How does vandalism and looting accomplish anything???

Resistance is futile! I'm not sure how many times I can say kid or adult has nothing, zero, nada to do with his level of responsibility. I was not attempting to absolve him of anything he did.

I was not making a legal distinction. I was attempting to make a parental one.

Then I don't understand the pet peeve when it comes to a legal issue.

If ballistics show he was shot in the back, from more than 10 ft away as witnesses as describing, will any of you really care, or still think he got what he deserved for being a "thug" committing a petty theft?

My mind is open about guilt or innocence of Wilson. If Brown was running away and he was shot in the back, then Wilson should go to jail. An eyewitness took video. While he's talking you can hear other eyewitnesses talking in the background. One says that Brown jumped in the police car. Then he says the policeman told Brown to stop. Brown turned around and started running towards Wilson. The witness also said that he thinks the cop must have missed a few times because Brown kept running towards him even after the shots were fired. Now, if that's the case, then Wilson was justified. I saw the video the other day before it was taken up by tons of blogs and websites.

I had a feeling when Brown was being portrayed as an angel that it would bite them because no one is an angel. There's something about everyone of us that is less than angelic and the media would find it if we were to find ourselves in the spotlight.

The original report didn't mention how many times he was shot?
Ummmmm....

We don't know how many struck Brown. As I posted above, an eyewitness though some shots missed because Brown kept running towards Wilson even after the shots were fired.

How about this stranger to Mike Brown who was tweeting while it happened?

Doesn't know the cop, the kid, that looting or riots would erupt. NOTHING.

"The man recounts hearing at least seven different gunshots. When asked by a friend why the police shot Brown, he replied, “no reason! He was running!”"

I swear people just want this black kid to be guilty no matter what. Like you just can't accept that an officer can get mad and shoot knowing he won't face any charges.

I just want the truth.

I always find it interesting when these "incidents" happen that people firmly decide that an 18 year old is a man instead of a kid. In my circles, when a kid turns 18 sure they are legally an adult but for all intents and purposes they are still a kid.

My daughter just turned 18 this month and just graduated from high school 2 months ago. There is no way I would call her a full grown woman! She is still a kid. She still needs my support, guidance and protection. Sorry but Michael Brown was a kid. He may legally have been an adult but he was a kid.

Doesn't mean kids can't be criminals and clearly they must deal with the consequences of their actions. But how many people who are calling him a MAN would consider their own child a full grown adult as soon as they reach age 18. He was a kid, an 18 year old kid.

Sorry. Just one of my pet peeves.

As I was typing one of my posts, I typed "boy" because Brown is 18, however, I would probably have been called a racist because using "boy" when referring to an African-American male is considered pejorative so I changed the word to man. If I had let "boy" remain, I have no doubt that someone here would have accused me of racism even though I thought of my own sons as boys at 18. Heck, I still call them my boys and they're 30 and 39.

Forgot to post in my novel above that I had 4 different live feeds going during the curfew last night. There were a few women who said that those causing the trouble were not from Ferguson. The ones they knew about were from Chicago and California and had gone through neighborhoods trying to recruit people to protest. Those interviewed said they wish the these folks would just go home and let their town heal.

I was responding to where a second autopsy was authorized. The linked article stated the autopsy report did not include how many times he was shot. That is relevant information to me and I was surprised that it was not included. The ME should have been able to determine that.

And unfortunately, the police can't do much because of optics and issues that result.

:sad2:

Just an opinion--but since George Z was found not guilty, I think this is carryover.

Any evidence that shows this was anything other than an unjustified homicide will not be accepted.

Why am I confused? Eliza61 had page after page of "race" posts. Nothing was said to her in regards to her opinions. :confused3. Personally I am for freedom of speech no matter what your opinion is.

Plenty was said to Eliza61 in response to her opinions on race relations between police and the black community. That's why I said what I did in post #484.

The autopsy is completed? I know they were supposedly doing a toxicology report and those can take a couple of weeks.

My bad...

The article that was referenced: http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/5685747
Says the PRELIMINARY report didn't list number of gunshots.

Whew! I misread and thought it said the actual autopsy report.

Mea culpa!

No problem:) When I read articles, I have to read them a few times. I know in the recent past, toxicology reports have taken a few weeks but I wasn't sure if maybe science had made a leap and the coroner could have had the toxicology screen in a few days instead of a few weeks. It would be great if they could do that not just for this case but for all of them.

Me personally? No. I

So why is the account you post not being talked about?
It's all over the internet. The same video mentioned below.

An eyewitness, who lives in the neighborhood, talking to friends about the incident. Yep, it's everywhere...and graphic.

Have they said when the autopsy report will be released?

Earlier in the thread at least one poster was commenting on how much of a "thug" Michael Brown looked like and how he did not look like a college student. I came across this piece on NPR this morning and thought immediately of this thread. Some food for thought.

There is a twitter campaigned called #iftheygunnedmedown . NPR interviewed some of the people who posted with that hashtag earlier this week.

I was looking at this the other day and think it's a good campaign to show just how much control the media, police, lawyers, or those with an agenda have over the ability to bias a story.

Out of curiosity I went into my Facebook photos to see how I could be represented and was glad to see there isn't a single picture that could be make me look like a criminal, thug, or even be used to make me look bad.

I also felt old looking at the hash-tags because I don't understand why kids and young adults these day would even want to portray themselves as a gangster or thug, there were dozens of photos with people in military uniforms, suits, caps and gowns, etc right next to a picture of them blowing pot smoke or pointing a gun at the camera. I know we all rebel as kids but I don't remember ever wanting to look like a thug or criminal, I don't know when it happened but at some point I got old :confused3.

I hadn't seen this but just Googled that video and it was both interesting and disturbing to watch. I said the other day I think the forensics will show what really happened and this just confirms that belief. We now have a couple accounts stating Michael Brown was running away when he was shot and a couple accounts stating he was running towards the officer when he was shot, entry and exit wounds will prove one account and disprove the other, I'm just curious why it's taking so long for the autopsy results to be released.

Thanks! I have finally come across it several times. The item I read had way more details and likely is unrelated to this video. So detailed it actually seems fabricated. The only thing in common is the mention that Mike Brown was charging for the officer.

I can only find the original "story" on the Conservative Nuthouse website and in all honesty listening to the tape it sounds like he was saying the officer was charging towards Mike Brown and Mike was standing still as he was getting shot. But whatever

The part of the tape that talks about Brown running towards Wilson is around 6:20 or so and I believe it goes past 7 minutes. It's a background conversation and goes past the 7 minute mark.
I didn't find it through Conservative Treehouse. If you Google, there are lots of sites linking to the video.

This is the link through the eyewitness' youtube:

Just saw MLK III on CNN, and he's saying that there needs to be a special prosecutor, since according to him, the county prosecutor, McCulloch has "already demonstrated bias".

The only thing I've found on McCulloch is that he strongly criticized Gov. Nixon for bringing in Capt Feelgood and the highway patrol in to take over security in Ferguson. I'm not seeing how that makes him biased, but maybe there's something else out there.

So easily dismissed because it doesn't fit your belief of what happened...

Are you looking for truth or just evidence to confirm your opinion?

(I didn't listen to I either, but I did read a transcript for the part in question that says Mike brown went for the officer. "But whatever.")
