How I Survived 11 Days at WDW with a Disney-Resistant Husband **2/20 THE END **

Wow... Just came across your trip report and I am LOVING it!!! How were the pails that the kids' lunches came in??? Did they cost extra?

Oh Chris does not look too happy!:rotfl2: Hopefully your evening goes as planned!!:goodvibes

WE LUV  SAB. We are DVC members and have stayed there twice the past two summers. Our kids (older) love that pool. BCV is so much fun. Can't wait to hear more about your trip. I sure hope Chris cheers up and actually smiles soon!!! :rotfl:

I can't imagine that SAB ever gets old. I can't wait to return!:goodvibes

ROOTS! Oh my gosh, Chris is so Canadian! Every single one I know owns something from Roots. :rotfl:

So far, this part of the trip sounds like bliss, and with evening plans like those, what could go wrong? :teeth:

It's definitely our national brand! Should be a sponsor of the Canadian Pavillion if you ask me!;)

I love Roots! :rotfl:

nice update...glad you all got good use out of that slide,i suppose it would have been a lot more difficult for you to enjoy if Declan or Katie had been too apprehensive and needed company in the pool! :yay: for daredevils!! the resort looks lovely...

The Beach Club really was a blast. Everyone in the family (DH included) could agree on that!;)

Love, love, love the BC and SAB pics. I'm SO excited for our trip! I'm a little worried about the kids and the slide (I'm not sure they are good enough swimmers) but we'll see. After a summer with daily lessons they may be good to go!

Thanks for posting and Welcome! :welcome:

The pails were absolutely free and included in the cost of the meal. They were your typical grocery store, cheap plastic version, but they worked well for us!:)

Great update! Love the shots from your balcony and your description of SAB...it is a beautiful pool area!!

Absolutely nothing to complain about at the Beach Club as far as I am concerned. It still blows my mind that my best friend who stayed here in March didn't like it.:confused3 She just missed the GF, which is where she always stays. Each to their own, but I would take the BC any day!;)

If truth be told, I think the displeasure was directed at me for taking his picture during the meal. This was the 1st trip that he was subjected to me taking pictures of his food. The non-Dissers don't really get that, do they?

The pic of Chris is hilarious! :lmao: That could be my husband.....he does not enjoy disney :sad2:

Actually, he was in a pretty good mood. Til the camera came out. :rotfl:

By dinner that night at Brown Derby, he was used to it.;)

Actually Amanda, I was absolutely stunned that the kids took to the slides so easily on this trip. On our last trips, they wouldn't go near them! Swimming lessons made a big difference, and I always made sure to go down the slides first so that I was there to catch them. Katie didn't need this after her 1st time down the slide and she knew what to expect, but with Declan I had to continue to catch him so that he wouldn't go underwater each time.

Once he knew that I would always be there waiting for him, he loved it!:goodvibes

Good to know! I thought I had heard that you weren't allowed to "catch" the kids at the bottom. That will make a big difference, especially for my daughter!

Definitely not allowed to go down the slide with them. But for sure you can catch them. We did this at the CR, SAB, and the Poly right in front of the lifeguards. No problem at all!;)

I just found your report and I'm loving all the pics and details! I have to say I'm worried that DBF is going to be the same way as your DH...he totally doesn't get my Disney obsession and says he'd rather vacation somewhere "real". What does that mean?

Anyway, thanks for allowing me to live vicariously through you!

Ha, ha, ha! That is my husband's favourite line!:rotfl:

Welcome to the club!

Phew!

Remember I said that I was going to start back running this week so I would be able to run the 10k in October with my husband during his companion Half Marathon race? Well, just under the wire I squeeked in my first workout tonite (if you can call it that:rolleyes:).

I ran/walked for 25 mins. To save my embarrassment I won't tell you the distance I covered.

I also won't tell you that I just about fell down getting off the treadmill at the end due to dizziness.

2 things I forgot about starting back to running:

1. it is so hard at first to keep moving and putting one foot in front of the other...

...but...

2. it is so gratifying, (especially if you have a desk job and sedentary lifestyle), to feel that good, sweaty tiredness afterwards.

I am determined to keep this up and get in shape for October's race. Feel free to keep me honest by periodically checking in on me to make sure I am keeping it up!;)

Now you have me feeling guilty!!!!!! Especially after I ate a bowl of icecream and apple cobbler!!!:rolleyes1

LOVE your view from your room!! Beautiful!! :lovestruc And that pool looks AMAZING!!! Can't wait to hear about Brown Derby and Fantasmic!! :goodvibes

Oh, I love the BC and SAB! :cloud9: We can't wait to go back and stay there again one day. I always think that the kids meal in the pail is a fantastic idea. We actually have two of those at home I think from our past trips. Sigh, I could just smell the BC lobby as I was reading about your stay. Glad you got to use the slide a bit too, as we walked by a few times and saw the slide being worked on.

Love the picture of BC!:thumbsup2 I am dying to stay there. We are a beach loving/pool loving family so I am sure that my whole family would love it! We just, typically, spend so little time at our resort that I am not sure it is worth the $$. We loved POR last year and are planning to do it again while DS is still small enough for the trundle. What to do? What to do?:confused3

What a wonderful room view!!

Many years ago we did the late night trek through Epcot when our boys were young. They were totally exhausted - younger DS were were able to carry for partial time. That walk through Epcot to BC can truly be long!

Beautiful BC pics! SAB sounds heavenly, I'm afraid if we were to stay there I might have a hard time convincing the boys to leave the pool for the parks as well - no wonder Chris was content to just hang at the resort!
