Yesterday I got my first manicure and pedicure. We are going on a cruise this weekend and I thought it would be a nice treat.

So, I am wondering how much you normally pay for a manicure and pedicure? I thought it was rather expensive and I want to see if what I paid was in line with what others pay. I can't imagine getting it done every two weeks!!

I got a classic manicure and an express pedicure. The lady told me that about 80% of the people get shellac manicure instead of a classic manicure and that is $13 more. The express pedicure I got was just a basic pedicure, no foot massage, heating wrap, etc. that the other pedicures include.

I only get pedis (and only a couple times each year!), not manis, and I pay $30 for a "spa pedi" - which includes calf massage (and whatever lotion they use for that is INCREDIBLE - my legs are sooooo soft afterwards!). I'm pretty sure if I added a mani to that, it'd be around $45.

This shellac manicure seems to be the thing! I haven't had one but their supposed to be great and the nail polish is supposed to last much longer than on the regular manicure.

I'm thinking of getting tips put back on. I miss my pretty fake nails:lmao:

mani $8.00
Shellac $25.00 (well worth it for vacations!!!!)

Pedi - $18.00 that includes short massage and creams and stuff .... spa pedi's start at 30.00

add 5.00 for French!

I do my own at home. I bought a uv light and supplies from eBay to do gel manicures. It costs about $4 per application, which lasts about 10 days chip free and perfect. After that there is enough new growth that I want to redo it, but my nails grow fast.

I'm sure this isn't for everyone. I have been doing my own nails for 33 years and I am very careful to cure them properly. If you aren't the DIY type check your local beauty school. Shellac at ours is $15.

I pay $40 for a spa pedicure and $25 for a manicure. If I get them done together, I can usually get both for $50 (the spa I use often runs a special).

I got a pedi yesterday. It included a calf massage, hot stone massage (my first and I'm sold on it!), and the heat wraps. This nail salon offers a special price on pedis M-W so it was $20, normally $25. I had never been to this salon before but I can tell you that I'm going back. I believe that their sign said that a mani and pedi would be $35. A mani was $12.

I don't get mani's cause the polish never stays on my nails for longer than 24 hours.... I manage to chip it or mess it up somehow, so I just file them and put some clear on myself. I do, however, love pedicures... Ahhh.... :D If I get one I pay $30 for the spa pedi. I love the foot rub - its my favorite part, lol!

I have acrylic nails and pay $18 for my fill. When my daughter gets a mani it is $11 or $20 for the shellac. Pedis are $25.

DD loves the shellac. When she gets a regular mani her nails chip within a day. With the shellac, it lasts her 2 weeks.

Just a manicure/polish at the place my DD goes to is $15+tip. More for gel, more for shellac. I know my coworker gets her acrylics done for $12 but that's really, really cheap.

The place I usually go charges $45 for a regular mani/pedi. French manicure costs $3 extra. If you want the "Spa" mani/pedi with all the extra lotions and massages, it's like $10 more. No idea about the shellac.

I pay $50 for Gel Manicure and regular Ped. My Gel usually will last anywhere from 2-3 weeks. So I don't do it weekly. With my Gel I clean, cook everything. They don't chip or anything. I recommend the Gel if you want it to last. My toes I do regualr colors only because they last longer then finger nails.

$26 pedi
$15 mani

I rarely get a mani and pedis I do maybe every 3-4 weeks during the summer/flip flops and sandals weather.

Wait, what is the shellac??? I never heard of it? I use to have acrylics and loved them but I hated the damage to my nail beds. I have very thin nails that peel often so it sounds like the shellac might be good for me?

Around here I typically pay around $25 for a pedicure and $10 for a basic manicure. Sometimes they have specials for $30 for both. The spa pedicures are more expensive and I find the aromatherapy salts and such they use too fragrant for my poor little nose.

Just went with my dd9. Reg Mani & Pedi was $20 together. It was $5 extra for french & $3 extra for Crackle.

A Shellac Mani (which I LOVE) goes for $30.

Spa pedicure - $25-30
Manicure - $15

I usually pay $25 or $30 here and then tip $5 for a spa pedi! Can't have manicures anymore because of work, :sad2: but I use to pay $20 for those!
