How Many Rides on Pirates of the Caribbean are Enough? Now Completed 11/4/10

we do the same sort of plan at Epcot too! We always hit Soarin first, ride it, and then get a FP. We head to TT next and ride it once or twice before it lines up and then after that it's whatever we want. MS isn't a parent pleaser in my house so sometimes we do it and sometimes we don't.

I'll be curious to see if you have Remy..we didn't have him in March!

It's funny so many of us do the same thing, but we all seem tog et through just fine.

The monorail looks incredible with the Tron logo on it. :lmao: Leave it to me to notice that, eh?

I'm so interested to see how your lunch goes. :goodvibes

I took that picture because of the Tron logo. And lunch, well, let's see. . .

Another great update can't wait for part 2 :goodvibes

Thanks, Hallie! It's coming soon!

Great update! Sounds like a fun, busy morning. We have stayed at the Beach Club the past two years, so we haven't experienced the Soarin' sprint. That IS a great photo of the Tronorail. I love the colors.

Is it me or do the skies look a little ominous?

The skies look that way because it had rained all night the night before. I'd love to stay at BC, but I think I'd miss the Soarin' stampede!

Grrr...for the tour group issues. I'm hoping to avoid as many as I can next week.

Me, too. They aren't fun when you are behind them!

OMG that would make me crabby....moving the FP window an hour and 45 minutes?

:scared1:

Yeah--I sat there really helpless as to how to do anything!

Wow to Soarin and out with a fastpass by 9:15:worship: That is impressive. It always takes us longer than that to get through the ride. That is crazy that one tour group could move the FP window that much. Can you imagine how long the FP line will be when they come back to use them:scared1: I'm excited to hear about lunch with Remy. We saw him in '09.

Oh, the FP line when we got back was ridiculous! Remy is coming soon!

We left Future World, with the whole of the World Showcase ahead of us. Most people seem to like doing the World Showcase counter clockwise. I always feel like I'm doing it wrong if I go that direction. (OCD, anyone?) I personally can't stand to do anything counter clockwise and will always end something clockwise that I started counter clockwise. This is just one of those weird things my family has begun to understand about me and they don't try to change.

Either way, we started clockwise (which really, if I planned it right, we'd either enter at the World Showcase from the Beach Club or we'd take a friendship boat to the UK area and start there, at about 12:00, but again, I digress :rolleyes1). Of course the frist stop when you are going counterclockwise and starting at 6:00 is Mexico.

Dh loves trying on the sombreros in Mexico, as evidenced here:

Gosh, he looks a little odd. . . :confused3

From there, we did an attraction we've never done:

IMG_1040.jpg

Of course, when we started the whole thing, Dan starts singing "It's a Small, Small World". :headache: It's like, do I really need that in my head right now?

We enjoyed the ride, especially since Stinky loves Donald Duck so much. It's a good relaxation when you've been through a Soarin' stampede that morning.

We went on to Norway, and the Maelstrom. We decided to get pictures of the kids when we came out as I wanted to look st the trolls in the shops.

We walked some more around the World Showcase, but it was soon time for lunch.

Last December, I had a reservation at Chefs de France that didn't go so well. I walked away and said I'd never go there again. The problem is, two nights before, I canceled a reservation at Boatwrights in favor of going on to Hollywood Studios. We decided that since it would be a long day at Epcot, we'd do breakfast and lunch at Epcot today. The only thing open I thought everyone would do was Chefs. So much for saying never again.

It's amazing how different two experiences can be. We were seated immediately--not even a 1-minute wait. We received impeccable service, and the kids loved it!

Here they are enjoying the bread

Towards the end of the meal, we met with the "little chef"

Ratatoulle is one of our favorite movies. Meeting Remy at the end was the highlight of the day!

Coming up. . .finishing our Epcot day.

yay! You met Remy! That's great that your experience there was so different (and better) than your first time. And I always go clockwise when entering WS too! We start at Mexico/Norway and work our way around. It just seems right :thumbsup2

I'm so glad you had a good experience at Chef's!

