How do you request a waiter?

My DD LOVED our waiter and assistant waiter (Matt from Australia and Januar (from Indonesia?) on our Nov. cruise. We are going again in September and I heard that you can request your wait staff as long as they aren't on "leave" Anyone know how to do this? Through Disney? Or do I ask the TA? I'm sure they are all great, but the assistant waiter, Matt told my kids jokes every night and he even took my cranky 2 year old off of my hands so I could eat. He carried him around the restaurant and showed him all of the cartoons on the walls at AP B.T.W, late seating with a 2 yr. old can be a challenge! Kudos to these guys. They were awsome!

I booked with DCL and just called them to request a server. Im sure you could have your TA do the same thing for you. Good luck getting your servers. :D

We went to dining changes once onboard and requested Beckie from Canada who we had last January....she had just gotten back on the ship that day so they could not assign us to her as she was only on standby for the week.

We had two wonderful servers named Dwight from Jamaica and his assistant Edit from Hungary. Alen was our head server who we have had other cruises and is very nice!!!

The only way to guarantee getting your server is to go to Dining Room Changes during Embarkation and ask the Head Servers who are at the desk.

Since there are emergencies (illness, death, etc.), it is impossible to guarantee that the server will be there and working on the date of your cruise.

We put the request on our reservation with Disney and then double checked with the head server after boarding (to make sure server was actually there during our cruise)

I put in a request thru DCL, and received a nice reply that it was impossible to request a specific server due to vacations, illness, staff changes, etc. (This was after a head server suggested this method!) Then, I went to Dining Changes in Sessions after boarding, and got the guy we wanted. THis is the way we've always done it without problems.

Who would you request on the seven day cruise? I have a fealling that we will be happy with anyone, since we have never cruised before, and won't know the difference, but I'm still curious.

I have had Fitz from Jamaica and Putra from Bali as servers and happy with both of them. In fact I have seen very few post from people that were not happy with their servers.

Have a great cruise.
