How does our Epcot plan sound?

My mom and I will be going to Epcot 4/8 and 4/9. I know it is not a great time to go since it will be the week following Easter, but I am a teacher & it's my Spring Break. We have never visited Epcot, and we are really looking forward to seeing the topiaries/flowers since we will be there during the Flower and Garden festival. We are also looking forward to exploring the World Showcase. Here's our plan:

Wednesday 4/8:
Check in to AOA that morning at around 10
Akershus lunch at 12:30
Explore World Showcase
Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party

Thursday 4/9:
Spaceship Earth FP - 9:00 - 10:00
The Seas with Nemo and Friends FP- 10:00 - 11:00
Lunch at Coral Reef - 11:30
Living with the Land FP - 1:00 - 2:00
- Anything else we want to do/see before going back to the resort.

It looks good, but I can say that Living with the Land doesn't normally need a fast pass. We have always been able to get on that ride within like 20 minutes stand by time. If there is something else you would rather do to spend your FP on I would suggest you change it. Maybe use a FP for Soarin or Test Track. Everything else looks great though! Epcot is awesome we love Epcot its 1 of our favorite parks.

Oh I've wanted to go during Flower & Garden for years!! It will probably be crowded but honestly, when isn't Disney World these days??

I notice you don't have a FP listed for Soarin' or Test Track? Not sure if that's by design or not but you might want to consider at least doing Soarin', since you've never been Also when you do Nemo also consider popping in to see Turtle Talk with Crush. We enjoyed it as much as our kids did Have tons of fun!

Thanks for the feedback! We aren't really interested in Soarin' or Test Track. We aren't really huge ride people. I'm afraid I would freak out on Soarin' since I don't like heights, and my mom gets motion sickness pretty easily. Does Turtle Talk with Crush usually need a FP?

I've heard Turtle Talk does need a FP. Its a pretty popular attraction with kids. We are planning on getting a FP for it for our trip in April. I hear its pretty awesome and its never the same. You can actually talk to Crush the turtle and ask him anything and he will personally answer all the questions. We've never been but have heard awesome things about it so we plan on going to it this time around. Honestly I am scared of heights as well and I did Soarin' a couple of years ago and the height didn't bother me. Its also very slow motion. I also tend to get motion sickness due to vertigo issues. I was for the most part ok on it. I will tell you this I has no idea how high the seats lifted you up when we got on it, lol. The front row is actually the lowest part of the ride so if you sit in the front it doesnt go up as high. It was actually a cool experience. Anyways another ride to consider is Figment. My kids love that ride and I love the ride too. Its definitely an oldie but goodie ride, lol. Its another slow motion ride like the Nemo ride but with Figment and who doesn't love a little purple dragon that likes to get into trouble lol. I would definitely try to fit that into the schedule as well.

Not sure whether I would use my FP on Turtle Talk. I'm pretty sure once you show your FP to get in, you are in the same waiting area as everyone else. At least that was our experience last August. I thought it was a total waste of a FP.

In addition to your fastpasses that you have scheduled on your second day, I would recommend scheduling your 3 fastpass+ reservations for the first day even if your not certain you will use them. If there are other rides that you may even possibly want to ride, it would be nice to have the fastpasses reserved. There is no penalty if you don't use them.

Exactly! Double dip on spaceship earth at least!

The movie in France is wonderful and you get to be seated for the duration. It isn't a circle or dome theater like others so no chance of being sick in it.

I am probably in the minority but I like Universe of Energy it is great if it is hot or rainy and you need a little break with some (slight) entertainment.

Definitely add Turtle Talk with Crush into your plan. it's a great show even for adults, very amusing! If you don't like rides then I'd just use a FP+ on it, but I wouldn't say it has to use FP+.

I'd also consider a FP+ for the Character spot meet and greet to meet Mickey.

I don't remember the exact time but it is a nice break being off your feet or out of the heat. We always ride this attraction.

I agree with others. Soarin and Test Track are both amazing rides. If you think you'd like to ride them, then I'd FP each. You have two days so can do one on one day and one on the other. Also, Turtle Talk is cute and right near Nemo.

I thought Test Track was great, but it's jerky and fast and definitely a 'thrill' ride, so if that isn't your thing, then I think you can skip it. However, I have to urge you to give Soarin' a try (and use a FP for it b/c the lines are always crazy long). 3 in our group of 4 get motion sickness (that dizzy, headache, nausea feeling when riding in the back seat, none of us can handle a 3D movie for long, etc). Also, I'm not a huge fan of heights - though I don't have a crippling fear. I was really nervous for us as we strapped into Soarin' and lifted in the air, but I had read that if it makes you dizzy, you can close your eyes and it will be fine b/c it doesn't move much and is very gentle. OMG! It was AMAZING. I had a tiny, tiny bit of woozy during the nighttime scene b/c it seemed out of focus, but it was all of 20 seconds long so no big deal. All four of us had huge smiles on our faces and were SO glad we did it. We even tried to get a 4th FP+ for it later in the day but they were booked. I can't wait to go back and ride it again!

I wouldn't use a FP for Turtle Talk b/c as someone else mentioned, it puts you in the same holding area as everyone else. Though if you don't have any other need for a FP, then it wouldn't hurt. Also, if you get off Nemo and the wait for Turtle Talks is long, I personally think you could totally skip it. It was very cool how they do it, and it was cute - my daughter was even one of the kids who got to speak to Crush - but I didn't think it was so great that I would have been disappointed if we missed it. I'm not sure I'd even go again on a return trip.

I would add Figment in to your plan as another poster mentioned. Generally a short wait, and a slow old school ride, but some fun visual effects.

I'd aldo agree with using your FP for the character spot. I have sometimes seen a very little wait, but you never know. Turtle talk is usually a walk on, and Living with the Land, although one of my favorite attractions, has never needed a FP for me.

The ride in Mexico is cute and Ellen's Universe of Energy is my son's favorite he is 18 but has always loved this ride. Yes it's long but a nice break from crowds and heat!
