How much are yearly dues?

Before I seriously pitch the idea of buying into DVC with my DH, I want to figure out how much it is going to cost long term. I understand you pay a certain amount for each point, but are there additional fees payable each year for dues? How does all this work? Thanks in advance!

Yes, each resort pays yearly dues which are charged per point owned. This includes maintenance, capital and real estate taxes. (You may be able to deduct the taxes on your income tax.)

By FL law the dues cannot increase more than 15% per year. For the last few years the dues have fluctuated up and even down 1-2% so they are basically staying the same. Dues by resort for 2001 are:

OKW - $3.13
HH - $3.32
VWL - $3.63
BWV - $3.83
Vero - $3.97

You can pay in full at the beginning of the year or have the dues deducted from your banking account on a monthly basis.
