How much do you pay for a manicure/pedicure??

The spa pedi at the place I go is $25. I usually go on Tuesdays because they discount them to $20. I think French are $5 extra.
I don't get mani's so I don't know what they would be. They are discounted as well on Tuesdays.

The biggest difference in the shellac versus other artificial type nails, is that with Shellac you do not have to file down your original nail. I do mine at home with stuff I bought on amazon.

I do my own at home. I bought a uv light and supplies from eBay to do gel manicures. It costs about $4 per application, which lasts about 10 days chip free and perfect. After that there is enough new growth that I want to redo it, but my nails grow fast.

I'm sure this isn't for everyone. I have been doing my own nails for 33 years and I am very careful to cure them properly. If you aren't the DIY type check your local beauty school. Shellac at ours is $15.

I just got the gel stuff at Sallys, I have also been doing my nails myself forever with the Brucci harderner. I havent attempted the gel yet, but I am so hoping this works out! At Sallys the start up cost was a bit high 30 for the gel kit, 10 for the polish, then had to get acetone, orange sticks, file, and the uv light (15 bucks). But I got a gel pedicure at the start of summer and it lasted forever.

I am wondering how much you normally pay for a manicure and pedicure? I thought it was rather expensive and I want to see if what I paid was in line with what others pay.

I got a regular pedicure and a gel manicure (similar to shellac) for $60 last night. I usually get the manicure redone every two weeks, and the pedicure lasts 3 weeks, but I'll push it to a month so I can do it with the manicure.

The pedicure was $25, and the manicure $35. If I had gotten a regular manicure, it would have been $30 total.

My mani is $10, a shellac mani is $25 (but it lasts a month so worth it to me), and my spa pedi is $20 and it includes the foot/leg rub down.

Shellac is awesome! It is more expensive but it lasts...I hate chipping nail polish but the shellac lasts 2-3 weeks!

I pay $35 for shellac manicure French (would be $30 for regular) and $35 for spa pedicure. Reg manicures are $15 plus $5 for French.

Yesterday I got my first manicure and pedicure. We are going on a cruise this weekend and I thought it would be a nice treat.

So, I am wondering how much you normally pay for a manicure and pedicure? I thought it was rather expensive and I want to see if what I paid was in line with what others pay. I can't imagine getting it done every two weeks!!

I got a classic manicure and an express pedicure. The lady told me that about 80% of the people get shellac manicure instead of a classic manicure and that is $13 more. The express pedicure I got was just a basic pedicure, no foot massage, heating wrap, etc. that the other pedicures include.

Please let me know how it works with that lamp. I am skeptical since it's so small and such a low price. That is the same brand I use(Gelish) but it's mini size so costs twice as much as buying it on eBay. It's nice to know I can buy it there in a pinch but I can get a full sized bottle for the same price.

For those that asked Shellac is a hybrid polish and gel that is uv or LED cured. There are also gel polishes(Axxiom, Gelish, Gelac) that apply like polish but are actually a thin layer of gel that is cured like Shellac. No filing or damage to the nails. Removal is soaking a cotton ball with 100% acetone to each nail and wrapping in foil. Wait 10 minutes and it comes right off.

I'm pretty thrifty so the nail place I go to has a special on certain days. $35 for a spa pedi and mani. Love their massage chairs. I usually only do it prior to vacations, and next time I do plan to get the shellac!

Online reviews are much more positive for the shellac than for OPI Gellish. I thought the higher cost was worth it for the shellac, and I love it.The lamp was 60 at sallys.

These prices sound very reasonable.

I've only had one pedi. A friend gave me a $75 GC. I had to pay the tip out of my own pocket. At $85 per crack I can polish my own toes.

I paint my finernails with 2 coats of "Hard as Nails" and a single topcoat every Sunday morning. Looks good, dirt cheap.

Isn't it awesome having chip free polish? I will never go back.

Just to clarify OPI makes Axxiom(applied with a separate brush- comes in pots) and Gelish is made by Harmony and comes in a nail polish bottle. As I said, Shellac is a different animal than the others. Personally I find it too thick and the soak off gels thinner and less apt to bubble since they go on the same consistency as polish.

$18 for a mani/pedi (at an asian nail salon, much more at hair salons and day spas). Takes about 45 minutes total, unless they're busy (usually just walk in without an appointment, and grab a color).

We have such a high COL, such high property taxes, that cheap mani/pedi's, and not having to pump my own gas, are what keeps me here! :cool1:

Sometimes, I just get a polish change instead of the spa pedicure. $8 for regular or $10 for french. :)

I have acrylics-get them filled every three weeks-$22.00-i also pay more for spa pedicures than most of you-45-but both places i see how they sterlized the tubs and tools so im good with the extra money.
