As I'm sure you can tell, I'm down to planning my itenerary. I'm wondering how long it takes to make your way through World Showcase?

EPCOT is my idea of fun, but I have to take into account my (almost) 2 yr old and (almost) 7 yr old. We are going to get passport books for each of them and my older Dd will probably enjoy the kidcot (is that the craft booth) places.

Thanks

When I took mine at about the same ages we used up about two hours, early in the morning. We rode a few rides on the way and walked at the speed of the oldest one when he did not sit in the stroller.

So, give it at least two to three hours.

It depends. If you have a DH who rushes through the mall- it will take you about a half hour to go around the WS! If it were up to me, I could stay all day(and have yet to).

realistically, with kids.... a lot of factors will come into play- how they are feeling that day, the weather, etc.

I woud see the films where available and ride the rides in Mexico and Norway. Take time to look at everything. Do the kidcot stations. See Tapestry of Dreams, if you are there later in the day.

If our son gets cranky, a snack or a coke will usually distract him quite well. I also have no problems using timeouts at WDW. I can always find a little corner for him to stand in.

We always remind him that our vacations are for the whole family and we will do all the things he wants to do and the things that mommy and daddy want to do also.

What about taking the kids through Epcot on the internet?
Go to the offiical site and go through the attractions and what there is in each country. If they are prepared for what Epcot is -and isn't- it may be easier once you are there.

Have fun!

Can anyone tell me where you get the passports from and exactly what you would do with them. We plan to visit Epcot in our Feb trip with DS (9) and DD (6), do they come unto the age group it is geared towards?

With young kids I would probably sugest at least three hours at WS. They should enjoy the Kidcot stops, the ride in Mexico, the playground in Norway, and also see some of the entertainment like the acrobats in China or the living statues or masquarade characters in Italy. Also, there are also character locations throughout WS (Aladdin characters in Morocco, Pooh and friends at UK, Snow White in Germany, ect.), many of which have much shorter lines than the ones at MK or MGM.

The Passports are avaiable for sale in shops all over EPCOT. I believe they are usually near the cash registers there. The kids take them around to all the countries in World Showcase where they get their passports stamped in all the countries.