You know, I had the exact same scenario, right? When I went with Mom and Nana on that December trip, I said I'd never go back. Well, sure enough, it was the only place available for lunch when we took our big family trip last year, and you know what? It was awesome!

And of course, who doesn't love meeting the little chef?

Btw, we love the "Donald Duck ride" too. :thumbsup2

I'm glad you met Remy!!! Super glad that you enjoyed the meal this time!! We loved our meal in March so I'm going back in Oct and with my family for CLP in Dec..maybe after that I'll be Frenched out?? or not lol.

I'm glad you enjoyed your Chefs lunch. We like it there. Love the onion soup and Remy is a cutie!

The Gran Fiesta Tour will always be El Rio de Tiempo to me. I don't really care for either incarnation except that I just love everything about being in the temple. My favorite part is the very beginning, floating by the volcano and San Angel Inn. The rest, meh, I could take or leave.

And yet I still ride...every...trip...

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Meeting Remy was great!

It just floors me how different two experiences can be. Because of that, I booked Yachtsman for December, thinking that it can't be that bad again. At first it was my alst meal. I changed that idea. I thought if it was my last one and bad, I didn't want it to be my last meal at Disney until June. Cali Grill is now my last dinner.

I loved meeting the little chef.

I have it for CLP in December. I can't wait for the onion soup again!

The onion soup is awesome! Also, the kids had the lobster bisque. It was delicious!

Hey, I ride IASW knowing those clowns are going to freak me out, because a tradition is a tradition.

The volcano is beautiful and I am looking forward to San Angel Inn in December so I can sit near it!

They only offer the Filete for dinner (after 4 p.m.) not lunch. FYI. The dessert is offered all day. I'm trying lunch there this trip (couldn't get dinner). I'll let you know what I think. :thumbsup2

Well, I'm, of course, having lunch. All of my dinners are 2 TS meals. I'm using snack credits for breakfast (for the most part), having an early lunch, then a later dinner.

I'll try that dessert. There is one thing on the menu that's served with a fried plantain that has my attention.

We didn't have the greatest meal at Chefs last summer, but we're going back ! I'm hoping it will be as good as I remember from other trips.....and Remi is too cute:cutie:

Funny, I'm a counter-clockwise kind of gal myself. :confused3 I just always navigate towards Canada for some reason.

:rotfl2::lmao:....Oh my word......that's funny! My DH would kill me if I posted a pic like this of him on the DIS!:rotfl:

Now, I maintain that the little boatride in Mexico is simply a nice way to relax when it's hot, or when you've been through the Soarin' stampede.....but I just liked it better sans Donald. Again, dunno why.:confused3 Maybe I need to try it again, since I haven't been on it since '06.

HOW CUTE IS THAT??!!!! Great, another restaurant to consider, and all because of a rat!:lmao:Seriously, I had NO idea he was there!.....and on a plate!!! I would have expected him like Pooh or Piglet, all big and 6-feet high!

The ham and cheese sandwich is the best!

They do a great job with the fried plantain. Excellent flavor and just firm enough, not mushy.

Yummo!

I'm glad you're giving Yachtsmen another try. :goodvibes

I have to give it another try!

I hope to have lunch with Remy some day, glad it went so well this time!

:thumbsup2 Thanks, Cynthia!

Yah, I had you pegged as one. :rotfl2:

He made sure I posted it on Facebook as well. He wants all to see. I'm going to get him his own set in December for Christmas!

:thumbsup2 Make sure you sing It's a Small World and everyone around you (I promise) will laugh.

He's only there during lunch, but it is absolutely so cute! You have to do it!

I'm trying to process how to take that.......

:rotfl:[/QUOTE]

:rolleyes1

And I'm already looking at the menu!!:lmao:

.

The fixed Prix is great. Even on the regular dining plan you can order it and get an appetizer. I got the onion soup, which was awesome, the ham and cheese sandwich (which is not your ordinary sandwich) and the profilters (or however you spell them)

I walked out of there unbelievably stuffed and content!
