first timers wondering if we can possibly see and do all that's on our list ... for example, during the first week of august, can we accomplish the following with 2 adults, a dd4 and dd9?

epcot, wednesday - between ee and 10:30 ps @akershus:
-mission space (can dd4 ride this?)
- test track (switch off?)
- living w/land
-honey i shrunk
- spaceship earth
- cranium command (switch off)

AK thursday, starting around 3 p.m. ... how much can we finish by 5:30?
- kali river rapids
- tricera top spin
- primeval whirl (maybe)
- dinosaur (maybe)
- tough to be bug
- tree of life, oasis

thanks for your thoughts.

Hubby works at Epcot and this is his suggestion for Wednesday. Get there right when it opens for EE and go right over to Test Track and get a fast pass (Fast Pass will be open) get your fastpass and go ride Mission Space First (44 inch height requirement). Once off Mission Space your fastpass time should be ready for Test Track so you can go over there right away and ride (40 inch height requirement). After Test Track go to Space Ship Earth (should be about 9am). After SpaceShip Earth head over to Honey (it opens at 9am with the park) and then the Land. You should be able to see them all this way... Cranium Command may or may not be open when you go, it is seasonal at this time.

For AK, have not been there in a while to know what the crowds would be like to answer that one for you.

Depends on how crowded it is. When ya enter if Bug is pretty soon Id do that (as its the best outta your list) On the way out do the oasis (as its just the tree and a few trails around the tree) then Id FP either Kali or Dinosaur (pref Dinosaur as its right there) then ride Spin and whirl then use your FP then head to the last ride if you want to- Then Id be cure to check out Mickey's jammin Jungle Parade at 5:30/5:00 (Park Close)

That sounds like a lot to try and do at AK in August in only an hour and a half! :earseek: :teeth:

One problem you may have is that the parade at AK will probably start at 4 pm (if it's the same as last year). People will start finding their places 30-60 min before this, thus creating congestion in the small walkways. And, during the parade, it will be difficult (if not impossible) to get from land to land. This will make it hard to ride much during the parade, unless there are several rides in one area that you want to ride.

So, I would suggest you leave the three attractions in Dinoland for during the parade (Triceratops Spin, Primeval Whirl, and Dinosaur). You should do Kali River Rapids first thing, since it's way back in Asia and you could get trapped back there by the parade. I would leave ITtbaB for last, after the parade is over. You will see the Tree of Life as you're walking into ITtbaB. You can walk through the Oasis as you're leaving.

Just a note: I would highly recommend trying to ride Kilamanjaro Safaris and trying to see Festival of the Lion King. Your itinerary leaves out two of the best attractions in the park! ::yes:: You just might be able to fit at least one of them in if you could arrive a little bit earlier than you now plan.

Have a great time!

I had to read your post 3 times to make sure I understood it. You want to do most of the attractions in FW in 2 1/2 hours, and some of the biggest attractions in AK in 2 1/2 hours. And all of this with a 9 yo and 4 yo.

Sorry but I don't think you'll get close to accomplishing all this. Nor do I think you should try. Slow down and enjoy the parks. You're going to be rushiing to hit all these rides that you won't be able to enjoy them. Try to plan more time doing these attractions.

I'm curious, why would you switch off for Test Track? My 4yo son loved that ride and I gave him a choice of parks to go on our last day and he chose Epcot so he could go on Test Track again.

Thanks for the good questions and insights. We'll be in each of these parks for ee on other days, so I'm just thinking about what we might want to pick up in the evenings that we've missed at ee. I didn't realize that AK closes this early! Will adjust plans according to all the good advice. Thanks again. - k
