How much notice will we have for Genie+?

G+ will be the same daily cost that MP was before closure. MP raised to $20/day back in February 2020.

100% agree it's a downgrade, though, and a lot of the value is lost for many families.
Oh man, I must be blanking. I thought it was initially $10/day then went to $15/day, but it must have been $15 and then $20. I had the AP add-on so I probably wasn't paying close attention at the end.

That is what they did at WDW. They got rid of the virtual queue for ROTR before G+ went live.
I think that was because Ratatouille was about to open and since the parks aren’t right next to each other they don’t let you get a BG if you don’t start in that park. So this way it’s possible to do both Ratatouille and ROTR in the same day. Currently Ratatouille is doing a virtual queue and individual LL

The only thing is with everyone saying "24 hrs notice"

you're forgetting this affects DAS. Right now, at WDW, they're booking DAS for visits beginning Nov 1.
Either new DAS won't roll out with this or they won't give less than 2 weeks notice

I'd say Nov 1 is still a possibility unless there turn out to be HUGE glitches and failures in the system at WDW. That gives IT 2 weeks (well, 13 days) to monitor the system and how it's working and then to fine tune it. Of course I know nothing about 'real' IT so I'm not sure if I'm being realistic or not.

As far as advanced notice, if they give more than 24 - 48 hours I'd be surprised. They'll use this initial period of G+ at WDW to 'fine tune' the system and see if they need to change anything to make it work at DL, then they'll offer it at DL with little notice. The less notice, the less time they'll have to listen to us grumble and bad mouth it in advance.
Huge glitches like them having Loren ipsum in the legal disclaimer 😂

This program is so half baked and not ready for prime time that I question the competence of every executive that is greenlighting this.

Honestly at this point I’m starting to root against Disney so their hubris bites them and takes them down a few pegs.

Edit: Half Baked not half naked! 😳

If you can only get one "fastpass" per ride, then are you guaranteed to get a fastpass for each attraction that has one?

Part of that was the crowd levels did not warrant it. As they increased the line did not go to insanity so they have left it alone for now but have said they could reinstate it at any time.

Remy has both a virtual queue and the option to purchase an ILL so they are not mutually exclusive.

I would not count on the virtual queue going away when Genie+ and ILL happen.

Did they really??? Or do you mean that their legal disclaimer was gobbledegook to start with?

As someone else said, it did go $10 (introductory price July 2017), then $15 (January 2019), then $20 (February 2020) 😊.

It was included in my pass cost since I had a Sig+, but I often bought it for friends I went with so I paid attention to the increases for that reason.

FreshBaked! remarked that he noticed that Fast Pass signage has been removed in the parks. (not just the kiosks, which apparently have been gone for a while)

Anyone else notice this? I am a month out and after watching his live stream with 45 minute wait for Star Tours I am getting very nervous. Star Tours, 45 minutes??!! :faint:

Ahhhhhh yes! I’ll be there the 31st through the 5th and I’m really hoping it launches this week (ideally) or next week (while I’m there)

Don’t know what day he went, but I was there Friday and star tours was 10 minutes posted at 7PM.

Also Space was posted with a 75 minute wait and it was closer to 40.

Overall I would classify Friday as high crown, scary posted wait times that in reality weren’t nearly as bad. Indy was also expected to be 35 and was closer to 15.

Wait times in general on they days I’ve been in the parks have been great without FastPass and I really wish they would leave the lines as is (with the exception of pay per rides for Radiator and Rise, those will always be long/hard to get and people should have alternatives for.)

He was there on Saturday. You could see the line and even he was stunned. Said no way would he wait in that. (I agree!)

If you watch his new video on WDW and Genie+ I think you’ll be happy with how it affects standby lines.

Everyone has their own way to tour, I am happy for G+. Worth every penny to me. I was there over July 4th and the crowds were lighter then compared to now and I did not enjoy it. I don’t like waiting in line. I’ve been ruined by MaxPass. I know G+ won’t be the same, but it’s better than nothing for my touring style.

Here’s his video on G+. Comparing is around the 5.47 mark.
