where might I find a place to get them cheap?

Thanks in advance for any advice, since as you know, the Plus options are *not* worthless and I'm hoping to save some money over the gate price at the water parks.

I have no idea, but what you have in mind sounds like a great idea. Good luck!

Well, the problem with selling PLUS options is that the only way to legally do so is by selling them as part of an unused multiday ticket. If you get "caught" using a ticket that is not yours, Disney will simply confiscate it without refund or compensation. The chances of that happening are slim, but it does happen from time to time (I've seen it happen several times myself).

It is also impossible for the buyer to verify the number of PLUS options left on the ticket without inquiring directly at WDW, so the potential for rip-offs is great - too great in my opinion. Check out http://www.insideedition.com/investigative/ticket_scams.htm for some more info.

One other options, if you're going to be spending a boatload of time at PI and Waterparks:

For the Waterparks, buy season passes. At $136.74 for adults and $104.94 for children ages 3-9 it may not be the best bargain.

But for PI, go the first night, pay your $22 for a one night pass, and upgrade it to the "Carpe PM" pass. Five bucks at the time of sale gets you and additional five nights, so it's six nights for $27. Note, these are consecutive nights only.

If you use the PI deal do find a couple extra Pluses, then you can use all the pluses for waterparks and get PI cheap. Whadda bargain.
