How many miles on your car? What make/model?

it amazes me how many miles u can get from a car...i thought once u get close to 100,000 its time to start shopping, but u guys prove me wrong..

1994 Toyota Corolla - 210000
1990 Toyota Camry - 172000
1995 Toyota Corolla - 167000
2000 Toyota Tacoma - 66000

As you can see we love our Toyotas. Even with the problems being reported lately, we would not hesitate to purchase another one. Thinking things will improve with them quite a bit soon.

I have a 2003 Pontiac Montana van. Bought it new.
Consumers Report says its the worst vehicle made.
My experience, however, has been tremendous.
Have 563,000 km on it (349,000 miles)
Have replaced brakes and tires plus 1 front wheel bearing - and that's it!
Would have happily bought another one, but GM quit making it.
They lost a customer.
I'll be replacing this with a Dodge.

08 town and country currently just under 35K miles
Will not be 2 yrs old until june :rolleyes1

I have a 1994 Honda Accord with 247,000 miles. The clutch is not acting right (still has the originial one!) so I am not sure how reliable the car will continue to be without some major $$$. I bought the car new with cash, so what a great choice it was. :)

I also have a 2004 Honda Civic with 92,000 miles. Been in 2 accidents, but hopefull it was repaired well, so I intend to keep it for some time.

1996 Saturn Station Wagon, around 150K
2002 Saturn VUE, around 85K
2004 Toyota Sequoia, 80K

We own all of them free and clear and hope not to buy a car for a good long while, although I would love for that '96 to die....that thing is a workhorse and won't die! It hasn't had ANY problems either.

Dawn

2002 Honda Odyssey - 91,000
2005 Honda Odyssey - 70,000

LOVE them both (even more so since we have NO car payments) and will be keeping them for some time yet!

My Toyota FJ Cruiser has 37K on it, the most miles I have had on a car since my first car at age 20-which I watched turn over 100K while I was driving it. DH's indentical FJ Cruiser has about 15K on it. Most of our cars don't reach 20K before we sell them. I love this SUV so much, I can see me driving it for a few more years. The 1960 Corvette probably has 50K on it. All of our vehicles (9) were purchased with cash.i

have owned it since it had 6500 miles, bought it on ebay, and have never had a single problem with it. Dh like it so much when it was delivered, that he set out to find one online for himself. His only had 1500 miles on it. Everything still works, including tail lights and tires. It did get broken into, and suffered a cracked windshield, but not the car's fault!

I tend to keep cars until they die.

I started with a new 64 Mustang but managed to warp a head at 98,000.
My 69 Cougar XR-7 Convertible lasted to 232,000 before then engine went bad.
My 89 Plymouth Acclaim lost the transmission at 185,000
My 97 Ford Taurus was giving up and I traded it in at 179,000 (and needed about $4,000 in work)
I currently have a 2008 Ford Edge with about 38,000 miles on it.

My DH's car is the best, he has a company car so it's free! We pay a small amount every month to use it personally, but we don't have to pay for gas, maintenance, insurance, licensing, nothing! Best way to have a car!

But since we both need a car, we do own mine. I drive a 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer Edition. It's fantastic! Been a great car! It currently has around 107,000 miles on it. We have replaced the battery twice and the alternator once (just this past summer). Other than that, just routine main. When this one starts to give us problems, I plan on getting another one! Can't say enough good things about this car.

2000 Grand Caravan -- 188,000 miles
1995 Toyota Camry -- 135,000
1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass -- 90,000 miles

The caravan had a blown engine at 68,000 miles and we paid $2,400 to put a junkyard engine from a van with 18,000 miles on it in it. We struggled with the decision at the time, but we still owed on it and didn't want to fold in debt in a new vehicle. Now, five years and 120,000 miles later, it obviously was the right decision. We would like to keep it going until our middle son graduates from college in May 2011. We will then have a break in paying tuition for the first time in ten years. Our mechanic isn't sure if that will work out, but he says the Camry is just getting broken in!

2000 Hyundai Elantra - 113K miles on it. I plan to keep it until we do the big move (3-5 years). it s a great car, no issues. I've spent less than $500 on repairs and the bulk of that was a tune up. The rest were bulbs/filters.

What kind of car? My experience has been if it is a domestic car, it will die before 75K miles. All my foreign cars have been SO MUCH more dependable.

Oh, please! :rotfl2: We ONLY buy GM or Chrysler and rarely buy cars before they have 75k miles on them because I drive 120 miles per day and dh drives 100, so buying new isn't worth it. Dh's old Saturn was bought by a friend and still going at 350k miles before the guy totalled it (no major repairs) and dh just sold his 98 Bonneville last year with 250k miles on it (also everything major original). Nothing really wrong with the car, just got worried. We've also had a couple of Caravans last over 175k before we sold them, still running.

2004 Ford Expedition 45,000
2008 Honda CRV 10,000

01 for ranger - 162,000 miles on it. The radiator, sway bar, something with the axel, and a few other things have been replaced. Totaling a few grand. Some stuff like the sway bar was the fault of the driver, not the car. Other than that, just routine stuff. Tune ups, shocks, brakes, tires, oil changes sure do add up over time. Bought used in 04 with 49,000 miles on it.

95 mercury villager 211,000 miles - if it can be replaced, it has been. Still looking at 1700 for a transmission rebuild. But other than that, it actually runs pretty good. It was used as work car, gaining a lot more miles than it should have. But it hasn't had an easy life since.

My aunt drives an 00 or 01 honda accord with less than a 100,000 miles and hasn't had any major work done. Just maintance stuff over the years.

2010 Toyota Prius 3700 miles.

'01 Ford Ranger - 98K miles bought used at 32K miles
'03 Honda Accord - 76K miles bought new
'08 Toyota Sienna - 23K miles bought new

All paid for and haven't had any big repairs besides on the Ranger replacing the slave or master (I don't remember which is which right now) cylinder for the clutch which is in the transmission housing, so I had the clutch replaced at the same time. Only other things I've done is regular oil changes and all scheduled maintenance.

'04 Chrysler Pacifica 160,000+ miles. '04 Mazd 65,000. '01 Toyo Tundra 90,000 & '04 Saturn Ion 88,000. Just made my last pymt on our daughters used car. ('04 Mazd) So we are now, temporarily w/o a car pymt. (as long as I can last with the Pacifica) That $ will now help pay down some other cc debt before getting another car payment! Deb

I have a 2004 Pacifica and it only has 46,000 miles on it, apparantely I don't go anywhere often enough! LOL
