How do you tow your bikes?

We have a 25' RS-S Outback travel trailer that we tow with our Silverado 2500 HD. Although there is place in the travel trailer to store the bikes while towing, it is a pain in the rump. We are thinking of putting a hitch on the front of the truck to put a bike rack on while towing the trailer. Has anyone done this and what are your thoughts on it. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!

Can't you put the bikes in the bed of your truck?

We have a truck camper so placing bikes in the bed was not an option, we put a receiver on the front end and bought a bike rack. It is the same reciever that you would use to haul your camper only designed for the front of your vehicle. It can hold our four bikes with no problems at all. You can also get an adjustable mounting bar attachment to make a bridge from the seat to the handle bar to lower the profile of the bike as not to limit the drivers view

We never have room in the bed of our truck. I think we take everything with us camping except the kitchen sink. Wait...I guess with a travel trailer we actually do take the kitchen sink also!

We purchased a receiver tube,my husband fabricated a receiver hitch and welded it to the back of our 28ft fifth wheel. We insert a standard bike rack and we're set.

I also have built a reviver hitch for the back of 5th wheel . Then install a 4 bike Thule rack in receiver .

the only thing that would concern me about mounting the bike rack on the front of the truck would be cooling issues.

We have not had any problems so far with overheating and we brought our bikes to FW


NHCampers, we will be going camping in Barnstead this weekend if it stops snowing Friday, we'll be leaving the camper at home though

I have been hauling the bikes in the front of our TV for several years and the only problem I have is at night ,they block the headlights so much that I won't drive at night.
